My dad had a 600cc panther with sidecar & a Bedford CA dormobile camper. I remember back in 1982 there used to be a roller disco across town. I asked my dad for a lift to the disco. I thought I was going in the van, wrong we pulled up in front of the disco queue with me in the sidecar. My street cred never really recovered 😂

As always great videos. I very much enjoy them. I have been into many hobbies over my 70 yrs on this gelatinous rock, populated with a plethora of crazy people! LOL ! However of all my hobbies ( here in the USA) , Airplanes, Model Airplanes, offshore fishing boats, inshore fish boats, Motorcycles were always my favorite. 50 yrs of riding, owning many ( like ~23) bikes, some of which you mention, raced in the early 1990's ( road, not drag or dirt) ... I have come to know and understand what motorcycling is all about... at least to me. Yes the super expensive fully loaded BMW, or Indian or HD had a moment of usefulness. But you know what, I asked myself why I ride for many years? You see my very first 2 wheel, single track conveyance was a bike I build with my own two hands. I was in 9th grade. I wanted to ride, because I got to ride my friends SOLEX! I was smitten. My dad would not let me buy a bike. So I built one. Well not exactly a bike, but a "mini-bike with a 5hp briggs& straton lawn mower engine. I found the engine and frame in the trash. I picked those up and brought them home. Took about 6 months of hard work and saving every penny for my part time job to buy the needed parts. The bottom line in all of this, I had the most fun when it was a motor and 2 wheels. I did not need to know the temp, because I was neither to hot or to cold. I did not need to know the time, because it was time to ride! Etc, ETC. After WAY TO MANY dollars, and WAY TO MANY years... I have found my bike, the one bike that tops all of your categories.... of the many videos you put up here. It is nothing but a motor and two wheels! Highly refined compared to that "scrap pile minibike". It is a super bike! I can go from sitting still to breaking the law super fast! It is beautiful, cause it is a proper bike, it is sensational because the single cylinder thumper sound means it is easy to service, no dealer required. The machine to me, is the top of all the categories you list. It is none other than the Suzuki DR650. And before any one has anything bad to say, I say go ride one that has been loved on, and prepare to be amazed! Y'all keep the rubber side down... at least on one of the wheels and have a great day!

The BMW is a fine bike in almost all guises. I think the r 757 was the nicest but the RS 1000 was ok too. Easy to work on on and incredibly reliable.all BMW are good. The Velocettes are the finest engineering specimens and I do believe no other single cylinder motorcycle of 500cc has ever matched their 24 hour excess of 100 mph. Another fine video offering. Well done .

I think the 1987 Honda CBR600 'Hurricane' needs to get it's nod sometime, it was the first fully faired inline 4 superbike that (unlike the Z1000) handled just as well as it looked, and was v1.1 of the standard sportsbike flavour that has crept into most production bikes of today

Good video well there is nothing new to do with motor cycle engine design and gearboxes which are common place now also the Z1000 fuel injection some of them made it to Australia and raced in the Castrol 6 hour and were not successful because they were probably mapped for street not for track use because if they were remapped they would been not allowed to race because the race was a productoin race so the bikes were standard as from the factory and there were was cheating that went on and the scruteneers had to be on there toes and they had to sell a certian number of the motorcycles to race one example was the Suzuki Kantana for the race they had spoked wheels why because as you lent into a corner the rim will flex to increase the conact patch but they never made it to the race because the Katanas got held up to do with shipping they were able to sell them but to late
