I am so comfused the water bowl test said I have low porosity but I have more high porosity signs

the water test doesn't work at all 😭. I have high porosity and no matter what the hair floats with the water test. especially if you have type 4 or 3c hair it's always going to float bc our strands are thinner. the water test is not a good test

@@golden22h8 the best test is to see if your hair likes cold or warm water. If your hair feels more alive and curly when you use warm/hot it can indicate that your hair might be low porosity. This type of hair loves warm water instead of cold.

The “hair dries quickly” is tricky because it comes with a massive caveat. High porosity hair dries quickly, but ONLY if left to dry without any products. Once youve saturated your hair with leave-ins, oils, curl creams etc. it'll take FOREVER to dry. Im talking like “Hairdrying for 90 minutes and your hair is still wet”-type of Forever.

MEEEEE If I’m taking a shower and I wet my hair I notice that it starts to get dry in some areas extremely fast but when I put product in it afterwards it literally no joke takes almost half the day to dry

Omg yes yes!!! Because of this, I never understood my porosity. But a stylist just told me I had low porosity. So this is in alignment!

This is true for all curly hair in general. It's always dry because the natural oils from the scalp cant slide down the hair shaft so it makes it apear dry and frizzy.

I have bleached end. My natural growth is low porosity but my end are super high. I have to use two different types of oils! And conditioner!

Mine has EXTREME high porosity

according to the porosity test i have low prosity cause my hair floats, but it dries extremly quick

Relatable. I also did porosity test & it says I have low porosity as my hair floats. But my hair is so dry and the quality of my hair matches with the high porosity. I'm confused

Your hair can be dry and low porosity It just means you guys need a way to get that moisture into your hair instead of it just coating the strands

FYI that test doesn’t actually work. It’s not true, you should instead take a quiz to find out.

So what should we do about it? What should we use?

Help please, my hair takes like 3 and a half hours to dry entirely, and it's quite frizzy in the drying process. however, after it's dry, it becomes kind of like silky smooth. I don't use heat on it either

I am low porosity. Mines dries very quickly with moisturizer.

​@Neesha242 I'm 100% White and have naturally high porosity hair. Some things are determined/influenced by Race, but this isn't one of those things.

I know I have high porosity but my hair takes forever to dry bc I have a lot of hair…may this has levels?

Please someone help me im 24 still couldnt figure out which one i am my hairs extremely dry even when i style it with gels for 24 hours it feels a bit moustiruzed but then i sleep and boom my hairs so frizzy shine all gone also my strands are so thick 3a 3b 3c mixed curls the back of my hair is not so defined and always look frizzy and the elasticity is not much also my hair takes forever to get wet in shower even 30 mins rinsing with water i still feel theres some dryness in my hair when i put conditioner it feels hydrated 3-4 mins and then when i rinse it feels dried out again i have to put some conditioner before i get out of shower or it feels like so dry and dehydrated … Please someone with knowledge help me which one i am which products are right for me😢😢😢😢

i relate to everything you're saying here😭😭 if anyone has advice for this type of hair behaviour it would be highly appreciated, it looks like no matter what i try for my hair i keep having all these problems, i don't think i've ever seen the back of my head with defined and/or hydrated curls🥴🥴

I have nappy hair. But all but the last one are true. My hair dries very slowly
