The weekly calendar is my grail watch then the regular aquanaut in steel

Watch. No.1 yes is the best looking watch on this planet IMO. Beautiful. If only to see one in the metal ..

Great selection and well presented.

Some lovely watches, that Calatrava weekly calendar is lovely and quirky. Would love to see some of the boutique grand seikos and some of the more interesting smaller brands - Nomos, Union, Stowa for us mortals.

Can’t help but feel impressed with this post. I also can’t wait to see this identical format for Grand Seiko as well. I bet 5 won’t be enough. There are just so many exquisite models that are produced in one specific year only.

TheWatchGuys well.. with all due respects Sir, wait till you see models with 62GS case, e.g: SBGA125, SBGA127, SBGH039 and USA-only Seasons collection :). Those may make you want to replace 2-3 GSs that you currently own. Those you have now are quality product but there are just better ones out there for just a little more, if not less money. I’ve also worn Snowflake for more than 2 years now and also a quartz gmt for a year. I stand firm in my opinion that 62GS case models are superior to both. Just sharing a piece of my experience here :).

Great choice, but many will never be in my collection, the 5212, the new 6007 and the 5711/12 would be more in my range , not sure they’ll ever call me for one. Thanks for sharing.

Damian, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on A. Lange & Söhne. Price wise (list prices), they are similar enough to Patek to call them the same. Finish wise... I'd err towards saying that Lange has the edge, although I've only had a close experience with 3 Patek's and 2 Lange's, and might have been making full use of the available imbibable beverages. Are there any Lange's on your watchlist? I could see a Lange 1 going well with your GT3. Maybe an 1815 Chronograph to serve as a German counterpart to the (achingly lovely) Swissness of Patek.

I've not really been exposed to the world of A. Lange & Söhne, so my experience is extremely limited. A friend of mine has a Datograph - which is just awesome.

Love the hand written face on that Calatrava beautiful thing!

Ahhh Patek Philippe all that history and all that fine watchmaking, yet for some reason they leave me pretty cold. Wish I could say I like the Calatrava but that could have any name on the dial. Still think the nicest you own is to quote a bloke you know well, the ‘Bog Standard’ Nautilus! However your enthusiasm and love for them shines through Damian. Love the passion. 😍

Dear Sir I am a great fan of the Patek 5205 in white gold or pink gold. It's a very beautiful and interesting annual calendar with travel time. I also like the Nautilus with travel time.

They are all stunning watches but my favourite is Patek Philppe 5271P it is just such a stylish watch. P.s have you seen the new Grand Seiko watches I think you will like the SBGJ237 in blue dial and there is the other one with green SBGJ239 dial both look amazing.

my 5 favorite Patek watches are 5170 G and I proudly own it, 5320 perpetual calendar, 5980 Nautilus Chrono, 5167 Aquanaut, 5212 weekly calendar The grail is your 5270 salmon❤

Love every watch, good luck on getting the 5726 in white, I wanted the blue face but G.Collins & Sons virtually laughed when I asked to be on their waiting list & refused to put me on it! I don’t have a buying history, just wanted the watch for early retirement present to myself, never mind, I’ll just have to watch your videos instead!

Love your work - the 400k nautilus is nuts but one persons “nuts” is another persons “chump change”, so all relative. Perhaps more importantly is these watches that consist of box ticking exercises, you know, these collections that have all the usual suspects. Your collection thankfully is far more imaginative than that. Under 400k I think there is much better bang for buck in FP Journes oeuvre or some other independents and besides you already have a pretty sweet nautilus I believe the albino one? Whichever way you go, keep up the good fight and keep doing it for passion for the craft and all the right associated reasons! Cheers Terry

I would love to own a Patek but Im sick of these hype around it. I would love to own the weekly calendar but I would never ever pay over retail at all. If I cant get it retail forget about it. The more people pay resellers the harder the market will be. I would look around there's a lot out there. Eyeing on Lange 1 moonphase white or black dial.

I didn’t know anything about Patek until a friend advised I pay a visit. I bought a simple Calatrava, and it all took off from there. I wasn’t aware of any hype, I heard about that later.

Another really nice video. I saw in another video you own a Hamilton chrono. Are you planning on adding to your collection the new Hamilton PSR in gold LE?

I love Patek but the prices have gone nuts since 2016. I find Lange now where I’m drawn to as the pre owned prices are sensible and quality is on a par or even better . I won’t entertain this market driven by speculators in cars or wrist watches. Great that you have a relationship with Patek AD that definitely helps matters. I think in the coming months we are going to see a correction in all but the rarest models. I think you mentioned you had 80 plus watches my question is do you find time to enjoy each one ?and do you ever think that a smaller more focused collection is the path you may take ?

Good question, Marcus. I think 100 watches it too many, but it is made up of clusters of mini-collections - each of which I get a lot of pleasure from. If I was getting rid of some in bulk, it would be my old Seikos, as I don't have as much affinity with them. I'd keep the sports watches, but the 70s and 80s Seikos would most likely go.

Good one Damian. I learned a lot and it was good to hear your passion. 👌 Dont't beat yourself up about the magnificent 40th Anniversary Nautilus. Even mega-money bags Producer Michael (Michael Blakely also English) who has diamond encrusted Daytona's, many beautiful Patek's, Audemar Piquet Royal Oak Offshore's, ludicrously expensive Jacob and Co's ALSO missed out on the 5711/1P 40th Anniversery Phillipe Patek. 🤷‍♂️ Michael admitted that by the time he wanted o n e it was 18 months later and the price had balloned to £280k. Earlier this year he was in a high end New York boutique and the 5711/1P was retailing at $US440,000. 🤦‍♂️

I don’t like personally nautilus and aquanaut, I’m more the great complication guy, in the sweetest 39ish mm form of it, my favourite is the 5170P, that I’ve bought at launch in 2017 only because I was in Rome and I see it in the shop window, and asking the AD he said me that the watch was there because a Patek inspector would come to check the store in the day. He gave me 60 minutes to think off, and after 15 minutes I was thinking about how to get away from my wife without getting killed. Unfortunately it's cold here underground but the ticking keeps me company.

late to the game but a very nice video. I can't truly get the Nautilus/Aquanaut style love fest. It and all the iterations (and homages from other manufacturers) are just plain ugly boring watches. I honestly wouldn't wear one if you gave me it, let alone spend money on one.. Your grail works in Salmon works -although far far I prefer my own grail The A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon With Salmon Dial but with diamonds ? hmm , we're in Producer Michael territory. So of your five without doubt the best watch for me is the weekly calendar. That is a very special watch that appears as you allude, to have been designed, approved and made from a love of watches perspective. My 'local' PP AD is on the next island so chances of seeing any here are remote but it's certainly on my radar. Sorry to be a bit longwinded :-/ Richard in Tenerife

5271 is just the dogs, but IMO 5270 is just stunning, top of my list. Shoot me down but the nautilus and aquanaut dont do it for me, the movements are amazing, granted, just dont like the design.

News-flash, anyone can post their timepiece on Chrono24 for any price they want. It doesn’t mean there will be a transaction. It’s frankly newly self minted watch fan boys like yourself who refer to the second hand value of a watch as the prime reason you are interested in it. Please go back to whatever hobby you enjoyed pre-2016 and leave the watch market in the hands of more competent and legitimate fans,
