A very rare tutorial ! Thank you Karl, it was clear and efficient. I propose you to add a bonus to this video : how to use the bridge when there's a lot of traffic on the table (8 ball or straight pool situations) ;-)

Good tips! I, like most players, need to practice with the bridge and this video will help those fundamentals.

Good routine there. Any chance of doing a vid on the tip,or doesnt it matter much on the shiny cloth they use on pool tables now,as a bar cue type can send the ball all around the table.

Lovely video mate. Thanks for this definitely can use it. Has I have Cerebral Palsy down my lift side. I can use the rest with only pressure on it has I can hold anything in it. So this definitely can help me. Thanks mate #MuchLove #PoolLife

Nice one Karl. Have to chime in with my own tip. Remember to keep your hand on the rest when it's laid on the table or you might get done for measuring. I remember Johnny Archer getting stung on that before. Reminded me of your disgraceful measuring with the cueball in the Mosconi :P

@@karlboyes7844 Yes, but still... there are some situations when that is useless. Simply can't reach the CB with either hand. In those difficult times, creativity awakes: 2 rail kicking, safety play... and believe me, being stubborn not to use bridge helped me develop those segments of the game!

I played snooker before American pool. The rest head commonly used in pool is just bad imo, U shaped instead of the more stable V or X shape used in snooker and some are kinda squeaky when running the shaft over it.

So you have an "x" style bridge that doesn't offer much in elevation above a potentially close to frozen ball in front. From what I can see, that bridge won't be effective when trying to navigate over a ball. Have you tried or can you make a video using a bridge that offers the elevation to pocket a ball that's near the object by less than half an inch or so??

I donno why but 50% of the time that i need to use the bridge, i have to move it out of the way as quick as possible and sometimes there are balls on the way that you can't put the bridge on the table. I manage to work things out but is there a way to do it without looking ridiculous? :)
