5 INTERMEDIATE HACKS FOR BETTER BOARD CONTROL

Ойын-сауық

Since my easy board control hacks video is doing so well, I thought I'd make an intermediate version for those of you who are beyond the beginner stages. I hope you take something useful from this video and I wish you better board control!

Switch pushing only got me so far. It helped even more to start integrating small things like switch manuals between cracks, popping switch Ollies, etc.

@@jmzan Not neglecting your manuals and kick turns is a great way to improve. If you have a certain kickturn or direction you can't turn in as easily, turn that way more often, it'll round you out and make you overall better! Switch tic tacs are perfect for this too!

Great video. I agree so much about trying new scary things. I’ve been pushing myself to try lots of new tricks, or tricks that I never thought I’d be able to do, and I’ve learned so much. 👊

2:00 I have a 24 year old ACL injury in my right knee and i swear it makes my ollies harder to do (my vids prove that) but i do persist and keep going. I love skating transition so i try to keep that up, but in the times i can't get to the indoor skateparks - its carpet boarding and back garden practice sessions for me. Keep it going dude! Cheers Sam

As long as it makes you happy and doesn't do more harm than good keep going. Life is what you make it after all. Maybe you could do some switch ollies? You might actually find you wind up better at them. Keep it up!

@GoGoSkate Thanks for the advice! It's advice like that (switch ollie) that is not the first thing that comes to mind, but is obvious when you think about it... try the other way round! I'll give it a go. Thanks again.

Filming yourself is defo a good tip. You an watch it bk and c where you went wrong with something that you wouldn't have noticed at the time of trying the trick. Posting on KZread also helps as it makes you push yourself that little bit more. If people are watching your videos you want to give them something new.

I've lost a little weight, but I guess I've mainly converted it into my frame? I've been working on eating better so I can perform better on the skateboard. Im about 20 pounds lighter but still not as slim as I'd like to be. I don't know if I even will get any lighter as I'm quite a tall guy, but I've definitely gotten stronger and more capable over the months. Thanks for noticing!

I've actually never understood the point of doing shit switch. Maybe for the sake of earning points from judges in competition. Fakie/nollie looks sick. You won't even know if a trick switch if you don't know the skater's stance.
