I was sent home from 2 days without pay Just because I asked a child that hit my daughter what happened between she and my daughter. I was told this was against school policy.

Great content Dr Britton. Thanks for sharing. The same things are happening here in Jamaica. Sometimes I get so tired of the disrespect and disregard we have to face and not only that, but students lie on us daily. Many more teachers are going to leave the classroom. Sorry, you guys have to face so many challenges but at least you getting more money than us.

I appreciate that you're sharing these things as 'eye openers.' However, some teachers may get discouraged to the point where they dismiss the thought of gaining fresh or new experience. 😊 Once a teacher's approach is amicable yet firm, he or she will get along ok. Don't get discouraged, guys. You're still going to be dealing with human beings, so dont be intimidated. Problems are everywhere. Be optimistic, work hard and get the experience you desire. 🎉

It Is true, Dr. B. Talk the truth. When I realized no hardworking citizens work one job here to survive , however , they want international teachers to come here and work one job . Sometimes, the money can not pay all your bills. It's crazy.

I know of a male who had to go back to Jamaica because of allegations a student made. Trust me man, these students are liars and the other students help them. (Snitches get stiches). My personal experience is --- the worst students are filtered between international teachers - the students love us though.

You still get to keep your B1/B2 but you won't need it. This is because your status is now J1, so whenever you travel that's the visa you'll use, not B1/B2. Hope that helps.
