    Im trying to differentiate periodic breathing and apnea, but theres not much videos on periodic breathing. My son breathes exactly as you demonstrated, kind of startle for breath then continue breathing normal for a few seconds, pauses for less than 10 sec, and does that startle motion again. He does it after each pause.

  • @DrPetesOffice

    Hi there. If your son is a neonate (0-2 months of age), this probably periodic breathing. If so, this usually stops at 2-3 months. If he is older it may be OSA, obstructive sleep apnea. Consult your pediatrician and helpful to bring video if possible.

  • @DrPetesOffice

    @DrPetesOffice

    Жыл бұрын

    Hello! Snoring can be normal if your baby has narrow choanal passages. That’s the nasal passages. It’s rare to have enlarged tonsils or adenoids in infancy. Please check in with your pediatrician to make certain that baby has a normal examination. They may refer you to a pediatric EMT specialist. That’s an ear, nose, and throat doctor.

    My newborn snored loudly in a car ride once & woke herself up from it. Startled herself, started crying, then went back to sleep. This vid helped some for sure. She does sneeze alot. I've been putting her socks on her w/ Onesies so she can't kick them off. She is like her dad, I guess, in unintentional ways. It's always 1 sock off, 1 sock on.

    After the yellow color of jaundice has resolved, further changes in color are not expected. Please see her doctor for this . Newborns do sleep for many hours. This is probably fine as long as she is feeding well and has done awake time. Please see her doctor for this as well.
