Kelvin jacket is great. Used mine in Wyoming and stayed super warm even while hiking.

I bought both the Timberline pant and Mountain pant this year and preferred the Timberline. Seemed to be a little more durable and I liked the waterproof seat and knees. I also agree with another comment below - if love full length zippers on either pant. Just makes it a lot easier to get dressed or undressed.

I include the CLoudburst which I thnk critical if you want windproof slash waterproof option from the West to the east coast . I can cut out a piece of waterproof-windproof insulation by Sitka or any other camo such as First lite by adding that to setup and of course pants. Compresses nicely packing. It is a way to cut down on cost of all the gear. Cloudburst by Sitka definitely for me to add. I could probably eliminate the Jet Stream and use either the New Kelvin Aerolite or just keep the Kelvin Hoodie Jacket that I already have. I also run the Apex from early to late but I probably would like to have the Core Lite Hoodie if I was to add anything to my mix for ealry season. I agree with the Mountain pant. Good stuff Thanks

Add the midweight zip T, midweight base bottoms, the stratus pant, and a mountain vest you have the perfect do all. Archery hunt early and late season in the PNW with this setup, switching layering pieces as necessary.

If you only want couple things get the stratus jacket which is more ranges of Temps layer with what you have at home that's warm and that piece being your outer shell and the pants are nice I have both top bottom base layers fanatic vest midi stratus beanie I love my sitka stuff kinda addictive buying 😀

Ascent, traverse, apex or equinox guard pant until November then the timberline or mountain pant. LW & HW hoodies with a puffer, either dew point system early season or storm front late season.

Great vid and yeah I agree with your great pics. I own all of them. I do have a problem with the zipper on the Kelvin aerolite, the material gets caught near the neck. It’s hard to get it in stuck and I’m afraid that the material will tear. I’ve written to Sitka and will wait for a remedy from them. I’m still going to keep it. Do you use the Kelvin aerolite jacket with the jet stream jacket? I wore my Kelvin aerolite jacket with just a base layer in 34 degree weather and the wind was howling at 25 mph and I was very comfortable in it. The Kelvin aerolite is very windproof too!!

This is the only video that i am aware of where someone has real life experience with the kelvin aerolite jacket. now that you have a full season in how would you grade that jacket? I would like to see a video that dives a bit deeper into the aerolite jacket. I'd like to know how it compares to its down filled cousins. Can this be my only insulating upper layer on the mountain for early elk season?

We'll have to do a deeper dive in a video here coming up. Everyone here that has used it, has absolutely loved it. The Kelvin Down jacket it is warmer but it's also much bulkier. We normally just use the Aerolite until those really late, and extremely cold hunts.

Does the Kelvin Aerolite go under the Jetstream? If so what temperature range is that good for if you are still hunting?

If you have any puffy under the Jetstream it’s solid for me in a tree stand till about the teens man.

Yeah typically you put and puffy under your shell (Jetstream). I think most would be comfortable a little below freezing!

@@BlackOvis I know you guys don’t make the gear, but man it would be nice to see the fanatic or incinerator line up in subalpine or another forest floor pattern for us ground hunters in the chilly north country !

Commenting for algo, but also to give feedback. Man u should’ve mentioned the aerogel tech in the aerolite! ”Its a great jacket” doesnt really cut it imo. Hadnt I known about this, I wouldve disregarded that piece based on the thickness ultimately thinking it wouldnt keep me warm

Kelvin Aerolite is as solid as it gets. Doesn’t overheat. For me in the mountains, it would be my first pick of gear

What is the difference between the Heavyweight Hoodie versus the Fanatic Hoodie? Are they pretty much the same? The Fanatic Hoodie is a must have, imo.

The Heavyweight doesn't have the flip mitts or the Kangaroo pocket, but the materials are pretty similar.

The Kelvin Lite Hoody is better than the aerolight hoody IMO. Was sad to see it replaced with a product that isn’t as functional.

How does the mountain pant compare to kings preacher pant 2.0?

The fabrics are very similar but the preacher might be a hair thinker. The Preacher also has the side vents, which is a very nice feature. Fit should be very similar! You'll love either pant!

What size jetstream jacket did you choose?

@@BlackOvis just with the number of different pieces of gear needed to make a solid hunting outfit, i wouldnt say 2 different baselayers are no-brainers. Just my opinion 😁
