Hahah ikrr, when I was looking up uni vlogs I literally thought the same thing. As for grades, each class is curved differently and that depends on the prof and how the class performed on average. It's usually curved more for the calculus classes and some engineering ones (not too sure of the rest). The environment's one of healthy competition so it's just the right amount and won't stress you out a lot. Hope that helps! And thanks for watching, I appreciate it :)

I’m really struggling between here and uiuc. Got admitted for industrial engineering at both. I’m likely going to want to switch the computer science tho. Is it hard to switch to cs. If so do you think I could take classes in industrial engineering that will give me a strong cs background.

Hey Tim, congrats on the admissions! It's easier to switch out of the College of Engineering here than it is to get admitted to it, so I'd say it's easier to switch. There are some CS classes you could take as electives for Industrial, but not a lot are required

Hey Siddharth, you can try sending them an email but I don't think they offer very high scholarships for international students. I may be wrong as I haven't looked into this, but if you or someone else find out, reply and let me know!

Tuition info for your program can be found on their website but you can save money by becoming a TA (teaching assistant) for a class

hi i rmb u said that it costs around 55k usd/yr to go to uw madison as international students, but does this 55k include everything, like parties(i wont go a lot tho), daily necessities or weekend spendings...? hey! The spending is including food, parties, etc. but that's only according to what I personally spend - it may vary for you depending on how + where you spend your money. having a campus job can help pay for those "extra" expenses that you have other than study-related ones. my friends and i are in our apartment for the semester (we were here last sem too) and we don't plan to move back home. most other international students are here too! as i said in the video, your first year expenses might be a little more (around $60k) cuz you have to spend on more stuff that time, but other than that $55k or maybe $58 is a good estimate :)

Madison is all about engineering or research as well?

they're a pretty good research uni too - you can find more info on that on the specific grad school page / research page for the department you're looking for

Congrats on the admissions! They're both great places - UW Madison's CS program is getting waaay more competitive, so I'd take that into consideration fs. As for Penn State CS, idk much about that so it'd be hard for me to give you a definitive answer

I used to live in Smith (southeast), but I think Dejope (lakeshore) might be pretty good - I'm not too sure about lakeshore dorms so don't quote me on that 😂

I’m doing my Bsc in Industrial rn and some of those classes line up with the MSc courses too - they’re usually ~60 people and lectures might be for 50mins to 1.5 hours each (either 2/3 times a week). Not too sure about other MSc stuff but class sizes usually decrease after that and you get a good amount of interaction with your profs. ISYE is applicable in a lot of fields so I think employment possibilities will be p good. All the best for your application!

Well, I can’t give a 100% objective answer but I made it here so evidently not so much 😂

My grades are so low below average from state boards in 11th cbse i got 75℅ and 12th hoping for 90℅ i got get in a good school i have decent extra curriculars but it wont help i can write good essays but idk :( even if i do get in some tier 3 school i wont get good scholarships and i cannot afford :(((

Hey, I got accepted into UW Madison for CS but I'm not sure whether I should attend or not. It seems like a lotta people got accepted into UW Madison for CS and that makes me feel as if it's not such a competitive school? I wish to study with students who would be smart and passionate regarding their subjects but I'm unsure whether UW Madison can provide that for me. What's your experience with your classmates? Do you think they're passionate about their subjects or do they just study for the sake of getting a degree?

Hey dude! I get what you mean, I kinda thought the same thing when I got admitted to Engineering, but it's actually the exact opposite; everyone here is quite motivated to study and learn new things, not only to get a good grade or get a job or something, but because they're actually interested in the classes. Ofc you'll find some people who study for the sake of getting a degree but those people are everywhere. From what I've seen UW Madison's rankings keep getting better every year, and there's lots of opportunities for you to challenge yourself. You could pursue an Honors in CS (guide.wisc.edu/undergraduate/letters-science/computer-sciences/computer-sciences-bs/#requirementstext), participate in a bunch of Hackathons, join Transcend Madison / GBeta / GAlpha if you're interested in startups, etc. I'm sure you'll find like-minded people here :)) Hope that helps!

Even after getting the federal pell grant, taking out huge loans and doing work study I think it might be difficult for me to pay for the university.
