Just started PSO today so I'm glad I caught this recent upload watching another one of your PSO videos. Nice info to consider.

I started as a FOnewearl and I wouldn't have it any other way :P Scrounging every drop to sell to try and even remotely support my TP habit was part of the fun for me XD That said, this is mostly from original PSO on the dreamcast. At least back then FOnewearls could actually still melee and I had a pretty good endgame career with a soul eater (lots of people mistook me for a HUnewearl because of that and the fact I didn't die despite wading in among the enemy... most FOnewearls tend to stand far off and still get deaded with alarming frequency :P ) In later PSOs newman characters now regen TP passively when standing still which helps, but FOnewearls got their ATA nerfed so hard they can't hit the broad side of a barn with most weapons so they REALLY need their TP and techs even more than they originally did :o

Great video! Part of the issue with Forces is that their TP outpaces fluids pretty early, especially as fluids (and mates) recover less in lower difficulties. Later on you'll just start chugging Trifluids 😂. Would definitely agree on TTF. While it's incredible EXP, you're liable to burn out if all you do is spam it.

I've been playing on Ephinea about 2 years now so I can add somethings. 1. Why Forces indeed aren't great to start solo in a group they are ok, and 80+ pop off really well solo. Hunter honestly is in the same boat though most their gear set up is considered a luxury if you try to trade for it. Rangers by far and away best starting classes all around for anyone until you get extra gear for both other classes. basic set of gear for end-game is from Forces > Rangers > Hunters, then the jump skyrockets from there. I started as a Hunter Offline GC, and Ephinea, every time ever grinded or anything I wish I was a Force or Ranger lol. 2.PBs don't worry about too much, unless you have different PBs. There are like 3 good PBs, which most sold mags will commonly have the order in which you also PB does matter. If a PB that is the same goes back-to-back the last person just won't even get the buff or add anything. You can donate PB with GameCube controllers it's Y, I think "End" on keyboards so if you don't have a 4th or not 100 also you can spam it for 20% and get the effect. 3/4. Yes, IDs do matter but fear not you can have I think it was 36-character slots, which is enough for 10 of 3 classes over. and a Force is super good on every ID for tech spamming late game farming. Plus, of note if they ever do change the drop tables, they do hand out free ID changes, but it's been almost 2 years since the last one. I agree with TTF being a trap for leveling when it isn't even the fastest way to level. a lot of Episode 4 quest do it better. I did a write up on leveling and help with guides for it on another channel. 1-80 which is the biggest part people rush after that first time you get down to 1 hour, 2-4 hours, 6-8 hours There are so many different ways to level and fast, between solo, groups and getting power leveled by someone. Just found the channel keep up the good work. Favorite game, cult classic so less people know about it. With everything being subjective on how you play no shame taking it slow. If you end up playing heavy in the endgame it's just a big grind anyways. This is not your 1 sitting or over the night type of game. Best to set realistic goals try to hit them. This game is Super RNG heavy. Mega rare hunt is a trap stay away from them if you're new. Most new players I've watched not get their item on drop rate and burn out. Can't win them all lol.

I could ramble on about this game to people that know nothing about it.... because it had such a profound place in my heart. I miss the good ol days of playing this on DC and GC. I have an account with Blue Burst, but never got back into it. I keep watching videos on it though....so maybe one day. I was having a blast playing solo on a GC emulator, but Windows took a crap on me and I haven't tried to retrieve my save file.

So nice to hear someone share the same passion for it as me! The Ephinea server is great and it’s probably the closest to the original servers but I don’t think anything will beat my time spent on the Dreamcast!

1st point: Agreed. Forces are not that good as a first character. Later they are pretty much the easiest to level imo; high Deband and Jellen as well as some decent defensive gear let you level up rather quickly in Ep4 2nd point: Photon Blast Chains are great afaik, but I have always been more of a solo player on BB so I can't talk about it too much. 3rd point: IDs have a *HUGE* impact. Look up on wiki (in case of Ephinea) the class you desire and the recommended ID. In the end you will have multiple characters with different IDs, but some are better for certain classes. E.g. Pinkal is great for Forces. For Rangers not so much. 4th point: Agreed. Playing the same thing over and over gets boring. Way back then when I switched to BB I spent hours and hours playing pretty much every single quest, regardless of the enemy counts, conditions or even if it was a "fun/novelty" quest. I was just experiencing the online side of PSO for the first time, and wanted to see everything, heck I even ran around solo in Lobby 14 or something and played GoGo ball by myself! Just play the game, don't worry about anything and you will get pulled into this amazing world and all its quirks sooner or later. Great video! Have been seeing a rise in player numbers on Ephinea lately, so videos like this are really helpful.
