I’m moving to H Town, because of the network with sports media.
I’ve been debated over mover to Houston since 2018!!! I was born and raised near the ArkLaTex border. This video really helped
I was honestly getting sad and down-hearted by the many negative sentiments that people hold towards Houston, often those from other states. But this enlightens my spirit, since I am a native Houstonian and I am proud of my city.

We are expected to move to Houston for my husband`s job - he now reports to HQ in Houston - however, I am too scared of the crime rates and that people carry guns. Do you mind telling me what life is like there? Do you feel threatened all the time, worry about kids at school, or worry about saying something if there's something wrong done against you? We are planning to visit before making a decision, though it would be just for multiple days and don`t think it is enough time.
When I came from Cali and seen the love I was like wow. I would love to live in Texas. Im moving soon!

I been houston for 2 decades but the summer is worst for me and humid and when it floods too I hate it and the mosquitos, but Really hate how spread out is cuz i have drive everywhere it takes like 35m to get where I want to cuz traffic is worst it reminds of LA, and it get boring one you try everything in downtown lol but girl you should do some research before u got here about raising a family, it ghetto out there houston, I see it all I got robbed at parking lot downtown , there shootings and murders everyday on news and robbery downtown💀 yeah they got park and places like arts, ect everything u can name of for kids but dam i be sweating when I would walking around that park at summer time 😅 good thing they have water parks For that hot, sticky, humid summer ! Austin’ tx is best place to live, I travel there. But stay safe, u know downtown has its sketchy situations take off from Migos was murder downtown so be careful, there good and bad there I’m telling you cuz I’m been here 2 decades.

New subscriber and you guys are doing an awesome job pointing out pros and cons in Houston... I am from Houston born and raised it makes me feel good to here so many positive feed backs from new residents. I have traveled outside Houston one time and that was to Chicago... To be honest I wanted to move to Chicago, but the weather stop me 😳😳😳... If I was cold natured I think I would have made that move... Next on my travel list is New York and California. To be honest guy's most Houstonians do not travel much... If you guys get a chance visit Lucille's restaurant it is black owned and they play jazz on Thursday. Also we have Top Golf and Andrette for the kids in Katy... Also visit the Razzoo's restaurant in the fountains... Also we have the Turkey Leg Hut restaurant which is black owned... You guys have a beautiful family and God bless you on this new journey💝💝💝...

Weather beats up north hands down. It was 70 degrees in H town yesterday. More pleasant year round. The hot summers last about 2 months. Most times the temperature hangs in high 90’s during the summer. A few weeks, it may be in 100’s but that’s when you stay inside with the AC lol. There’s a lot of good neighborhoods for young people. Would recommend you’d stay closer to downtown than the burbs (like midtown and uptown). They’re usually busy areas with a lot of movement.

@@HanginWithTheYoungs Thanks a lot! I was seeing those areas when I was doing some research too. I know it's a bit optimistic (from what I've read) to live without a car, but I'm hoping perhaps downtown I can make that a reality. I despise cars. I suppose you're right about the AC. I guess 100 degree days beats -40 with a foot of snow every time lol

Heat in Dallas is more dry. There isn’t a body of water nearby so it can feel hotter. Houston is humid. We’re close to the gulf so more precipitation. Both get hot. I think Dallas gets cooler in the winter.

@HanginWithTheYoungs
2 жыл бұрын
It’s true, Texas is like the 7th highest in the US with property taxes. I don’t know how Cali ranks but the value for homes in Cali is much higher so your costs would offset (what you’d be saving in home value, you may slightly pay towards property taxes). Of course, this depends on the home you buy in TX, you may even save. We came from chicago, Illinois which is like 4th in the US so for us it was a savings. Texas also has a homestead exemption you could file for that will give you about a 20% relief each year.

Houston is definitely a good city to raise a family. The weather can get super humid. Im sorry but Dallas isn't a good place to raise a family and 80% of the people in Dallas cannot drive neither. Are maybe because they have so much road construction everywhere. The roads are terrible too
