You reviewed Lock Laces a few months back and I can't thank you enough! I am 73 years old with some arthritis in my thumbs. All of my life, even when I was young, I would double tie my laces, but no matter what, after a few minutes, they would come undone. The double tying caused the top of my feet to hurt. I bought a few packs of Lock Laces and it has changed my life. They stay tied. They also don't need to be retied every day and because they are elastic, I can just slide my shoes on, but they still feel snug without being too tight. I've been using them daily for 2 months now and I really love them. For older people especially, they are a godsend. Thank you so much for reviewing these. I am sure I wouldn't have tried them (or even heard of them) if you hadn't reviewed them.

Yeah, those marks are caused by material that isn't dried enough before it's fed into the machine or not melted enough when in the barrel of the press. Its called "splay". Or at least that's what we called it at the place I worked for a few years. Usually it passes QC on cheaper, lower grade, or hidden components. You won't see it on higher grade parts that a consumer will see, like clear fridge shelves, or coffee maker housings.

@@970357ers True.. I live on a street near a bar and people like to come blazing down and wheel around our corner, my house is third from the corner and we had one guy hit my dad's van parked in front when I was a kid so he couldn't go sell stuff at the swap meet anymore, and a few years back my friend parked in front of my house and her car was totalled when someone came around and crashed into it, pushed it four houses away, and sped off. Now my brother likes to sit in his friend's car for hours instead of just hanging out in his room or something, I'm afraid one day someone will come around that corner and kill them both, he knows that's a target zone for drunk drivers coming around the corner. And if I'm walking to my house from the store I have often had to dodge cars barreling around that corner (no sidewalks on our streets), people just pay no mind.

It's not directly in front of the airbag so I don't think so, it would more likely get flung upwards. Think of the speed that the airbag is deployed, it would be past the phone and in your face before the phone had a chance to go anywhere.

An observation about the rubber band bookmark: It's got lots of flaws, but one thing it does that James didn't mention, it has a little arrow/finger pointing at a specific spot on the page. This could show you exactly where you stopped, or indicate a line that you want to remember, without marking in the book.

Yeah, I really like certain kinds of holders for specific things like hanging on a cupboard handle or the arm of a chair, those come in handy. I've never really needed to use a phone in a car even for maps, I read the map before I leave and then stop if I really need to look at it again, but usually they have audible directions anyway.

I would think the idea of having that phone on the steering wheel while driving is a bad idea in many fronts. Probablly illegal under distracted driving laws. Best used while parked. Keep your hands free to eat or drink. Best place for a GPS is to your left in the windscreen to not block the view. I think you risk injury and/or tickets. Best keep that in mind people. There are decent clip to the air vent phone holders out there that worked for me.

The weird discoloration on the black plastic from the steering wheel phone holder is called splay. It's a small defect which occurs during the injection mold process when the part is being made. Unless it's imperative that the part is "pretty", most companies will pass it as good since it doesn't take away from it's functionality.

It actually comes in handy because it's so tiny, you can leave it on your keys and it works for opening boxes on the fly. You also can't get into any trouble for carrying it because it's too small to be considered dangerous.
