I work in a sheet metal fabrication mill and we are required to use cut resistant sleeves because we slide large thin sheets of metal. The sleeves save my arms almost everyday.

We used cut-resistant sleeves like that when working around lots of sheet metal and large panes of glass like in the window shop. Saved a lot of people's arms from getting sliced open. it is also useful in meat processing because there aren't there are knives flailing all over the place in the processing plant.
