Most of the KZreadrs doesn't show the negative side of RE...Great work...This bike doesn't have any positive point for suggesting this bike to anyone..If we ask RE lovers why do they love it, then they will simply says, 'it's a feeling' but will never talk about negatives😁

I have been biking since 1990, started with chetak (Dads) , Rajdoot 350, Rx 100, Honda Karizma, Pulsar 220 now HARLEY 48 , this was never in my list and will never be because its a common milkman's bike in india in thosedays and even now.

I have owned an RE for 4 years and sold it last month. Here are my thoughts as to why you should not buy one: Pick up - the bike was really peppy and would swiftly go upto 90-100 when it was new. Within a year or so I noticed it was a struggle to get there. Horrible vibrations - I know it depends on the bike and how it's maintained. I spent countless amount of time and money to keep it as good as new. And I have noticed vibration in all REs I have ridden. I used a GOQii fitness band and by the time I would have ridden 20 kms the band would add about 5000 steps. Engine refinement and tappet sounds - you cannot imagine the knocks and sounds you will face when you own one of these machines. The showroom advises users not to go beyond 60 during the first 2k kms. I did all that and had a ridiculous knocking sound in the engine. It's a common problem and RE is adamant to fix the damn problem. Although the tappet sounds are far less in RE500, the engine sounds horrible after driving about an hour in peak traffic. The engine definitely lacks the refinement of modern ones. Cost of maintenance - I used only synthetic engine oils and the bike takes about 3 litres of it, which itself is 3k. Adding to that, the bike's rear drum is useless. The brake shoes will last about 1500 kms or 2k if you stretch it. A specialist mechanic who deals with REs exclusively will charge you about 1200-1500rs for service. Plus, small spares and everything will add up quickly. Roughly, you spend 5-6k on an average service. Spares are ridiculously expensive. Chain sprocket is 2900rs before GST was implemented. I am not sure now. I can easily maintain a car for that amount. Poor after service - the free services are a joke. In the first service, they will change the engine oil. In the second service, they asked if I wanted to top up the engine oil or replace with new. Obviously, I chose the latter but most people just top it up. One friend had his engine rebuilt as a result of this. They take in about 100 bikes everyday for service with an average of 7-8 mechanics. Do the math. Tyres - spoke wheels and tube tyres. The bike weighs a ton and in case of punctures you are screwed. Most often than not, the tube is useless after the puncture. Just the heavy weight of the bike ruins your tube. Pushing these bikes is no option as well. Some Pros after the endless list - I have now switched on to an Avenger and I certainly miss the heavy bike and it's road grip. The disc brakes are really good. Everyone in your family or friends get really excited when you own one. Everyone wants to ride it. Although the bikes are now mass produced and almost every 3rd or 4th bike is an RE nowadays - at least in Bangalore. I would strongly recommend you against these machines. They are white elephants and take a lot to upkeep them. The old REs were really meant to last a lifetime but these new ones are made of alluminium engines and won't last more than a lakh kms. I bought my RE as a result of love for these machines from my childhood. It was heartbreaking to realise these new bikes had lost all the character that the predecessors had. EDIT ** Thanks for all the comments and the upvotes. With the new 650 cc engines coming in, they have twin cylinders. Twice the trouble i suppose. With 2 cylinders, the bike will have more moving parts now and more moving parts translate to more vibrations and more knocking sounds. As they did with Himalayan, the first batch of the bikes were recalled for engine sounds, This as usual will continue with these new bikes as well.

I am really sad to write this but yes I am really saddened by the way my Classic 350 which has not even completed its one year has come out to be. My details are: Model: Classic 350 Regn date: 12.06.2017 Color: ASH The Okhla service center in South Delhi from where I have purchased my bullet has kids employed for servicing these high end bikes and I have almost replaced every part of it so no point I mention the list here. Such a highly costing bike and most importantly your dream bike comes out to be such a disaster. Every ten days I land in the service center with some complaint or the other. They temporarily solve the issue and again some other problem or the same problem pops up in a week or so. Now the battery has some issue or the charger the royal enfield and amaron are fighting. The royal enfiled service center says the battery is weak get it changed from amaron and amaron says that the charger of the bike is wrong. I am stuck with just wasting my days in the service centers. I have been given a DEFECTED bike with lot of problems in it. I am just clueless as to what to do now. No authority to approach.. no questions being resolved. I need a replacement for my bike. Please this is not the kind of harrassment you provide to a customer. Not expected from Royal Enfiled atleast. Help your aggrieved customers or else the company would not be able to survive many more days with such harassed and frustrated customers.

Yes it's a donkey vehicle, guys kindly read it properly. Bike price is 180000+ 5insurance + road tax+registration. spare parts high rates . Showroom mechanic are not experienced. Always service center suck our money. Bike don't have fuel gauge. We could not fill tank full petrol.if we fill petrol leak from tank cap. We could not go 80 speed ,if we cross 80 speed fuse will be short circuit. Bike won't start with our battery or dead battery. Engine oil capacity is 3 liters , a car can be serviced with 3 liters engine oil, Chains procket ,has to change for every 5000 kilometers, price 4000 Mileage is 30, petrol rate is 87 I have seen few vehicles ,not even crossed 20000 kilometers , engine got seized. Lot of vibrations, u cannot ride at least 60 kilometers.nonstop. Battery has to change every year. Conclusion: Instead of buying a royal enfield, you can maintain a second family.

There is nothing wrong with the bike, It is the matter of maintenance. Poor workmanship at service centers, no qualified or technically sound manpower at service centers add up to the problem. RE is selling bike with poor quality equipment to Indian market to cut down the cost and to stay abreast of the competition. Export models are better it seems, because if they export these types, they will be rejected outright. RE lovers may not bother about the cost of they get their money's worth equipment

people supporting re let me ask you something What do you need in bike? Safety - To stop a heavy motorcycle you need good brakes, re 350 or 500 doesn't even a back disk brakes, ABS - those who don't know about this life saving safety feature must google it and understand what the term is and re does not have it. Comfort - I have gone for ride from Bangalore to Mysore, i rode both bullet and avenger i found the sitting position and handlebars position more comfy on the avenger than bullet, Cruising at more than 80kmph the vibration kick in, it is very terrible. Avenger is far better. And the pillion rider was very exhausting due to the vibration on the bullet. Speed- okay you don't want speed, go for a splendor. Technology - nothing, no fuel gauge, no side stand warning, no trip meter. Even a splendor have a fuel gauge. And im not comparing slpendor with re, just saying. Just say why(please don't say pride. Its not so special, any one can buy it).

I have no idea who sold you THAT classic 350 which I think is a great mess! Vibrations when topped 50-60? Me and my friends and all classics I have seen cruises comfortably till 80-85 kmph atleast. Less performance? And you compare that to a 100cc ? Torque Brother! Torque! Power in motorcycle terms is just speed.. Your petrol tank, shock joints and whole chasis has rusted. Did it get an acid rain ? Fuel guage, yea, the only way to know how much fuel is left is what you showed :D but it has a reserve with which we can run more than 50 kms. You can fuel it up when it turns to reserve. Maintenance issues and costs are right, but for THAT classic 350, it has to be more. Its not just a rough used one, seems an abused motorcycle :D Video was funny though :D (Y) Mithun; Rider. 1,34,000 kms - classic 350; 3 year old(motorcycle)

correctly said! most people here tell vibrations hits them at below 60. but my friends and relatives have this bike and i fairly ride them upto 80 to 90 without vibrations. moreover they are 1 and half yr older vehicles. next thing is torque. its pulling power is much more efficient than other bikes which can barely pull the considerable weight of rider and pillion in less rpm in this segment.

And looking at the state of your bike one can easily assert how you neglect it. I have covered over 10000 kms in less than 5 months and my bike still looks in its week-1-state. No rusting anywhere. Compared to classic standard is better. Many people buy classic just becuase of it's look. Classic adopted new technologies which caused many issues for the bike. The standard engine is the legendary model. And you cannot compare it with other bikes. They havent changed almost nothing to maintain the old look and feel. Royal Enfield is a legendary motorcycle which is here for more than 100 yrs now. It is still there because people value it. If you want low maintable bike buy a ct100. In the other video you are praising this same bike, and this makes no sense.

Indian Car And Bike Network Hi, thanks for the video. I agree with you 100% the bike is totally not worth especially if you are in a coastal area things get even worse. Let me explain the reasons why: 1. My younger brother bought a Classic 350 back in 2011 straight out of the showroom the bike's front suspension started to jerk whenever the front brake is used. I assumed that this might be due to a faulty disk plate. Ans: RE folks tell me they will get the issue fixed during the next service as they think that this was due to insufficient brake fluid or the pump in the brake fluid cap. A year has gone by and when I asked my brother for his bike I was surprised that the issue still wasn't fixed despite repeated complaining and finally the folks at RE said that this was infact a faulty disk plate issue and since the bike is out of one-year manufacturing warranty they can't help. Felt that they lack ownership right from the start. 2. Silencer: The exhaust pipe started making a different exhaust note right about 5.5 months of purchase again RE folks said that they will try and get this fixed. 3 months down the line the exhaust pipe rot with rust and an ugly hole towards the side closer to the swing arm and that came rotting upwards and became an ugly sight. Helpless with REs response after each service my brother decided to get an exhaust elsewhere with his own money as the sound was too horrendous to bear. 3. Rust: I keep my Fazer outside mostly and used it go to beach almost every day back at my hometown. My previous Fazer was bought about a month before the RE in 2011 I rode close to 1.2 lakhs within 2.5 years and only changed 2 rear tyres 1 front tyre and chain sprockets disk pads and brakeshoes are very cheap to replace and my bike didn't experience any sort of a rust accumulation. On the other hand my brother's RE clocked 65000 KM's by the same time and there was rust visible almost on every part of the bike including the area near the T-Fork. The highly corrosive low quality bars they use to make this bike is deadly in case there is a break of the chassis under unfortunate circumstances. RE could take customer feedback seriously and they should start an Andon Cord process to make the production line identify fix and resume manufacturing as soon as they discover a potential flaw in design or quality of the material used.

If you're young, not fat and someone who like to keep girl at bay while outing on a ride don't go for RE. Still once you get old, fat and at a period of middle life crisis when you finally realised that you ain't getting your youth back no matter the hair cut or the clothing's you choose and at that fearful stage where you lose pretty face to an old, hairy and wrinkled face RE awaits you. It doesn't look appealing for an old fat twats riding race bikes. Bikes should match your personality. Don't ditch RE that hard. 15 years later you will have the same teenage rush and that wild blood of manhood in you but not your youth. we'll be forced to opt for a cruiser (even for a city ride and why not?). Racer and cruisers are like cheese and wine. Everything forget that.
