That encounter with John and Dutch was something else. I understand Arthur's loyalty to Dutch even though it's an obvious flaw, but whenever I hear dialogue like that all I can think of is if Dutch spoke to me like that I get on my horse and he'd never see me again. Especially considering Arthur knows he's sick by this point in the story. I'd go get a nice place in California and that would be it. Everybody else can go eff themselves.

He threw it all away because of his ego primarily, then the paranoia. Not even Micah. The only reason he even cared about him is because he stroked his ego and followed him blindly (or so he thought). Unlike Arthur and John who questioned him.

@@themadtitan7603Most people don't understand this game's story. They usually think Dutch was a good man that was slowly corrupted by Micah, when in reality he was a murderous sociopath from the beginning, who would doom the gang regardless of there being a rat or not.
@Xavier_Breaking_Bad

@lucasludwig2347 I agree on that. He was a conman who liked to make people believe that he cared or that he was a good guy, but in the end, he only cared for what others could do for him. I'm playing the game for the third time, and he always blames everyone but himself. In his eyes, he can do no wrong.

Agreed. Bonnie is a side character who makes the most of every scene she's in. She's charming, genuine and a natural badass without trying much. I personally don't Sadie is nearly as well-written despite having much more screen time and having a character arc.

This game is the GOAT. I'm still pissed about it not winning game of the year. No way was God of War better. I played them both. I think because Roger was winning best actor they gave best game to GOW. Which is crap. The story wasn't better, the graphics weren't better, it wasn't an open world game and the detail wasn't 1/1000th of RDR2.

2:31 the music just fantastic
The Dead Men Treasure reminds me of a story my class had to read my senior year in high school. I don't remember exactly how it went but three brothers are told by an old crone about a treasure and where to find it. Once they do, two conspire to kill the third so that they can each get more of the treasure. After the murder, the two left celebrate with drinks but one poisons the other. The last one left, in his excitement of having all the treasure to himself, drinks from the poisoned cup and dies as well. The old crone shows up and the end and laughs at their foolish greed.
The work of Rockstar Games in this game is INCREDIBLE! Details, realism, story... true MASTERPIECE! 💯

Dutch: "Arthur, we need to lay low!" Also Dutch: "LOOOOUD NOISES!"
What I dont get is that as far as Dutch knew at that point, Molly was thought to be the rat as she full on admitted it to everyone in camp. So Dutch accusing John doesnt make any sense. But then I remember this is late game head-injured Dutch we are talking about.
@simonster-9094

Dutch could've also suspected multiple rats, as many players also do. Which would explain why he was paranoid and distrustful of everyone in Beaver Hollow.
@ouroboros5793
10 ай бұрын
Oh my lord the "head injury" theory. Give it a rest, y'all take this crap theory is canon. Dutch at the beginning of the game holds a facade over who he really is. By chapter six, both you and Arthur, not only see through it but he drops it multiple times around Arthur, stating what and who he is through his actions, words, and thinking (which was always consistent before and after the trolley). Dutch even actually takes Arthur through his plan when talking about using the indians while on one of chapter 6's missions, to Arthur's chagrin and Arthur starts (and the player should as well) realize Dutch is a user of people in need and an opportunistic idealist, in that, he will betray his scruples when he sees fit, not adhering to any of the bs he spouts. And he never did.
@themadtitan7603
10 ай бұрын
@@ouroboros5793 Thank you. I dislike that theory because it reduces Dutch's descent (or expose of his true madness) to just being a looney tunes bump to the head. I think the point of the story is that he always had a darker, bitter and narcissistic side that was balanced by his altruistic side and the friends he surrounded himself with for years. His demons had been slowly resurfacing for quite a while before RDR2, and when the Blackwater Massacre happened, it reached a boiling point and he snapped. The whole game is just him trying to show the gang that he's still put together and that was just a momentary, impulsive action. While having bursts of ego and anger that put doubt in the gang that he knows what he's doing. But as his plans keep failing, the gang members drop one by one and the walls closed on him, the gang started questioning him, tugging at his ego. His demons finally surfaced and he showed the narcissistic, vindictive manipulator that he always was. He barely cares about putting a facade and only surrounds himself with those who follow him blindly. It's why he pushes away Arthur and John. There isn't a proper plan anymore, he just wants to stick it to the forces that opposed him, mainly, the government. By using the Wapiti as a crutch.
@simonster-9094

I think it's more to do with them running out of time to update New Austin to 1907. The empty, decript version we see was meant for 1899 when Arthur goes to it. The fact that he can't in the final game is one of the most baffling decisions imo.

Did you ever do a vid about the hidden statues North East of the turtle house? I always wondered what that was about.
Easy way to find #3 Dead Mans treasure is ride just north from Carmody Dell (where you steal the wagon from Seamus' cousin) into the start of Cumberland forest region. Go just past that 1st little road that heads east and set up a camp anywhere north and you spawn right next to that treasure

@@saulgoodman1407 It was mostly due to how much got changed late in development. Originally, Arthur was able to do a lot in NA & apparently some plans for some Mexico missions that never really came to fruition due to time constraints. Strange Man has went over a chunk of it, but Arthur has a lot of unused dialogue, sketches, and even a couple locked cutscenes (that you can still see with Mods, or doing some tricky stuff with prepatched physical copies of the game). At some point in later in development they reworked it and made NA a John exclusive area, instead of allowing them both there. Sucks they never finished Mexico, or really much of it at all. They culled out anything that was left of the buildings there except for El Presidio. Though you can tell they pretty much just dumped the whole map from RDR1 into the newer game engine. You can still hear Mexico music in some places, see a lot of the landmarks, and even hear the ghost dog if you glitch down there. It's a shame.
@themadtitan7603

@StuartLugsden 100% agreed. RDR2's new locations were iconic and well thought out, while the RDR1 areas (specifically New Austin) felt like an afterthought. They should've either created a new western state or had deserts in Ambarino and gave us a more desertic Heartlands like it was originally.

This game is unbelievably good and awesome and detailed. I have just find about this channel and thinking to get back to the game. I just wish it to be have more "rewwarding" for exploring and uncovering secrets in the game or for example to have more option on spending money. Watching videos like this is so awesome, and really my only critic is - to have some more unique items (even though there are a quite few), and sometimes not just find coins etc, but to have the ability to spend it on worthful things. Like buying or how could not be the best thing to have chance building some house or any other property? or at least buy something more that have a higher value - like a hotel or a business etc. ALTHOUGH there won't be a game like this for many many years, and that just said :(
Details that would seem senseless are what makes this sandbox seem so alive

0:47 I think I came across that and never found it again (Because I forgot where it was) and had no idea what it was.
I bit odd that the battlefield hospital wasn't a pile of rubble, rust, decayed wood and rotten cloth since weather conditions since it was abandoned would have basically destroyed it. There's no way it would have been found in such excellent condition. In the case of the Murfree Wagon, Arthur should have had the option to collect all of the stuff, hook up his horse and take the wagon back to the camp for supplies. They would have been thrilled to get new useful items.
