You really think that's how these opening debates are done, every time someone states something, it all stops for a fact check? Whose facts? Traditionally the hallmark of a politician is tell half truths so the interpretation is up for grabs. Any time you have a debate, you're watching two deceptive people try to pull the wool over because the truth is that anything the president does is a compromise and it is impossible to make everyone happy all the time, so they just say what seems like the most popular thing at any given moment, then later do the most popular thing at a different moment, which may not be what they stated they would do.

The choice the morning after the debate is the same choice we had the day before the debate. We have a candidate in Biden whose best years are behind him but can still discern right from wrong, truth from fiction, and surrounds himself with solid people to help him run the government. And we have a candidate in Trump whose best years are also behind him, who cannot tell fact from fiction, who is a convicted felon thirty-four times over and is currently facing additional felony charges, who surrounded himself with criminals now convicted and has promised to bring those criminals back into the fold, who has been found civilly responsible for raping a woman and has been accused of sexual assault by two dozen others, who encouraged a mob to attack the US Capitol in order to overthrow an election, and who is responsible for taking reproductive choice away from millions of women. Those of just some of the things that disqualify Trump from being the best candidate for office. Even if we describe this election as giving us the worst choices in our history, the right choice is still clear.

Most people in power would be felons if only they angered the wrong people and were made a target.
