Sorry for my english, i speak dutch. Last week I made a video about 'picturesque streets' in my city of Mechelen. Since the video was too long, I split it into two episodes. It is striking that the first video does much better than the second. I don't understand why, the responses are good, but the second one barely gets any impressions.

I got mine about 20 ish hours after requesting!

I made the made the mistake of telling a few of my friends about my channel. They subscribed but they don’t watch. Same with posting on Facebook.

What I'm finding since lockdown, and having to vlog about much more mundane things, people are really liking my grocery shopping videos. I really don't want to grow that topic as I'm a gigging musician in normal times and fully intend to go back to vlogging about that later. But it's so tempting to take the camera every time I go to a grocery store because I know it will make people happy, I'll get more views and a flurry of new subs... but then... I'll have even more subs that are hungry for grocery shopping videos!!

IIV, did you think about putting even a little of any music you have to your shopping vids (even a bar or two for an intro?). I put my mother-in-law to an instrumental I already had, and she was on beat already.^^ I also plan to put shopping in Korea as an element of vlogs, and, as part of this, will be inflicting more of my music on the KZread population (at least the brave). Most of my tracks used are just Microsoft stock for now, until I get organised, but here’s my mother-in-law and my music if you’d like a quick look: the “Omma Trains” vid under my vlogs folder (this was filmed pre 2020, as Koreans often wear masks in winter). I partly grew up way down south of you guys, near Bournemouth. All the best with the new daily vlogs!

I've noticed by changing my thumbnails up, I'm getting recommended by youtube. Out of the blue, a video took off and I noticed the thumbnail was different than my others. I have made similar videos with a similar thumbnail and it's getting views too. YOU'RE AWESOME ANNIE!!!

Very helpful. Thank you. I am slowly implementing your advice (and Brian and Nick's advice) and hoping my channel will grow eventually. No matter what happens, I am having fun doing it. I feel good knowing I am doing what I can to dispell the myths that vegan food has to be expensive, hard to make, boring and bland, etc... My goal is inspire and encourage people to cook at home so they know exactly what ingredients goes into their vegan food. And, making food at home is less expensive than eating in restaurants. Hopefully, when I follow the tips I see online more people will eventually see my channel. Fingers crossed. Thanks again for all your help. :)
