Ok, I’m mad about something. Everything about you, your personality, your videos, your concepts, scream ‘millions of subscribers’ (or at LEAST hundreds of thousands). I know it’s not all about the numbers and views, but I genuinely feel you’re hugely underrated. Your voice alone makes me feel relaxed and calm. Thank you xXx

I also was confused how certain creators moved through powder products so quickly. Kelly Gooch is the queen of bronzer. I hit pan on one bronzer. I have been panning, since 2017. I have yet to hit pan on a blush. I am trying…. I can pan eyeshadow because those pans are little. Keep up the good work.

I think it depends on where you apply bronzer and how much you apply each time. I have found that when my foundation is too light for my an I use a lot of bronzer to add enough color to match the rest of my body, I use up more. But when my foundation is too dark and I only use a little product on my cheeks I use less. When I’m wearing something that shows the tops of my arms I use more bronzer, because that’s the tannest part of my body. When only my fake and hands are showing I use less bronzer, because that’s the lightest part of my body. The shade of bronzer also matters, if it’s a lighter bronzer or a sheer bronzer it’s easy to use up. If it’s darker or more pigmented you need less so it takes longer to use up. If it’s powdery it’s also easier to finish. And of course, if you apply bronzer on your neck or body you’ll also use it up more easily.

I have hit the pan in 3 blushes and the 4th is coming - everything depends on formula and shade. For example Benefit Rockateur is a bit creamy thus I've found a brush picked a lot of product, Nars blusher in Impassioned was not very pigmented so you must layer and you hit the pan quickly. Every time I hit a pan on a blush or eyeshadow it makes me want to finish it completely and I tend to use it exclusively for few months till the end .. I think same goes for bronzer. Some are easier to pan. However I am wondering how others pan their highlighters, one only uses a tiny amount so it seems impossible to me..

@@anitanowogorska3853 proud of you for such an accomplishment with your blushes. Also I think the size of area the blush is being used on matters. Some have a small face and some don’t so it matters. But I get totally sidetracked after I hit pan on a product. Mostly for not wanting to let it leave my stash. Highliter in the other hand is easier for me to go through. I always mix my face cream with my highlighters so I have a glowy base. Good luck with yours!

I also used to compare myself when it came to panning. Now I know that is a silly mindset and that my makeup consumption is different from others and that's okay. I have also realized that I cannot buy the same way and I don't want to. Since makeup takes forever to use up I am much more discerning with what I bring in and thus this has made me better with my money towards makeup. Also storage tends to illuminate if you have a problem or not if you run out of space to store things and to know where everything is!

  • @RebeccaMorgan

It is so easy to compare yourself, but I’m so glad you recognize that we all use and consume makeup at our own pace! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me, I have really recently come to better see that I cannot (and shouldn’t feel obligated to) buy like others. It’s all a journey and I’m thankful we are doing this together ❤️

honestly with you i started to actually pan and not buy. i had no concept of a no buy. especially coming from a family where growing up makeup was a luxury i would hoard so much. (not like drawers and drawers) but enough to never be able to finish anything if i continued at that rate. you've saved me so much money lol. i actually could never have thought one lipstick could take me 3 full years to use up. and i've decided to never buy blush because 1 i never go through one 2 i always use my lipstick anyways so thank you. i'd never have noticed all these things if i didn't start panning

Point #1 100% true, I mentioned this in a recent video comparing my lowbuy/nobuy/beauty budget years and before I started panning I purchased a drugstore blush palette telling myself when I use it up I can purchase a highend one but guurll that was years ago and I still don't have pan in it 😅😅 we definitely underestimate how long it takes to use products up.

My panning journey also really opened my eyes to how long it actually took to use up products. It is such an important thing for me to understand as it has stopped me from going back to buying multiple products that are the same (bronzer, blush and also lipsticks). I started panning in about 2017 and I have continued the ethos. I now only buy products I have completely used up and I have saved so much money by doing this. It has also prevented me from impulse buying makeup (which has also saved me money. I am mindful of what I buy and I scrutinise my purchases and think about them a lot so that my collection is always curated to things I love, use and are the best for my needs.

Little fun story regarding the fact that make up (blush!) takes a long time to use up: a German retailer I use asked if I wanted to repurchase a blush palette after I bought it not even a month ago 😂 same with Milani luminoso, ridiculous marketing technique 😂

Great tips. Many thanks for sharing. They help a lot. I've just started "use it all up" - I want to finish as many products as possible and make better purchase choices. And, yes, 100% agree using up some of these products takes ages 🤣 I gave myself 3 years to downsize my collection (even though it's small anyway - still too many shadows, products I don't enjoy and pencils). Look forward to the next video.
