5 Star Caravan Park close to Suffolk coast - Cakes & Ale

This week we are in Suffolk and what a wonderful midweek break we had.
Cakes & Ale is a very clean, smart and quiet site on a former WW2 airbase. Full service pitches, modern amenities, bar & small shop in Reception but best of all it's just a 5 minute drive to Thorpeness & Aldeburgh two untouched Suffolk seaside towns which are a MUST visit.
Come with us for a full site tour and a trip to the coast.
Highly recommend this one!
Thanks as always,
Helen & Dave

Hi from Yorkshire. Not been caravaning since I was a child, but thinking of it in retirement! This will be a first for my wife and I and in addition need to change my car- thinking of a Kia EV6 with a Bailey Unicorn Cabera! Spent a year weighing up the pitfalls of towing with an EV, but pretty sure the benefits outweigh them! My wife is somewhat sceptical about caravanning but I think it could work for us. Watching your channel for tips. Keep up the great work!

Hi Grant, lovely comment thanks for watching. Getting a caravan 8 years ago has been a game changer for us. In terms of towing with EV, Its a personal choice but not one I would make. The EV6 is beautiful, Andrew Ditton (checkout his youtube channel) tows with one but his caravan is small and towing any distance is stressful enough at times so unless you have purchased already I would consider a hybrid. Just my personal opinion, I know the EV6 is expensive but as I say it’s a beautiful car. Whatever you end up buying we both absolutely love Caravanning, so many wonderful places to visit in the UK. Best wishes, Helen & Dave

@@HelenandDave I've seen all Andrew Ditton's relevant videos at least twice and the main takeaway is that for most charge stops, the need to detach and park the caravan for 15 minutes or so. This should be about each 120+ miles or so towing 1600kg. (Mass has lower effect on range than drag) -about 2.5 hrs driving. (My bladder max is about 1.5 but at least I am towing a toilet!) I don't want fast, furious road trips and as the vehicle be my main car I do not want a basic hybrid. Yes I may consider the right phev, and the new Seat Taracco Phev may work for me. Ideally I want a new car with a 7 year warranty like the Kia! Budget up to 55k. If anyone can think of a phev that will tow 1600 kilos with a 5-year minimum warranty, Please let me know!

Hi Guys. We have been following you for some time now. After a really rubbish year we are hoping to start “ vanning” again in Sept. We are based in the Cotswolds so East Anglia is not familiar to us -So your vlogs have been a fantastic help in planning a tour in our van. We guess you like the same things as we do after watching your vlog on Concierge camping some time ago. So thanks again and keep up the good work, we may even treat ourselves to one your favourite steaks.
