I know you don't watch other KZread videos but van or car life sounds like something you're perfect for. Since you're already a minimalist and you can quit that job that you hate and live more free. Cheap RV Living is an excellent channel. I'm preparing for it and can't wait until I can transition.

I know you have a video on finances already but it would be interesting to see how much money you saved from opting out of the consumerist lifestyle. You mentioned you don't invest and you only have one account. But topics like learning about how not owning a home has been beneficial for you would be interesting like a part 2 video. That is if you have any more information to add, if not no problem :)

This is why I love you and your channel, so much food for thought! The fourth point, reconnecting to your own intuition, spoke to me the most. Recently I have decided on a low/ no buy year for personal items such as clothing. Sure, the financial benefits are great, but I am actually doing it to reprogram myself and undercover the person I am underneath all the buying and browsing and wanting. Your message has definitely helped me make this decision, so truly thank you for all that you share here, Alicia. 🙏✨️ A video where you count your items would be fun, as would a video about your process of decluttering the opinions of other people.

Great video! What I really resonated with was your number five, the fear aspect. Internally, without the "artillery" as you put it (so perfect) I was able to think and rely on my life experience, my creativity and the strength that I have inside. I was able to breathe and heal in a way I could not before. Externally, just the physical aspect of having less makes you less afraid. If you need to move, you can move without spending thousands of dollars on movers to cart around furniture that you don't even like to begin with. I have many friends who have done this..."but it was my mom's, aunt's" and so on. People stay stuck in a place they don't want to be because of their stuff. They can't live in a smaller, more affordable place because their stuff won't fit. I can pick up and move, much like you, at a moments notice if need be. My attachment to things is so different. All this gives me mental space to concentrate on my health, both mentally and physically. Good on you for addressing fear. I believe the most meaningful and important thing one human can do for another is to help them feel less afraid.

You are inspiring me to seek quiet. I am extremely addicted to stimulus, to the extent that I can’t even fall asleep without an audio book. I’ve seen it in myself, but because I’m fairly minimal outwards it’s like I’ve given myself a pass. Being away from stimulus feels like ants crawling in my brain. I made a start a while back and now run without music or books, just enjoying nature. After this video I feel very inspired to challenge myself to break this addiction! BTW your hair is looking lush, sis! ❤

Thank you ☺️ …and that is great you are finding this new awareness. I was the same! And still have moments of course- it’s a practice. Challenge yourself bit by bit and see what you can release. It will be uncomfortable at first but the more you do it the more you will actually start to crave it 🩵✨

Yes count your items and share with us please! I get the idea of the deeper meaning not being about a specific template such as x # of things, but it’s inspiring and helpful to see specific examples of how this actually plays out for someone. I love neurotic minimalism stuff though because I’m also an extreme minimalist, which is probably one reason I love your channel, so I’m biased!

I admit that I was lying to myself about not using my time and resources shopping because I was going to thrift stores/garage sales. That is still as you call it dealing with the hungry ghost. It’s just like a bad relationship bungee. You know it is out of balance but don’t give yourself the space to really do the inquiry to get to deep truth. The excavation deep truth is the work that sets us free from unhealthy behaviors. The willingness to sit in silence is not a dark cave, it is a luminous cave once our eyes adjust. ❤️just sharing something I’m working on with my treasure hunting addiction of sorts. Minimalism is so appealing and fascinating. The entire video was captivating. I soaked it up like a sponge. It all resonates. I get and it and will work on making my life -my own-. Not what societies idea of it is. Not what corporate america wants it to look like. Rather , what I want it to look like. I am in the process already of doing so, albeit slowly. I have a minimalist wardrobe. Not 'extremely' so, but I do go through and curate it. I sort it twice per year. If it hasn't been worn, I donate it. If something comes up that I truly need, I thrift it whenever possible. So, my foot is in the door, if you will. It feels good to ignore fast fashion and feel that pressure that comes with it. I look for comfort, practicality, fit, and hey if it's cute too that's a bonus! Anyway, I am starting to ramble! I love your videos and your outlook! Keep them coming! They're truly inspiring!

Alicia, another great video. I couldn't agree more with all you said here. As far as the item count, I don't need to see it because I think it becomes a way to judge someone's authenticity as a minimalist. Also, we compare ourselves with others and if they have more things than you it can create guilt in them because they have more things . Well done on the video.
@Exploravore
22 күн бұрын
Thank you Mark- and I definitely agree with you on that. It can fall into templates and comparison, which is not the message I want to promote, and why I’ve avoided “the count” up until this point. I’ve shown every single item I have down to my dental floss lol so I think that’s enough.. 😄💜

Gym 7x a week at 4:30, busy job, working on second degree, always reading a book or two… I love all of these things but I’ve started to notice that I can’t sit still.

This is so great to hear Marta- I’m glad you are taking this step for yourself. I’m sure the woman you uncover will be radiant 🌟

Yes count your items and share with us please! I get the idea of the deeper meaning not being about a specific template such as x # of things, but it’s inspiring and helpful to see specific examples of how this actually plays out for someone.
