    I've said it before and I'll say it again. This channel has perfected the style of presenting a topic and listing examples. You'd think it would be easy, but the way this one is actually informative, not spastic with the editing, and fun even when it's dark topics sets it apart from most other even bigger channels.

    Did you know sakurajima is The youngest vent of the Aira Caldera supervolcano? It considered to be the dangerous active volcano in japan because it's youngest vent of Aira supervolcano and also significantly dense populated area... Speaking of taal in my country (Philippines) according to geology hub you only know it's a small creater lake volcanic island in the center of the lake (wrong) in reality it is quite Large. The boundary of taal is the whole lake. The taal lake use too be a caldera. It is form by ancient super massive or Caldera forming collapse eruptions. The volcano island there start to form in 1580's when volume of ignimbrigh lava erupted into the lake caldera floor...

    Also taal is the most dangerous or the 1st place in the list of most dangerous active volcano because of frequently large and explosive eruptions also like sakurajima, Vesuvius, and other decade volcanoes. It is significantly dense populated area around 2.5 million in total people living in 10 to 30 km from the risky taal Caldera lake

    I live in Kagoshima. We don't have shelters in the city. They are in the towns and along the roads circling Mount Sakurajima. It is populated though there is a no go zone of a few km. Drills are also done on the Sakurajima side where most would probably have only the water to escape since the one road out could very well be blocked again (because it's built on the narrow section that a previous major eruption joined the island to the mainland). We in the city can just hop in our cars and drive away. Sakurajima is constantly active. We've only had 4 official eruptions since January 1st but there are loads of little pops and times of just constant smoking clouds. Ten years ago we were having 1,000 eruptions a year. Very inconvenient when winds being ash to where you are.

    I'm shocked Campii in Italy (which historically is on par with Yellowstone) and "The great Mother" (A volcano in Turkey thought to have changed the course of the river Eurphrates into a practical ditch around the mountain are not on this list. Campii is just a few miles from Vasuvius and 100 times larger, and the Great Mother may cause the most devastating flood to ever been seen in the middle east in the modern Era.

    True. And I had also observed the Earthquakes since 2016. Almost all are shallow ranging from 0.1km to 5km which shows magma is just below the surface and ready to erupt anytime. Can be this year or in 50 years. Upliftment occurs every year. Any major earthquake in Italy of 6 or above magnitude can also trigger this Volcano. And it will be the biggest eruption in last 10000 years breaking the record of ones like tambora and rinjani.

    I don't get why the Icelandic volcano and Kilauea make this list. Both of these mainly cause property damage and flight disruptions and any major eruptive event ist not in sight. Meanwhile there are other options like the Nyiaragongo which has over 100kph fast Lava flows and could trigger a limnic eruption in Lake Kivu that could kill over 1 million people

  • @Quinna78

    @Quinna78

    2 жыл бұрын

    Was thinking the same. Kīlauea volcano has killed 1 person in modern time and he fell into the lava. If a volcano has a lava eruption there is very little chance of death. Iceland volcano will produce restricted airtravel but its below a glacier so very few people will be close to an eruption.

  • @susangamble6038

    @susangamble6038

    I thought the same. Kilauea does have the capacity for large, explosive eruptions, but it doesn't happen often. It mostly just erupts lava fountains, sends out lava flows (which slow as they cool at the outer edges), and are no danger to life. As Kilauea has been my favourite volcano for decades, I kinds resent the indication that it is one of the 'most dangerous' ones!!!!

    About a third of the worlds volcanoes exist there and if we're to disregard Super Volcanoes the most dangerous within that zone would be Rabaul, Taal & Anak Krakatau. The former is a pyroclastic shield that causes explosive eruptions within both of it's vents, the second is an extremely active caldera lake that is within vaccinity of the capital of Luzon in the Phillipines and Anak Krakatau is also a highly active stratovolcano that poses a tsunami hazard that the smithsonian institute regards as "severe".

    What is it with this channel? It’s like every time you upload a video about volcanoes one erupts a few days later! Literally the day after you uploaded this an undersea volcano erupts in the pacific not far from the island of Tonga! I know volcanic eruptions are common with some 60 to 70 a year, roughly one every five days, but most are small venting events, but you seem to preempt some of the bigger ones.

    Most fertile lands so its easy to grow any kind of food. They probably start smaller and then turn into a city as more people come to live in the area.
