I was going to comment the same thing! Love the pink lip.
Thank you, Marie-Anne, I feel seen! It's not a comfort thing with me, I have extreme arthritis in my ankles and feet, heels are impossible as far as balance. (There's a reason they didn't name me Grace! 🤣) Your videos are so helpful. ❤
As an early childhood teacher, I’m on my feet all day…heels are usually not an option for me. I personally own every type of shoe mentioned in your video! I have to give a plug for Vionic brand ballet flats…even though they have that flat heel, they have wonderful support built in, and I can walk around in them all day. Thank you, Marie-Anne, for showing us that chic can be comfortable too. 😊
Thank you, you affirmed nearly all my shoes (78 yo woman)!
I developed a 'finicky foot' problem about 10 years ago. Wearing heels for more than an hour or so left me with feet so sore it would take a couple of days to recover. I also have very high arches and a high instep and so flat shoes like loafers, ballerina flats, etc were not an option, either. My daughter (who has always had foot problems) recommended I buy shoes with built-in orthotics. What a game-changer!! Granted...they are more expensive than regular shoes, but so comfortable...and I can even wear heels with no aching feet. I love shoes and, in my opinion, the right shoes make or break an outfit. I have bought a number of pairs of shoes, sandals, boots...and heels...from the Walking Company. (I ordered them all on-line...all fit perfectly and I haven't had to send anything back.) I'm not a spokesperson for this company, but I would recommend them in a heart beat. I appreciate that you took the time to show us how even flats can be flattering. You're always so kind and encouraging and such a beautiful lady...inside and out!
Thank you, I can not wear heels anymore, these style of shoes are amazing
These are all the shoes/boots that I already wear so it's nice to know I'm halfway trendy 😁 I am fairly tall at 5ft 8in so I very rarely wear anything more than a 2in heel, I don't like to tower over my husband who is 5ft 10in. Brogues and loafers are most definitely my go-to footwear with knee high boots in the colder weather. Fab video as usual x
I would love to wear heels, but my balance isn’t very good! Therefore it was lovely to see some great alternatives, including the super red ballerina shoes. Merci beaucoup Marie-Anne!
I adore oxfords and brogues. With all that beautiful detailing, I've always thought the brogues were a more feminine shoe, even in menswear. It can sometimes be tricky to find them in colors I need (currently on the hunt for navy blue) but a quality pair has always been worth the effort in my experience. Loafers are my other go-to shoe. I prefer the classic styling and would never in a million years have considered a shiny silver pair with a chunky sole like the ones you showed. I have to say a big THANK YOU for showing how those worked with a classic outfit! I really loved how they contributed to that look, but when shoe-shopping and seeing the shoes by themselves I would have bypassed them as being too costume-ish. Thank you for that education!
Thank you for this video! Very helpful and these are very realistic options for me. I work as a CNA/health unit coordinator in a hospital, 12 hour shifts. When I work as a unit coordinator, I absolutely need shoes that can be comfortable all day. I remember wearing a pair of ballerina flats and sorely regretting it, pun intended, about a third into my shift… i’m definitely finding out quickly what style of shoes I can wear with my lifestyle. So right now, I’m actually taking a break from clothing and just focusing on footwear, figuring out exactly what I need and actually planning my style around that.

I get lots of compliments from the doctors on my Naots. They look like a cross between Mary Janes and ballet slippers. I used to be a teacher, another occupation that requires standing all day, plus I walk a lot, or did until I was hit by a car last year. I've seen some of the nurses at the local hospital wearing clogs, with the heel strap.
I have many of these and LOVE them. They are timeless, and by purchasing quality shoes, I can have them repaired and wear them for many years.
There was a time in 2012-2015 when ballet flats were the it shoe & everyone seemed to go crazy for it. I learned the hard way that ballet flats don’t offer much support for me (back then I was in school & doing clinical rotation, which involved a lot of standing/walking) so I always stick to loafers or oxford shoes!
"There is no excuse to wear ugly shoes". Thank you! I wish more people and more shoe stores knew that in the US. There is a strong culture of "if it's comfortable, it has to be ugly". Stores do not dare offering a spread of comfortable, stylish shoes, as they would run the risk of scaring women away. I also love shoes that are a cross between heels and practical shoes. In France, they are called "trotteurs". Growing up, my Mom had a versatile and well made pair of them that she wore for over two decades. And no matter the height of the heel, I like classic looking shoes. Not bulky, and/or flashy monstruosities.
I love your hair today, Marie-Anne! So modern and chic!🥰 I LOVE my ballet flats. Especially the red pair.
I agree wholeheartedly. You don't need to sacrifice style for comfort. There are many quality shoe brands that offer style, comfort and affordability. ECCO and Born are some of my favorite brands. I can't balance on heels any longer, so loafers, short-heeled boots, and sneakers are my mainstay. Thanks for your inspirational videos Marie-Anne.

I have two pairs of Ecco leather sneakers. They are the most expensive shoes I own, and worth every penny. I’ve worn them for more miles than I can count over 4 years, and they’re still flawless.
Bonjour! You are so right that totally flat shoes are not good for walking. I love flats and walk quite a lot, so I prefer flats that are... not absolutely flat. I always choose them with a little heel (flat ones and 2 cm high, or 3 at the most) and comfortable insoles. In addition, ultra thin heels tend to quickly wear out the leather around the area while walking or sitting. Loafers have always been among my favourite shoes too, as well as pumps and high knee boots. Always chic and timeless.
I have ballet flats, flat boots ad brogues. For general wear I always wear flat shoes or boots. If I do wear a heal, it is for evening wear. I have a pair of Victorian style lace up black ankle boots with a small heel. I also have two pairs of shoes with a Louis heel. I also have a black pair of Mary Jane's with a Louis heel. This type of heel isn't too high and is chunky so it is comfortable to wear.
I have all of those shoe styles. I don't wear heels. I'm so happy to see flats with pointed toes. So feminine. I found a Breton shirt with black stripes except for the top stripe being fuschia. I never ever would have bought it because bright colors aren't my thing. I decided to try it because it's only a little pop of bright pink. I wore it to church today with black slack and black booties. To my surprise, I got so many compliments on it. Some women even told me it makes my waist look smaller because the bright pink is across my bust and looks much broader than my black stripe waist. I'm not an hourglass, so cool. All thanks to you. 🙂
Oooh, those silver loafers are cute! I just got a green alligator pattern loafers. They have a little heel but are so comfy. Wore them to church yesterday and they got lots of compliments! I like ballet flats but find them a bit too flat.
I was surprised not see any sandals. Maybe they're not "French chic"? But, I wear them with everything from jeans to formal wear.
Thank you so much Marie-Anne! I was among those who asked you to advise on flat, chic shoes. You made me feel seen and appreciated. And off course again, I love your styling proposals.
Thanks Marie -Anne lovely stylish choices & comfort for those of us who have painful feet resulting from years of wearing heels
Great video, again! I have ballet pumps with a slight heel (2 cm) in black patent with a bow on the front that I adore and can wear all day and even walk around in, in comfort. Gabor make some beautiful ones.
I wore Chucks in rose-mettalic to my wedding XD Loved them. And the ballet flats are an alltime favourite of mine to update a jeans outfit. Thank you again for sharing
For me, it's a matter of proper arch support. I finally found a German-made arch support inserts made of hard plastic covered in leather (from a real shoe store). I no longer have severe sciatica or hip pain if I make a point of wearing them. I wear them with everything from flats to moderate heels. They are more expensive than the type purchased at department stores, but they last as long as at least three or four pairs of those and do a better job.

Yes! Arch support is my main issue too. I’m on my feet all day so heels are out but at the same time so are completely flat shoes.

Oh, great point about the ballet flats not being comfortable enough for lots of walking. They weren't for me and I couldn't understand why because they were flats. Thanks for explaining how the low heel or lack thereof makes a difference.

I think you just need to be careful about ballet shoes in that they need not to be very flat in the heel. I buy ones with a slightly higher heel and arch support. A lot are too flat and unsupportive. I love a low Chelsea ankle boot myself. No leather for me

I've bought arch support flats from several places. You have to examine the shoe when buying. I buy the ones with spongy soles not fiat ones. Marks & Spencer, Clarks. I've had some from BHS. Pavers. Lot of places do more comfortable padded shoes with a one inch or so heel. Cotton Traders. I find the cheaper shoes are very flat.
You look stunning in that shade of pink! Great video. I seldom wear heels (only when walking distance is short) but love many flats, including the ones you featured. One of my early inspirations for chic flats was Ines de la Fressange, who I believe does not wear heels but always looks oh so chic. Thanks for another great video!💕
Bonjour Marie Anne: I love the selection that you have shown. I enjoy stylish and comfortable shoes. I have loafers, the ballerina shoe, the ankle boot which is versatile and the flat knee length boot. You are right…you don’t have to look frumpy.❤
Love ballet shoes!
Your advice is always the epitome of beauty, class and elegance! Thank you our dear Marie-Anne! ❤️
I’m so happy I found you. It’s very easy to look frumpy.
Awe, you look fabulous in the pink! A great video.
I have ballet flats in a variety of colors. I use gel insoles with them to make them more comfortable. Thank you for all of your suggestions.
Thank you for this video; I have not been able to wear heels following an accident and i now love wearing ballerines and flat boots. I also love your first outfit of gray sweater and scarf over white jeans. Grey is one of my base wardrobe colours and I love to wear different shades together.
Bonsoir Marie Anne. This video was perfect for those of us who are flat shoe wearers. I do wish I had a choice but unfortunately, I have problems with my feet which not only prevent me from heels but also from many flat shoes too. It’s always a bit of a challenge for me to go shoe shopping and one can never be really certain of the comfort of a pair until one walks around in them. I do have a couple of standard brands though which I can rely on now. 🧡🍂🍁

Look into shoe inserts-it’s the only way I can wear most shoes.
Merci Marie -Anne thanks for the video. And compliments for your haircut. Great! Kindest regards!
I have all of them with exception of the brogues. I'll have to pick up a pair. 👞 I used to love heels, but now at just 54 I have arthritis in my ankles and bunions. But as you pointed out there are still plenty of nice options!
Thank you Marie Anne.
Merci Beaucoup!!! I did look at your video on Trousers and the big take away is not to pair the trousers with oversized shirts or sweaters!!! Thanks for responding to my question❤️
Absolutely fantastic! Thank you so very very much!
Marie-Anne! Bravo! A really great video here. I've had to pivot my lifestyle a bit to take in account my joint disease. I can't wear many of the heels I have (gathering dust, LOL) in my closet. I have many of the cute shoes/boot types you have in this video. I love my pewter brogues that have an "androgynous" style. I call them my "Bowie shoes"! Well done here! Love the array of cute items!
I love your lipstick here. Although your usual bright red is chic and classic, it can look a little harsh, especially after as we get a little older.
Marie-Anne your earrings are beautiful and look so smart on you. At 63, I still love my heels but appreciate this segment on flats. Merci.
Thank you Marie-Anne for sharing your beautiful flat shoe collection and great ideas on how to wear them .I love them all 🥰😘
Oh thank you for this video! I have extreme back pain and can’t wear heels. I love your vlogs!❤❤❤
What another great video, Marie-Anne. You continue to inspire me. Thank you for that. Thinking back to the shoes I have owned over the years, I realize now that I have always been a loafer-kind-of-girl. I don't like wearing flats, or 'sneakers - especially Converse, as they make me feel a bit frumpy, and my legs get sore with no support. I love a heel, whether low or high, but it has to be sturdy, wide and stacked, like a block heel. Some of my summer sandals have a low profile, but I prefer a heel on my closed toe shoes and booties. By the way, I love your silver loafers. I would love to get a pair to add to my collection.
I own all but the oxfords. My ballet flats have a 1-2 cm wedge heel for longer comfortable wear. I am rebuilding my shoe wardrobe after I went up almost a size and a half.
You’re right, there are flat shoes that look great. Love the lace up boots, I must look out for some! I have Chelsea boots too.
I'm a woman of a certain age, but my grandmother always said " Only old people wear clothes for comfort " I think of that every time I buy something new. Comfort does obviously play a part but if it isn't stylish or chic I want none of it. Heels don't have to be 6" but a small heel can be worn by most. I'd never go out in the evening without a heel.

Excellent selection! I am 1,77 (5’10”) and I don’t wear heels because I am tall enough 😉 I usually wear loafers, which I own in several colours. They’re my top favourite shoe. I own only one pair of brogues in red, because I find them too masculine, but red makes them more interesting. I wear ballerinas at work; flat boots are a must in winter, but I prefer the Beatles boots, in snakeskin. My only issue is sneakers because I don’t find them comfortable and I don’t like most models, apart from the simplest ones.
Really Excellent video and tips; intelligent, well thoughtout and easy to put into practice! Thank you for doing the heavy lifting for us Marie-Anne!!
Hello, Marie-Anne! These shoes look fabulous. I have been looking for the 2-tone Chanel style flats, but they are difficult to find. I own all of the items you mentioned, and enjoy wearing them, especially the ballet flats. Btw, I ❤your hairstyle in this video. You look lovely as always! Thanks for the excellent video. 🙋♀️💝
Marie-Anne your style is timeless, I love your videos.
Lovely video as per usual 😊 I tend to live in my olive green suede Tamaris sneakers this time of year. I find the slight platform helpful for my jeans length. Have to avoid heels due to knee issues 😒 Have a lovely evening xx
Hello Marie-Anne, I just wanted to say that the earrings you are wearing look beautiful and so flattering with your hair. I also only wear low heels. Thanks for showing us shoe suggestions.

I feel your pain. Same happened to me. I hope I can wear a low heel soon but it would have to be wedge or block with a wider 'footprint' for balance
Nice pink sweater.
I have all these except for the knee high boots. I love red ballets. I always have a shoe for every outfit now. Of course, I watch your videos.
Great stylish options, love this video! I do wear heels but major in these kinds of shoes for everyday wear. I like to be able to walk as much as I can without hurting!
Marie-Anne, I think you have just been showing the contents of my shoe cupboard! I've got all of those styles ... the loafers, the ballerinas, the short and tall boots and the sneakers! The only shoes I don't wear are brogues. Thank you for making me feel so stylish and not a frumpy old woman in my late 70's!
Beautiful pink jumper, Marie-Anne!
Dear Marie-Anne, what an enjoyable video again! I have developed quite an infatuation towards beautiful good quality shoes on my style journey 😁. Shoes are the most important part of an outfit in my opinion, because they make it or break it! My list of shoes that I wish to get just keeps growing.. I loved almost all of these shoes, except sneakers I find very hard to feel stylish in. I do wear them, but they always seem to bring my outfit down. They look good on other people though. Well, maybe sneakers are just not my piece of cake.
Although I enjoy heeled boots and dress shoes, I live in a mountain town so it's often only practical when indoors--as fashion rather than actual 'get from here to there' footwear. I have all of the shoes mentioned here, with the addition of some almost-knee-high, lace-up winter boots.
Thank you so very much for this wonderful information!
I agree wholeheartedly we don't have to sacrifice style for comfort. I am in the market for a pair of lofers. Excellent video as always Marie-Anne!
Great shoe advice and examples! You look amazing in that pink sweater!😍
Great video I work in retail and I'm running around all day so I end up with very comfortable ballet flats I'm also tall so I don't like to wear super high heels because I'm already at towering over most of the men I deal with..:)
I love this video as I cannot wear heels. I have a pair of Coach slip ons that are comfortable. I have a pair of Betty Page slip ons that are black and white like saddle oxfords. They are so cute and retro but sadly they are not comfortable. I have a pair of Huggs that are not ugly. Unfortunately they are too hot most days in California. I love your red flats. I love your white jeans. Thank you for this video. 🤗❤️
Really great classic shoes. I have loafers and ballet flats.
Thanks a lot!
Your hair looks great! Thank you for posting such helpful videos.

Another wonderful and instructive video. I do have several of these style shoes and they are indeed comfortable and fashionable. I do need to get some red ballet flats! Looking forward to getting a pair this fall.
Thank you for such a practical video! I have two pairs of Tamaris ballet flats, one pair in ivory and one pair in black. They look exactly like your pair, Chanel inspired, but not two toned. They are so stylish looking and practical. In the winter, I live in my knee high, flat heeled boots.😁 I absolutely love boots, so I am always thrilled when fall and winter come. I also have a pair of Tamaris ivory colored trainers. I am on the search for ankle high boots that will look good on me. I have never been a huge fan of loafers or brogues. But I will keep my eyes open for some that could possibly look good on me and my Kibbe body type, which is either a "natural” or "soft natural".
Great shoe choices!
Bonjour Marie-Anne! What a wonderful, helpful video, thank you!! I am definitely on Team Heel, but your low heal options are absolutely beautiful as well! (I have red ballet flats I adore!) I'm excited to go shopping! Merci!! (You look stunning in this video!!) Kellie

Great video, thank you! I wasn't sure about the casual hiking boots look but you convinced me.
Thank you for all the nice comfy shoes you showed. Love your hairstyle!!!
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!
Brogues and ankle boots are my go to footwear from now 'til next spring. They are comfortable and work well with my prescription orthotics. Each fall I check my favorite manufacturers for new colors and styles, so have both in several beautiful colors or textures. My days of ballet flats are over, but back then I had a rainbow of colors and loved wearing them all year round. Good piece, thanks!
I can only wear heels under 3 inches, I think because my feet are so short. But I love any footwear that will comfortably give me 2 to 2.75 inches of extra height. I prefer block heels over thin ones, not just for the extra stability, I just prefer the way they look, more grounded. I’ve never been able to wear any pointed toes, when I measure those shoes, they can be less than half the width of my toes! Almond shape or square toes are my favorites, and I love a low, square vamp. I haven’t seen pointed-toe stilettos worn where I live for decades, they would only be laughed at as silly and pretentious.
Wow, you look very pretty! Also, I own all of these shoes and love them to wear with everything!!
Love it ❤️
Great information. I have been limited in shoes for awhile. Good ideas to up my game. Love your new “do” too
Bonjour Madame Marie-Anne. Very useful for women who can't wear heels everyday. I like high heels, but I can't wear them everyday due to my daily activities. I love ballerina shoes (I think they are even my signature shoes). I found them a bit uncomfortable, and yes, it was because they have almost no heel. I found some ballerinas with some heel (1.5 to 3 cm) and a thicker sole and I find them more comfortable!!! I'll think more about sneakers and brogues too (also, to diversify my footwear, haha). Take care and many saludos from Mexico!!!
