I agree with everything you said. I love the way you explain and how firm we should create the boundaries. I’m 32, I have strong boundaries, sometimes I doubt me but I know and I feel when I’m taken for granted. And I simply do not allow it. I don’t want to become no one’s doormat. I just called him out today but meanwhile I'm keeping my options open and talking to others. To be fair, if you’re only talking on weekends and haven’t been on many dates... he doesn’t actually owe you a goodbye and it shouldn’t be that weird. He’s already showing you how he feels about you. The fact that you’re not talking or seeing each other more is where the standard should be set, not the fact that he doesn’t say goodbye when you barely text, that’s normal. Texting isn’t formal, date additional guys for abundance and you won’t even notice this guy

A 64 year old woman shouldn't be bothering herself with this nonsense. It's done try and get some peace about the situation. Women in their 30s can't even get commitment in this era. Once procreation is over men and women don't really have a lot do with each other unless fully invested/committed (from an earlier time).

Yep sports version; my daughter. College version. Guy is out of town quite a bit for his sport. But, then he wants her to text him. It's just too complicated. You want to actually "see" the guy. So fortunately, she did not give him her texting info. At first we didn't even see this coming. But, if he continues to do this sport; I don't see where he has even time for a relationship/dating thing. @@QueenSheba43 the ID Channel is real good for that. It really opens your eyes up to how suddenly a guy can change and hurt you, even murder you. We women can all learn great lessons from those stories, learn to recognize something’s not right about how he’s acting, and know that it’s best to just get the hell out when he’s not acting right. We can’t afford to gloss it over with, “well, he’s just in a bad mood, or something bad happened and he’ll soon go back to being Mr. Great Guy”. No, it doesn’t work that way in real life, as you can see by the stories on ID. They show a lot of variations on how guys act so we can learn to know what’s likely coming if we don’t move on, and fast. I love that channel.

Does the time frame of commitment change when you’re dealing with a single dad who has several kids and can only see you on his off weeks? I’ve been dating my guy 1.5 months. We see each other 1-2 days on his week off from the kids. We both have expressed we want to spend more time together but he is cautious with the kids meeting me because he’s previously introduced girls too early and he got burned and it confused the kids. So would 3-4 months be a good time length in that context to have that commitment convo since it’s more equivalent to the speed of dating that someone else with no kids would experience?

I'm going to give you some advice. I would take time to seriously reflect on what you want,how you want to be treated. His children are his responsibility they will never be yours and he will use them to drive the "relationship ". Hr will use them as an excuse. I think you deserve better. I'd just leave it and walk away with your dignity in tact.

Just a control thing. I ignored this guy today after him not reaching out to call for a week. He did send me a happy thanksgiving text but no contact since last sat so ignored him. When I didn’t answer it the first time he then sent a text saying something silly bc he likes to joke a lot then he says honey. I text him and said hey I’m in the middle of something I’ll call you later. I didn’t call him back, 2 hours later he calls, I ignore it again then he follows up with another text saying oh I just saw your text now call me when you can. I finally call him and he says I’m just about to eat I’ll call you back. See that’s a game and he’s trying to control when it’s convenient for him to talk to me. That’s not how it works so he will be ignored again.

He does everything right but he's only a buddy..no chemistry at all. Any ideas

I don’t believe that is unrealistic when you already had your first date to expect to connect with that person and get genuine interest that show that it is worth it to go on a second date...

I have that issue now...really cute, great personality, we have been off and on, wants to get married now, buy a house together BUT needs help getting his VA benefits. Yes I do like him alot but I told him I am seeing someone due to him wanting to spend time and take me out for Valentines Day.
