Bought the NEX-F3 on eBay yesterday. I had this camera before in 2014, but it drowned in the Indian Ocean. I missed this camera so bad, I had to find it. I'm in love again.

I can't tell how much you've help me, i always look at the fancy, newest, expensives cameras, and here in Brazil an Sony A7iii it's over 15k reais (body only) the minimum wage its 1,2k, you have to work a full year and more to buy this camera, and i found it the sony nex c3 foi 600 reais, it's compact, mirroles aps-c, i shoot street photograpy for fun and this is camera has my heart for the price x benefit, thank you so much for showing me this camera!!!!

I can only agree with you. Especially using vintage lenses works great. I love the double tap function on the touch screen for focus magnification and pressing the shutter lighty to go back to the full Image - which strangely doesn't work on my A7iii. I'm happy with the images it produces up to ISO 800 (1600 is the limit in my opinion). If anyone is looking for a sharp vintage lens, I very much recommend the Pentax smc 50mm 1.7 for K-Mount which goes for around 30$ and performs great even wide open whilst being very compact. I mainly use it when going out, which let's me relax without having to worry about any expensive gear.

I was looking for a "new" camera as a wanted to get back into photography. I used to shoot with an SLR film camera from about 1980 until around 1998, I used to use a Cosina, fully manual, SLR for street shooting mainly. I loved that camera because it was so small and I could fit it in my pocket, it became an extension of me I didn't have to think about settings because there weren't any, as long as the shutter was over say 60 I could get a usable shot. Watching your videos where you talked about the NEX line of cameras reminded me of the way people thought of the Cosina cameras at the time, the people who knew how good they were kind of kept it quiet. Anyway, to cut a long story short I got the chance to have a Sony NEX 6 for a month and if I liked it then I could buy it. I have had it for two weeks now and I just went ahead and bought it, it is an astonishing little camera for photography as especially street work, I'm sure people think I am just using a mobile phone so ignore me, it perfect I cant wait to start using my old PK lenses on it, focus peaking ingenuine. Thank you for the recommendations for the NEX line and thanks for the great videos.

I just picked up a NEX 5 for like $20 i tried my konica vintage lenses on it. It's definitely has a different look than my other higher end modern cameras. The raw files produce some very cool images. I'm not impressed with the jpgs, just ok. But the raw files do develop nicely. The focus peaking is pretty good, i shoot aperture priority, i adjust the compensation, and it's very consistent. So once i get it dialed in I can mostly just shoot. It was not banged up but someone left it in a dusty box without a lens. I just wiped the dust of the sensor, and it's working fine.

I'm crazy. Since I couldn't decide, so I finally bought two systems: Sony Nex and Canon M. I found a good deal on a Canon M100 with the kit lens for $250usd and found a Sony Nex 3 with the 16mm and 18-55mm for $125usd, used but like new, with the sony bag.

Which one of those nex series camera would you recommend for live streaming and taking photos?

My Nex 6 still takes great pictures and decent video's.

I impulse grabbed a 5r used w/ nikon case + stock lens + flash, from a pawn shop few months ago (180 CAD I believe, about 140 USD, knowing sony made killer mirrorless from the original A7 I owned years ago (with zeiss lenses.. fking amazing but $$$$). I didn't expect it to be incredible, but did expect it to be solid. However, this camera is friggin nuts, it actually is incredible! I was surprised by the clarity and colour from what I guess is the stock tele lens it came with. The 35 or 55mm zeiss + a7 beats it, as it should obviously, but this thing is no joke, and doesn't cost like $800-1100 CAD for the zeiss lens and hundreds for the body. It's insanely good value. For like 10% of the price of an A7 setup, you're getting probably 75-85% of the quality I'd say, maybe higher with better lenses even. Thats definitely no joke. Even a camera 75% as good as a $1500-2000 setup is pretttty fucking good still lol. Agree with this video for sure, the 5R at least is an insanely good cam for the age, size, and price.

Hi I have an NEX 5n, here's a question: Is it possible to use my 2014 Macbook Pro as a video monitor using a cable from the camera? Do I need to install some kind of software or app to make this happen? Or is it possible at all? Thanks and let me know if you know

I have a Sony Nex-6, purchased in 2013. Took great pictures of many hiking trips. Have always had issues with moisture affecting functionality. Then had a bad battery issue which seemed to mess up the menu functioning. Replaced batteries and seemed to work properly again. Then, took it on a recent backpacking trip where it was very moist. Menu functions started automatically running through various menu settings, and couldn't really stop things. Still, I got some fantastic photos from the hike with my Nex-6. However, I'm thinking that it may be time to replace the camera, because on the trail, 5-7 days out at a time, reliability is critical. So, any recommendation on a different camera or upgrade? Do any cameras still use these lenses? I do have a nice telephoto lens for the Nex-6. I like the size and handling of the Nex-6. I hope to advance my skills to time-lapse and other videos for vlogging. What is the best water-resistant camera, possible extra housing for water-tightness? Maybe you have addressed these issues in other videos. If so, please point me to them.

I totally agree with your words. I bought a Nex 5R, learned how to shoot video and now I'm thinking about upgrading, but the lenses will be the same. Nice camera, ideal for beginners. For photography it's just perfect for this price. The video is not that great, but still, this is a great starter camera.

@@MOZOGuitars video bitrate. It's not a true 1080p. However, I shot 6+ videos and they got 20k+ views. Nobody told me about video quality, people cared about the content itself. So it's not that important but I wanted to upgrade. Also if you do photography, viewfinder on NEX 6 is a nice option. But NEX system is a bit outdated, I'd choose A6000 or at least A5000 to get new Sony menus.

I bought the nex f-3 in december for $200 with the kit lens. I was using the nikon D90, and definitely it was a huuuge upgrade on my photography level. For it's price, it's an excellent camera.

@@demiancejas4413 I can speak for what the video sector is, I just looked for the T6 (1300D in Europe) which I have never had or tried, and I saw that it lacks a couple of video features, but I come from the 2000D which had even less features, but compared to the Nex6 it was better for photos, having Canon a more resolute sensor and a more comfortable viewfinder. if you are looking to make video, the Nex has more autofocus points, 60 fps in FullHD and a slightly, but slightly, better ISO resistance. just know that Nex does not have microphone and headphone jack input, which is strange but with a proprietary Sony microphone it is solved

What resolution are you recording with? It could be your export settings in your video editor, if you export at too low of a bit rate it can crush the quality.

Sony makes a 30mm macro lens that I've heard good things about. I've never used it but I'd recommend checking out some reviews of it! 😁

The only think that is disapointing , is that their is no silent shutter until A61000, but i really like my A6000 with sel18105 and my nikkor 50mm 1.8. I just bought an "old " GX7 micro 4/3 as second camera hope it will enjoy me like the A6000, and i will have silent shutter , that important for me now.

Can also be used in astrophotography 🌠

No joke, NEX is the best cheap mirrorless ever, even nex1, video quality is super, I used nex 5n , want to upgrade for nex6/7 😁, nex is underrated with super power camera ,hahahaha, just one problem, over heat 🤣

I just purchased the NEX 5N at a Pawn shop for 120.00. Remains to be seen if it's a sweet deal or not.

The Sony 16MP sensor in the NEX 5/6/7 is special and would not be repeated. It's the same like in the early Fujis. However, if you want to buy it for video, my sincere advice is to skip all of these and jump straight to the A6000, just spend the little more money and look for deals. It has the XAVC-S codec which is day and night difference compared to AVCHD.

Shame that these great cameras have a hybrid metal/plastic lens mount bayonet that gets wobbly and loose overtime. The simple fix is buying the Tough E-mount lens mount conversion kit which is a full metal bayonet like the Sony a6300 and later cameras.

can Sony Nex 5 ( not the N or R) do 1080 60fps?

@@ryanloonyleewoods3164 The 5000 series is gonna be better overall, with higher megapixels, and newer sensors with better low light. But with the price difference, you could buy a decent lens with the 5T for the same price so the difference in quality might not be worth it especially if you already have the 5T. you should of got the NEX 6... body sooo close to the a6000

They were the best cameras on the market 10 years ago and still they are great Now in these days in 2023 there were only improvements with tracking and.other things so yeah it is up to you to upgrade but I will not maybe later

I found another hack for my Sony Nex5n 😅🔥🔥😅 hohem isteady multi gimbal for $100 has max payload of 400grams... with my Sony Nex5n weight being only 265grams and 390grams with the sel1855 lens .... make it perfect for this cheap 3 in 1 gimbal with 400grams payload support and it has mirrorless camera plate on it

I haven’t uploaded yet because I was having problems with my laptop 💻😅 it’s always something messing up my productivity on KZread but I got it back working... the footage is amazing can even do dolly zooms... I’m working on a video now.. I just been tryna make sure my editing is good with this asus x540s laptop 💻 it’s a slow process 😂😂😂
