Met John Challis a few years back and he was one of the most kindest and down to earth person you could ever meet and was very witty. As i walked over to where he was i said i thought i could smell onions and typical boycie style he said oh dear we got a comedian in the building and after that we both laughed and shook hands. Had a lovely chat with him and asked him about the poker episode and was real money used, he said it was and at the end of the recording some of it had gone missing but was found above on one of the studio lights, asked who he thinks put it there and he believe John Sullivan did.

I liked how over time the show made better use of the supporting characters. The pub became more of a regular meeting point. They were all great comic inventions in their different ways.

The restaurant that the bloke has a heart attack in is called Gilbey’s and is in Ealing right around the corner from the studio. I used to deliver wine there all the time.

Trigger's broom story, and Rodney's question about it, is a reworking of The Ship of Theseus Paradox: "In its original formulation, the 'Ship of Theseus' paradox concerns a debate over whether or not a ship that had all of its components replaced one by one would remain the same ship."
