Why it's called palakkad gap... Anyone please explain

The western ghats which is starting from Gujarat (Tapti River) Is stretching till Kanyakumari. But You could see a big gap in between the ghats (around 40 * 20 kms) near palakkad. This gap is making a huge connection for Kerala across Tamilnadu and other Indian states. This big gap is known as palakkadan gap also because of it is located near Palakkad (District in Kerala)

You should also check out kollangode thathamangalam..and other places that are located in more private areas..and try not to throw wastes and everything.. everyone does that shit...
