Great contents, happens to a lot of us that the most popular strings not matching our taste which is fine since different strokes for different folks. Just seeing the tiltle without finishing the video, I would guess the Hyper-G and PTP 😂

It's important to say that how the string feels is very dependent on the racket. Hyper-G ... in the Pro Staff RF97A feels very good (for me) since it balances the stiff racket with a soft string (or even Hyper-G Soft). Hyper-G in the soft(er) Blade Pro feels really awful (especially at medium/lower tensions like 23kg and below), since the frame is soft already + the soft hyper-g feels very mushy and weird. Here the Tour Bite feels much better (for me). What racket(s) did you play most of the strings with? The Speed Pro 18x20?

Interesting... I find the cyclone to be a lto mroe lively and responsive than RPM blast. I also feel the difference in the different contact points very easily too. I string it quite high because of it's springyness and power. It will likely be very dependant on rackets. I use a Wilson Pro Staff 95s and I string it at 60lbs.

Thank you. I believe everyone has different play styles and preferences so it's not so much that the strings or rackets I try are bad, they are just sometimes not suited for my game.

Great videos and content! I recently got sent 3 strings to test. Tourna silver 7 tour, gamma moto soft, and head lynx tour. All in 17 g. What order do you think I should play test them in ?

I haven't tried the Tourna or the Gamma string you mentioned but I believe those are softer than the Lynx Tour so maybe you should save the Lynx Tour for last.

One of the few to pronounce Yonex like the Japanese would. I doubt I’ll like your recommendations. Tour Bite feels dead and stiff to me. Hyper-G feels more elastic. I found the Hawk Touch to be elastic and playable - probably my favorite of your non-favorites. I only put poly in the crosses now, due to arm problems. But before the arm problems, I played virtually all of them and decided my preferences.

Is Head Hawk touch similar with lynx touch ?

  • @opencourt808

Only in terms of comfort. I believe Hawk Touch produces better spin. Lynx Touch stiffens up on faster swings though. Both have good control.

How can the hyper g be both 'springy' and 'dead'?

  • @opencourt808

IMO, springy and dead are not opposite adjectives. I feel the Hyper G launches the ball on fast swings but when I try to hit sharp angles or drop shots, it doesn't give me enough feel

I think this is a matter of preference. I like thinner gauges so I would like the 120 better than 125. I heard the Bryan brothers use the Hyper G in a 115 gauge or something

In that case, the Confidential might be just right for you. The stiffness is supposed to be between Hyper G and Tour Bite.
