What are your thoughts on the ZWO SEESTAR ?
@DobsonianPower
9 ай бұрын
@jeffjones2740 i prefer the Dwarf or the 6" Virtuoso. I was contacted by Zwo to review it and i declined.
Well, as I was packing up my Astrophotography rig including my iOptron Mount, Orion Refractor, DSLR eyepiece projection tube, eyepieces, calibration and ZWO tracking camera, Astroberry, Shoestring Astronomy FCUSB, Car Battery, 12v to USBC/USB Power Supply, Camera, Cords, and Laptop I decided maybe the Dwarf II would be ideal for a night like tonight. It's partly cloudy, no guarantee of a clear view of Comet C/2022 E3 ZTF. After reviewing the video of Tiago getting a successful photo of the comet with Dwarf II I figured I'll give the Dwarf II a try. I'll update the channel with my findings.

I just purchased one and am looking forward to getting it and trying it out.. I saw that it is possible to take gigapixel panorama shots. In a future video could show how to do that.

Such an Awesome Video Thank You!
Thanks Tiago. I think given the very small aperture, you cannot set too high your expectations. Certainly The Horsehead nebula and Thors Helmut are really a bit beyond this scopes intended target range but you were able to see them which is impressive. Since it appears that it tracks to compensate for the rotation of the Earth, how easy is it to set it up? I’m asking because this would be a fun scope to take on trips and speed of set up is important.

Hi! Wondering if you've tried Barlow lens or focal extender on the Dwarf II (possibly with adapters) to image planets or DSOs...

You should track their webpage for news because they are releasing iphone version.
Any camera with a digital sensor has the same effect when the sensor get hot. Even with my DSLR when I take a long sequence of night photos with very long exposures will get hot. Dwarf ii uses the same sensor which will give the same issue.

Can I ask a question please? Is it worth to buy it or not? Because I’m 14 and love to explore cosmos etc. So buying it for too much cost is fair? This is the first to buy a telescope so.. If not this can u recommend other..

Yes it's worth it you also have this kzread.info/dash/bejne/pGSNxLmycbeno6Q.html if you want to watch visually but then you need to buy a camera for pictures so the dwarf is a cheaper way to start and take everywhere with you

Welp, it seems real nice and interesting but the turn off is planets. What is the problem with doing planets? I’ve noticed another beginner auto scope that has the same capability and deficiency. Is it the focal length? Moon is good, sun is good, deep space is good, but not in between? Thanks
@DobsonianPower

Yeah. That's the truth to all of these smart telescopes. They can't handle everything and planets are too bright and too small for them.

Tiago, I created a Dwarf II configuration for Stellarium, I created an entry for Dwarf II wide, Dwarf II Telephoto, and the Sony IMX415 sensor. I wanted to get a sense of what was viewable with Dwarf II. Can you capture an image of "The Lost Jewel of Orion" with your Dwarf II to see if it matches my expectations ? The Sculptor Galaxy looks like it will be a a great target and "The Witch Head Nebula" may be may be a viable target too !

Maybe in the future. Now i will be 100% with the dobs for the comet
For Astronomy you don't want the IR filter on, turn it off. The IR cut filter is for daytime use
@rajantechie

exactly what I was thinking
@tarang221

IR cut filter is needed for planetary night photography in case of IR sensitive camera and also for emission nebula.
@boaty1968

Incorrect you reduce star bloat with the IR cut

@Tarang Ban no ir only for planets. For astrophotography they modify cameras to take out the ir cut filter. For planets yes, DSO NO

@noahsgaming9744 you can and it's one of the best objects in the dwarf 2. Orion nebula a good one as well
The controls for this telescope are too finicky for me. I'd personally be more into a smart telescope that uses a Windows PC for its "brains". Something fully automated for the best results. Like a home observatory that I can put in the yard, set it up, then leave it to do everything.
What if... the device identifies the stars and merges the image with a internal recorded HR map of sky...?

Taking darks gets rid of those hot pixels, you do this with astro dark mode. Also as this is not a cooled camera gives hot pixels and the only way around if is cooling the sensor, which is why dedicated astro cameras have cooling to go way past 0 degrees
@DobsonianPower
Жыл бұрын
Nope. Before this firmware upgrade the darks were doing nothing live stacking and now they are working while stacking.
Are the pictures and videos of fake copy of the original size comparison of a 2 inch telescope? Or are you actually looking at what you want. Galaxies planets the Moon.
