Very scary and dangerous waves! My goodness, this were huge waves in a very rough sea. Just amazing how these ships managed to stay afloat! That’s impressive.

Amazing 👏 Putting their lives at risk... I learned a large percentage of container ships never make their destinations...many sink or run into troubles at sea Pray for those at sea or anyone in troubles or sank God has answered my prayers and others in this...rescues Praises to God. Hallelujah Amen ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I worked on longliners in the Bering Sea for 7 years and I can agree with you there. We CONSISTENTLY dealt with 40 footers in A season (January and February) almost daily. Only twice in my career did we stop fishing because of shitty weather. But my original boat the Endeavor is a tank and will sail through almost anything. She's an old mud boat that had been converted to a longliner. This past A season my brother was fishing on it and they took a wave that knocked out all the windows in the wheel house. They sailed back to Dutch for three days with no electricity and no radios. They had to use Starlink phone system to navigate back south to Dutch Harbor. I was also told by an old school teacher of mine that, that boat rolled all the way over to past 50 degrees and roll right back and righted herself. Not one single man has ever died off of her. She's a 124' tank of a boat.

Indeed. I am simply amazed at how they usually manage to avoid ' breaking their backs ' as the saying goes. Of course, they don't win every time, and that is when we see the sad sight of the ship broken into two pieces amidships. This is very often a worst-case scenario for the crew as well as the vessel because of the horrifying difficulties of rescue in appalling weather conditions.

I lived on a ship once it was called the "Caribbean Mercy" an ocean going vessel used by Mercy Ships. The Waves in this video are large but hardly life threatening. The film "The Perfect Storm" now that is a guaranteed trip to the bottom. We got into some waves but it was fun not really frightening as you might think.

I always wonder how much smaller vessels like, say, a 30ft sailing yacht would cope…. I mean once you’re out there I bet you can’t always avoid getting caught out!!?? I’ld love to see footage of smaller vessels in these conditions!!
