The “plum pudding” coincidence story:
In 1902, Camille Flammarion tells of the experience of his friend, the poet Emile Deschamps. In his childhood, at a school in Orleans, Deschamps shared a table with a certain M. de Fortgibu, who had returned from England with a taste for plum puddings, then unknown in France. He insisted that Deschamps try one.
Ten years later Deschamps passed a restaurant and saw a plum pudding being prepared inside. His early taste, long forgotten, urged him to enter and ask for a slice; but the pudding was reserved for another, and Deschamps was obliged to beg the favour from this stranger. It turned out to be M. de Fortgibu, and both were astonished at meeting again for the second time over the same dish.
Many years passed again, and Deschamps was invited to a dinner party which featured an English plum pudding; and Deschamps delighted his hosts with the tale of his extraordinary encounter with de Fortgibu. They all joked about the possibility of the old man turning up. During the meal he really did. De Fortgibu had also been invited out to dinner, but by the occupant of another apartment in the building, and had lost his way.
"Three times in my life have I eaten plum pudding, and three times have I seen M. de Fortgibu!" said Deschamps. "My hair stood up on my head. A fourth time I should feel capable of any thing . . . or nothing!".”

    I was on a train headed back home from university, scribbling poems down into my notebook. I looked over and noticed a man looking at me with a strange sort of questioning look, like he was gauging my familiarity. He was clearly an artist, with his sketchbook open to a detailed drawing. He was sitting with his young son, who also had a little sketchbook, teaching him how to draw. The man looked at me and I realized he looked startlingly like a much older version of a boy I had fallen in love with when we were young, but we had been pushed apart by our parents at the time because of our age. We looked at eachother and I felt this sort of sadness and a premonition of regret, like I was witnessing a scene from a future where we lived without eachother. I tucked away this moment and when slowly I started getting close again to my old friend, I knew that I couldn't let him slip away if I could help it. I didn't want a world where he was living his life without me. We've been wonderful partners for two years now, and we're planning our wedding for two years from now

    I am trying to save my intuition. I think modern psychiatry makes us doubt such loosely defined terms as "Intuition". If your intuition is overwritten you will start to feel quite sick, I did at least. It's a sort of deep knowing. My life has gotten a lot better and more aligned with who I am after I started following my intuition again

    Wow! What a great lesson! I don't believe in coincidence. There are too many to be mere coincidence. I think it's wonderful to find meaning. In everything. It makes life worth living even in the harshest circumstances. I love your analogy of light and dark. I've been making that comparison most of my life, without realizing that's what I was doing. Very nice to see you again, Ana. 🙏 I've noticed one thing in my life - when my decisions are dictated by mind and mere reasoning, I fail. But when I trust my intuition, everything goes sooo much better. Sometimes very logical and reasonable decisions turn out to be unsuitable for me, and the dumbest and illogical - completely satisfying in my personal perspective. I'm an HSP too. So, I agree that we must develop our intuition. 😌 Thank you.

    Dearest Ana, what a wonderful topic you chose to talk about today. My intuition/gut feeling has not let me down so far. When in doubt about choosing a path, I always take my time and my intuition/gut give me the answer as to my choices. If I follow my inner voice it always turns out right for me. It wasn’t always like this. When I was young I didn’t develop this sense, I never listened to my inner voice. I did what I wanted to do. I have made so many bad choices that to this day affect my life in a bad way. It took old age for me to learn to stop, listen to my intuition/gut/inner voice and come up with what is the right answer for me. Thank you for this video which made me think back to wishing I had always listened to what my gut was trying to tell me. I am so happy that I have come to know you my dearest Anastasia. Much love to you. ❤️

    Great video. My most significant lesson in life came about four years ago. Better late than never. Ha ha. That lesson was that gut instincts are smarter than proof or intellect. I learned that when we hear those soft whispers from our gut, we need to listen and be guided by those whispers, even if we question them or see no reason for doing as they wish us to do. By giving my gut instincts rule over my intellect, I have not only been able to avoid bad people, but embrace and welcome really good people into my circle of friends, all without any proof of anything whatsoever. I’ve also become very aware of my emotional and physical feelings, how people, things, and situations make me feel…and very protective of my preferred resonance, which is happy and serene. Recently, someone made me feel sick when they sent me this harmless message: “I want to talk to you.” This was from a guy I always talked to, so it was odd for him to say that. Based solely on how this strange message made me feel, I responded with a seemingly rude: “No thanks.” I did that because his message made me feel very nervous and almost sick and because I have learned to completely trust my gut instinct and follow it’s guidance regardless of how I might respond otherwise. I couldn’t substantiate my response “No thanks” as being normal, intelligent, or reasonable, but it was in tune with going with my gut instinct. His next message, responding to my “No thanks” message, was more telling. It proved my gut instinct to be correct, as it was a full blown attack. I responded to his attack: “No thanks. Not interested.” Then I proceeded to block him from ever being able to communicate with me again. Had I not listened to my gut, I would have been drawn into a very nasty situation. As things turned out, by listening to my gut, I was able to completely avoid the nasty situation as well as remove this troublemaker from my social circle. As a guy who loves living overseas, I am constantly in foreign situations or meeting foreign people I can’t possibly deduce intellectually as whether they’re good or bad for me. I rely totally on my gut, which thankfully has proved very reliable.

  • @thefilipinojoe

    @thefilipinojoe

    @Sonna our brains have a mammal section that doesn't rely on our intelligence. It is our animal instinct and it's believed that messages from this part of our brains is what we are terming our gut instinct. Another way to look at it is that intellectually, we are only able to process so much of any particular situation, yet unconsciously we are absorbing tons more (and processing it in what results in a gut instinct conclusion). Thus when our intellectual side fails to provide enough information or a correct conclusion, our unconscious smarty pants pal, gut instinct, weighs in oh so humbly. It's up to us to realize and give greater weight if not all the weight to our trusty gut instinct, especially whenever it is relentless in it's grip on us and seemingly wanting more than anything to control our next move.

    Hi Gio! You've made such a profound example, thank you. I often was in similar situations and in many cases, didn't follow my intuition as I was afraid to look rude. Ugh, a lot of lessons learnt:)

  • @thefilipinojoe

    @thefilipinojoe

    2 жыл бұрын

    @Sonna you are on the right path now and my guess is that you will be guided to a better place. One important realization that you mentioned is that you realized you are where you are based on decisions you made. When I realized that myself, I realized I couldn’t change my past, but I could change everything in my future by my future decisions. I had to make some seriously radical decisions, and huge sacrifices, and cried alligator tears because I had to give up so much, but I did it. I realized my choices were the fuel creating my experiences and that making better choices would eventually improve my future. Basically, I made new difficult choices that were necessary for a better future to take seed and eventually happen. It’s all about making the right choices, and it’s not always easy, nor without huge sacrifices.

    @@anagoldberg I know right?! Me too. I consider my gut instinct to be my trusted best friend who is not only a know it all, but only wants the best for me. I’ve been in a much better and healthier place since I stopped doubting or dismissing my gut instincts. It actually seems to be even more awake and helpful too, since I have given it such prominence. ♥️ It might sound rude, but my gut instinct is like a bodyguard. People don’t have a chance to know me personally if they can’t make it past my bodyguard.

    I guess I will be a little different. As an autistic I don't find relying on intuition very rewarding. Reading human intentions from their expressions and body language is hard enough especially when they act one way but say something else. My intuition filter doesn't help me. I prefer to live in the moment with animals. My intuition works best with them as they are straightforward. That said, this was an incredibly insightful video. Thank you! Stay safe!! ✨💞✨

Early in my experience with a particular western conservative religious group I learned to hide my ability to know, to trust my intuition. I was told such things were "evil". As a result I suffered greatly but also learned many necessary lessons that made me stronger. Now that I am away from that influence I am again embracing what I know to be good, true and pure. There is a book called ‘The Luck Factor’ by Max Gunther that you might find interesting. He argues that ‘luck’ is simply being attuned to your intuition. It’s fascinating, filled with case studies of people who had great ‘luck’. As usual, I enjoyed this so much, even just hearing your soothing voice. I’m in my new place in Apache Junction, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix. But everything is still a huge muddle and it makes me wish that I had a very pared down wardrobe and other things. My next task is going to be getting rid of more and more things. I am very exhausted and my new seizure medicine makes me dizzy and nauseated most of the time. Ana, there is something marvellous about what you say and how you say it. In each of your videos there are thought provoking subjects and issues that remain in the mind, long after I have seen them. For me, intuition is enhanced by my lifestyle. By that I mean, to positively shy away from busyness of all kinds, crowds of people, noisy places and most of all media, in all its forms. A little of these things is OK, too much drowns out my inner voice and.....well, unsettles me. I am perhaps a natural born hermit of sorts :)

    As a younger person I would have thoughts flit through my mind. If I let them go (did not ponder them) they would almost always happen (usually bad things), but if I pondered the flitting thought, I could keep it from happening 100%. So, now if I have an unwelcome thought I ponder and I pray it does not happen and it doesn’t. I also get that darkness when something is wrong. It’s within my minds eye. And I ask questions and almost always get a “yes” or “no” in my mind. it sounds a little crazy, but I know what I know. 🤷🏽‍♀️

    Thank you for this Video 🌿 Sometimes my intuition is very strong and I feel connected to myself and the world, but I struggle a lot to differ fear from my gut feeling. Any tips?

    I have a lot of fear too, but each time my gut feeling proves right, the confidence grows. It's like an experiment - to let the intuition speak or to mute it and then to analyze the results. With the accumulated body of experiment, your mind will know what's best for your well-being. I know, it may sound nonsensical, but this is what helps me.

    dying people often know more than us, like they can see through the world. Not necessarily profound stuff,but perceptions that turn out to be true. Also with dementia: it's worth considering it even if it seems senseless or stupid

    I have trouble to trust intuition. Because in the past I had a truly truly intuition based relationship I made a decision about someone based on my intuition and it nearly cost me my life. And now i find it hard to trust my intuitive gauge.

I have never experienced anything as hard as you have. You have truly touched the hearts of so many people around the world. I want you to know that my husband and I are praying for you. The renowned scientist Albert Einstein is another who acted upon a flash of intuition. He had a notion-one he later called the happiest thought of his life-which led to the birth of the famous theory of general relativity. Einstein concluded that intuition was crucial to the discovery of natural laws. Not all of Einstein’s hunches paid off so handsomely, though. He confessed that he once lost two years’ worth of hard work by pursuing a beguiling intuition that never panned out. Apparently, intuition is not some mysterious sixth sense either. As The World Book Encyclopedia says: “Some people incorrectly call intuition ‘the sixth sense.’ But investigation usually shows that intuitions are based on experience, particularly the experience of individuals with great sensitivity.” The individual builds up “a storehouse of memories and impressions,” the Encyclopedia argues, from which the mind may draw a “sudden impression [called] an intuition, or ‘hunch.’” Einstein’s intuition in physics did not spring from thin air. He had a vast reservoir of expertise to draw from. However, expertise in one field may not lead to intuition in another. Einstein’s intuition would not help him fix a plumbing problem. It is not just science students, though, who value the faculty of intuition and wish to cultivate it. The question is, Can it be done? Granted, some people are simply more gifted with intuition than others. But since intuition does seem to be so closely tied to the gaining of expertise, some experts feel that we can enhance innate intuitive ability by paying more attention to the way we learn. Finally, relying too heavily on intuition may breed mental laziness. There is no shortcut to the acquiring of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom; organized study is the only way. So instead of seizing upon the first intuitive notion that comes along, a wise person builds up a reservoir of knowledge, which then becomes a source of understanding, insight-and often of intuition as well. - taken from an article published in 1992. Interesting subject.

    How many years will it be before you are with your spouse? I suspect you are not being honest Anna... I make that statement based on the knowledge I have and research I have done on these types of separations - unless there are criminal elements to your situation, this story is making less sense as the weeks go by. Unsubscribed.

    I’m sorry you’ve been staying here only because of that. I rarely lose my temper but when someone’s saying sh*tty things about by family, I stop being kind. You have no idea about the world I’m living in and you have no idea about everything we’ve been through and what it takes for financially struggling people from opposing countries to be together. Good luck on your sunlit, beautiful path. I will never explain myself to people like you.
