The 5 gods means they dominate in multiple fighting games. Each of the 5 have had titles in more than 1 game. And they've been a threat in tournaments whether it was there main game or not. Whereas those that you've mentioned are 3rd strike specialist or players who havent donminated in other games like the 5 Gods are.

Daigo/Tokido havn't played the game seriously in a very long time. Haitani is definately up at the top. He won the singles SBO tourny qualifiers this year.

I LOLed at Chun and Urien building meter, it seemed like it was to the beat of Urien's theme in the background.

+BIMBOBOOP this video was recorded a few years back, especially if Daigo's playing third strike. Haitani discovered some of the Makoto SA2 shannanigans iirc. Definitely recorded long before SF4. Kuroda didn't come up until 2012.

+wolfumz He was around for forever. There is a lot vids of him in high level play from mid-2000's from at least 2006. He just doesn't show up a lot or play anything else so he doesn't get the same fanfare.

Chase Lewis oh, yeah, of course, he was an exciting playing we've all been watching since he beasted out Ricky Ortiz and Justin Wong. But a 3s God? I don't know, maybe my "God" list is too short, but I don't think Kuroda really had the universal respect of other top players before winning SBO. Around that time he started teaming up with MOV

Also,I haven't watch much of Sako's videos but I always thought that Saru/Yakkun are the best Yun now. I will search more about Sako Tokido: I do agree that at the time he was playing he was a beast (2007/2008) but he just disappeared and stopped playing fighting games...Oh yeah, SSF4AC is also a "fighting game''... Haitani is pretty freakin good at 3s. But no doubt, Daigo, Tokido are great players. I haven't seen much of Sako, but the K.O finisher was clean. I don't think Haitani is up there with the likes of MOV, Kuroda, Kokujin, Nuki and some others, but he can definitely contend at a higher 3s level than Daigo/Tokido.

only 3s god among those is nuki, the rest are merely very good players.

theycallmejpj of course he is not, these 5 Gods are good in different fighting games, vampire series, alpha, turbo, snk vs cc, guilty gear. that's why 5 Gods of fighting games. Hayao is just a 3rd strike Hugo.

I agree, these are really good players but Kuroda makes them seem like false idols. No disrespect to these guys I'm big fans of each.

Daigo back in this day was just as good as 95% of japanese 3s these days.

Daigo: Even looking at his matches now, I'm still impressed despite the way of playing third strike has clearly evolved. Nuki: ... Haitani: The best Makoto ever in terms of efficiency, not very impressive though.. just EFFICIENT !! Kuroda: Who's his main character ... Considered as the Best Urien, Q and Gouki in Japan at the time he was playing them...A third strike Genious who has his own style (Nobody has played Gouki and Q as he did) MOV: Unique Chun-li, and won several Tougeki,SBO 06 OMG..
