I own that strongarm and I really do recommend to buy it, it's unbreakable and you can do with it whatever you want

I have it, too! I was absolutely shocked by the quality of the blade. Its no small feat to make a knife that will outlast the user, and i believe the strongarm, will!

They get too much hate imo. I had one as a kid and I beat the shit out of it pretending to be bear grylls. It’s at a price point where you don’t need to feel bad using it for it’s intended purpose and it does what it should.

I have a gerber strongarm and its never let me down. Highly recommend

One of my patrons at the bar I used to work at tipped me his 06 auto he used over in Iraq when I was a bartender. He used to come in and talk to me after work and when he wasn't feelings to great. It's still my favorite knife. I tressure it.

PLEASE do a video like this on blades with Sheepfoot/Wharncliffe blade shapes! Need more recognition!

Can confirm Gerber strong-arm is like concrete chisel/ crowbar in the shape of a knife. Cant go wrong with it especially for the price

My dad gave me a 06 auto tanto blade for my 17th, it still works great.

Sorry, but the Strongarm is a solider's knife designed for tactical/urban/survival applications. A bushcraft knife has a scandi grind like the Principal.

I use mine almost daily. I just used it to baton some kindling. Not everyone goes to the woods to carve a spoon. It works fine for me.

@My_pfp_beats_all_dog_breeds. Gerber has been based in Portland since 1910, when it was an ad agency, and then in 1939 when the Gerber family started making American knives. Their factory was there far before the city was considered political.

I gotta get me one of those gerber strongarm knives. Sick!

@@positivelynegative9149 the sheath is a bit bulky in my opinion. It's a hard plastic, but it does not rattle! And the prices I'm not sure about I got it for $80 with taxes and all.

@@positivelynegative9149 oh I forgot to cover the mounting pieces, it came with two clips, one for a pocket or your belt or your waistband, and the the other you can weave thru your belt like a belt loop. Both are pretty handy but I prefer the regular clip.

Gerber strong arm is the best imo

I think prodigy is one of the best fixed blades they’ve created

I have a fast ball and love it, picking up a strongarm next for camping.

I'll never give up my Gerber Michael Walker design ATS34. Keeps a great edge and has a very smooth action. It's about 30 years old and looks like new.

You forgot the Gerber Emerson Alliance. 154 cm blade, rocket fast side opening automatic and a strong lock . Plus, the handle is heavy as hell so you can use it as an impact weapon if needed.

Before Walmart stopped selling the Prodigy I bought 3 on clearance. Outstanding knives for the money.

I really miss my Gerber Mark II. Someone stole mine and they’re discontinued 😢 Wish they’d bring them back.

I have a Gerber Airfoil, great little EDC knife. I’ve carried it for years and used it so many times that I can flick it open with just my wrist, no thumbs required 😅

the 06 auto is my daily! great knife especially cause i picked it up at cost at my old job lol. the kick on it is intense too love handing it to people and seein their face when it flies open.

I replaced the Gerber Icon Tanto, with the Prodigy when I lost it. Then picked up the Degree and Prodigy. Mostly carry the Prodigy which is an Beast.

So cool, i live in Portland, OR so cool to see the knives are made there

@jdsolberg7613 I had an 06 and found it to be kind of toy-feeling with a weak spring. So I also didn't send it in for repair. At least in the end, we both found the right Gerber for ourselves.

Love how even though everybody is allowed to copy benchmade now, they still aren't allowed to call it the Axis Lock.

I have to say though I have no problem with these particular knives that I prefer The Prodigy because the non-serrated or the plainedge only model was designed as a Walmart exclusive and you could pick them up around 50 whereas the strong-arm was intended to self 450 but it was always been priced at 60 and $70 and the price on that has jumped up but then again In fairness prices on everything has gone up. Unfortunately Gerber is using softer Metals in their newer models

I have the "principle". Its a small beast!

So I've been wanting to get a strongarm, but I do have a prodigy that I've had for just around a year now, and that thing is the perfect belt knife. My one complaint is that it is a bit hard to sharpen, but it will still slice through chicken out in the field without being hair popping sharp.

The only Gerber knife I really like is the ultralight LST. I do have a prodigy mounted to my minibike for utility use while I'm out trail hopping plinking and exploring.

I keep trying different items from Gerber that aren't a simple fixed blade, and I keep being disappointed at best >. The FIXED blade knives have held up great, the folders I've tried not so much. They never make it to their first birthday 😢

its not on the list. but i have a gerber ayako and I love useing it. its very light and easy to carry around all day. i just wish it was a little easier to open. its quite stiff.

All the comments suprise me, I was convinced to upgrade to one at a store a while back and it was shite! Blunt af and the blade was soft didn't last the day. Asked around and everyone pulled a face if I asked if they were good. Did I get sold like the budget range or summat cause you all seem to love them?
