Now that we have Infants, can Infants sleep or nap in tents too? I haven't been able to get around to testing that in the game yet, but it's something I'd like to know

OK, I had absolutely no idea that I could tell ghost stories in the tent?😳 Looks like my Sims's summer vacations are taking a new turn. Thanks! 😊

Two other cool things about Outdoor Retreat. If your sim has a high enough handiness, they can study the statue in Granite Falls and make it on the woodworking table. Also, if you have Eco Lifestyle, you can roast Grub Dogs on the campfire if you have collected grub meal from the insect houses. You don't need Eco Lifestyle to have a buggy meal though because if you collect beetles in Granite Falls, you can roast them on the campfire as well for a snack.

I have a musician sim right now and I had no idea about the campfire being able to raise both guitar and singing skills at the same time! Gotta add it to my lot asap!

I like using the tent to take my Sim to other worlds on the weekend - it feels a bit more realistic that way, at least if it's an outdoorsy sim. It's also a great way to get collectibles and harvestable since those need an overnight to respawn/grow

Thanks for this video, I really don't use Outdoor Retreat often enough. I only tend to use the world that came with the pack for my more outdoorsy Sims (the ones with traits like Loves Outdoors, Green Fiend, etc.). I know that my spellcaster Willow loves the place: if she needs a vacation from her Gardener career, then I just send her to Granite Falls for a couple of days. She has a lovely garden near her little hut, and she sells both her Alchemy potions and homemade candles in a little City Living little stall. She advertises the potions as herbal tea or kombucha, and pretends to be a regular Sim. But us players know the truth... Willow wasn't doing any false advertising, though: that tea really did make Mrs. Crumplebottom feel 5 years younger! No joke, Willow needs that stump chair in her life (might put that log couch and two of those in her garden), and she would be lost without her tent and cooler. Might jazz up the park in Granite Falls while I'm at it: love how you included rabbits from Cottage Living in your outdoors areas in the video, might place a few of the items there so I can have a few hopping around. Some birds probably wouldn't hurt the aesthetic either.

I didn't know that you could tell stories to other sims inside the tent!

Outdoor retreat is def one of my favourit packs, i love the hidden world. But I wish the sims team made it that you could collect bugs also throughout the other worlds if you own the packs.

Good idea for your latest video. Although Outdoor Retreat has been around for quite awhile, all the new Sim4 players that EA got with their making the base game free, are posting questions on fb asking fellow simmers what game packs they should buy. Getting more insight into what's available is something they want.

Louise :), Thank you so much for the super kind comment! It's definitely an old pack but this is actually the first time I've covered it at all! Haha crazy.

I am surprised you didn't mention the portable shower, very useful. I always have my sims bring it with them in the jungle as well. We have gotten more tents in snowy escape and batuu but never a second portable shower. And the portable picknick bench is also worth mentioning. You mention tents being available in other packs but why not coolers (1 in toddler stuff) and small campfires (1 in little campers kit)

I didn't know there was a horseshoe game object. All the things you cover are informative and sequenced very intuitively. Thanks for the effort and time you put into your videos. We all benefit.

I love Outdoor Retreat. Thank you for this video. I may add that after you rosted 3 or 4 marshmallow, the happy moodlet become a S'mores moodlet.

If you can use mods, I *highly* recommend finding the "coolers are cooling" mod, which lets the cooler fully act as fridges (including putting stuff in it to stay a bit). Outdoor Retreat was one of my first buys, and I never regretted it =)

Raising both guitar and singing skill at once? That makes the campfire both cheap and very powerful to have.

Always fun to let the kids have a sleepover in a tent in the backyard during summer vacation. I personally don't own the little campers kit but bet it would improve this idea.

Thank you for making a video on Outdoor Retreat. It's always my sims' go-to vacation destination as it's so peaceful.

I'm such a fan of the craftable garden pots. They're my favourite style. For an avenue of money trees, the square pot fits better than anythign else.

Journey to Batuu also has a tent! the gameplay of the pack may suck, but i love the bb

When you want to live in a micro residence a tent is a good alternative for a bed and the home does not need to set up space to hold a bed and space to get into the bed.

Can you do a guide on all base game traits and how effective it is and just your personal opinion on them

If I remember correctly, the more round tent can house 2 sims and the more square one can take up tp 4 sims

Just a tip, there's hidden tents in debug from the concert stuff they did a while ago. They aren't tied to any packs so you don't need outdoor retreat for them if you JUST want the tent. I don't know if they were removed or not.

I did that too! Only two of the lots are for rent now, with the rest being bars and nightclubs. I built a Nightclub for Werewolves only there.

Right so I’ve just realised… I have this pack but I don’t have granite falls on my game. WTF

Omg that would have been so useful! Now that I've heard this I too wish for this haha.

Pets can’t use rents which sucks when it’s raining.

Tents should be available like IN PUBLIC. not in any lot. Like public bathroom. So our option for the "homeless" sim besides napping on seat, we can sleep in the public tents.

I love outdoor retreat items!! Mostly cause I like playing outdoors and simulate Survivor among other things 😂 I totally did not know tents are a woohoo location though 🫢
