    As another photographer from the U.S., I will tell you Norway and Lofoten is one of my favorite places for photography by far. There is just so much there it's just a bit spread out, make sure to give yourself time or isolate yourself to a specific region.

    Hey. Norwegian analog landscape photographer here, trying to see if KZread is a good idea. Lofoten is not my usual area, but I have obviously been there some times. Lovely location and as you say rather unexplored in some areas. Another, maybe more unexplored area in the north would be Vesterålen and Andøya. Nice images at the end there, thanks for sharing.

    thanks for watching! be sure to have some sort of wind breaker since its coastal that can add to the cold temps for sure. also removable spikes are nice for hiking etc depending on your itinerary.

    Being a Floridian how do you withstand that much cold? Personally I freeze over at 30 degrees Fahrenheit 🥶 Have to be honest I’ve never heard of this place but now find it very interesting

    well I kinda look like a viking... so maybe that has something to do with it? I much prefer the cold over the South Florida heat. Definitely check it out if you can, Norway is awesome in general but this place is special.

    How was the ferry? I'm terrified of deep water, and I've heard that it can be very choppy. I would prefer it for the experience, but I am also worried about panicking if it's really rough.

  • @graham_white

    @graham_white

    The ferry is loaded down with vehicles and it’s pretty large so it may be a little choppy/wobbly at times but it never throws you around or gets violent. The size keeps it very manageable

  • @graham_white

    @graham_white

    weather changes year to year plus January is probably one of the least desirable months to go do to extreme weather, but again it depends on what your wanting to do while there. If your getting local information I would go with what they are saying.

    You would have to look up the current weather to know for sure, but November can be a great time to visit yes. The days are shorter but Northern lights have higher chances.

    October- January is very much low season in Lofoten because of typical bad weather. It's dark yes, but you need clear skies to see the aurora and therefore the more stable February-March is the high season for aurora watching. But as a photographer I think October and November can be some of the most exciting times of the year! How was your trip in November, Shreyansh? :)

    Hi! Can I rent a car in Lofoten? Or just in bodo and travel with the car in the ferry to the islands?

  • @graham_white

    @graham_white

    2 жыл бұрын

    You can do either. Although I’m not sure the rental situation since covid, I’m sure supply is smaller. We rented in lofoten which I would think is cheaper than ferry but could be wrong

    Lofoten is unbelivable. The landscapes are awesome, althoug I prefer Iceland. The only cons is the price of things in there. Since their country has a good lifestyle and wealth, stuff are pretty expensive.

  • @graham_white

    @graham_white

    4 жыл бұрын

    Agreed, price is definitely a hindrance, but Iceland isn't exactly cheap either, except of course flying there is much easier. I think they each have very different thinks to offer. I have been to both places twice and I'm torn, Can't say I prefer one over the other.

    @Graham White, I see you like landscapes. You should check Portugal. I like Gerês, Serra da Estrela, Arouca ( Passadiços do Paiva). These areas are located North of the country. 👍
