5 Freeway Ped Fatal | BOYLE HEIGHTS, CA
BOYLE HEIGHTS, CALIFORNIA - At least one car struck a pedestrian on the freeway. The pick-up truck that hit the ped stayed at scene and could be seen in the middle of the freeway with major damage. Unknown why the ped was on the freeway or if they came from a vehicle on the freeway. LAFD covered the body at scene. All but one lane open during the investigation.

The victim was identified as 26-year-old Claudio Franquez. PER FAMILY: Claudio just graduated trade school and was ready to become a plumber. Claudio was many things: a great friend, a loving family man to his mother, his father,his nieces, sisters, nephews, cousins, and all tias and tíos that encountered him. This man only cared for making sure all his friends and family were happy and thriving. Never one to turn you down if you asked for a helping hand.
The truck that hit him stayed at the scene, ahh yea could you imagine that truck fleeing the scene.
