Yes, why not? But it should reflect the essence and relate to the market segment in which your brand operates.
So we must ise any color other than white red and black avoid angles in and boundaries around the logo.

Good observation! While the actual logo designing is in progress, there are more than 6 dimensions on which the work is done inorder to get the best logo. It's not as simple as it seems and depends on lots of factors!
