I my cats and doggos prefer moving water to drink and i know that stagnet (still/nonmoving) water tend to collect dirt and bacteria in nature so it could be a evolution thing

The reason He most likely does that is because dogs sweat glands are on their paws so he is probably cooling off and vet told me this when my dog was having seizures and she said to cool off it’s paws

I would try turning the big silver bowl over so the bump in the middle prevents him from sticking his paws in it. and he has to turn his head to drink from the ring. then all you have to do is stablize the bowl from being tipped over.

I have a theory. He might be playing with his reflection on the water. Once the water is gone, the stainless steel bowl itself has another reflection. It’s kind of like when the chase their tails thinking it might be another dog. It might be that or it might be because he is still a pup. Respond and tell me what you think.

I've been following your videos for a while now. I love your dogs in your videos. keep up the videos.

My dog does that too. It's because she's hot and is putting cold water on her belly to stay cool. My dad just ended up getting her a kiddie pool and she loves it. Also, sometimes spraying her with the hose works. She just lives to play in water. That's probably how Gus is. 👍

My youngest cat does the same thing. Stands in the water and digs at it. She loves drinking water trickling from a faucet. I bet Gus would love one of the fountain style drinking bowls. He could make a real mess that lol.
