Very impressive! I hope to get there. I just completed 42 hour fast two days ago, which is first time I've ever gone an entire day, let alone the entire next morning, without any calories. I wasn't sure if I could make it one day, but herbal teas and green tea kept my mouth's need for pleasant tastes satisfied, and I kept my mind motivated on the end result by watch Thomas' and other videos on the benefits of fasting, and tips on how to do it well. Also some exercise and dancing to my KZread music video lists kept my mind on other things, along with my job. Now that you and I have accomplished this, we can stretch ourselves further. I have much further to go than you, but by learning what others have accomplished, and seeing what I've done in 6 weeks since beginning intermittent fasting and lower carb diet proves we can keep getting better and better at this lifestyle adjustment.

Then he just throws products at you. The important thing is to understand the basics and not get confused by him. And I say that as someone who has actually bought from his sponsors but after researching it enough on my own.

He explains foods to beak the fast. That’s doesn’t mean you can’t eat all the food intake at a later period following the fast break. So say eat some salmon or chicken small portion. Let your body start the digestive process. Then 30min to an hour later eat all you want. The point is what is the very first food your gut is taking first to prepare it for a proper meal

the long and short answer is "everyone's a little different"/ this is more general for most people vs Keto specific modifiers. example being he also said don't end a fast with MCT oil or Fats in general...but if your breaking fast INTO KETO then there literally isn't any other way to make that work. Diet is unfortunately specific (not "hard" per say) but most people don't put in the time.

What I have learned so far is, "food" is the number one thing to problematize and be careful about, and learn as much info as possible in this demonized world now. I dont know what I'm putting and what I should be putting in my body, nothing can be more frightening than that. In the last couple centuries, Majority of the world population have been lead on purposely to eating habits 180deg opposite to how it should have been. As a result hundreds of million of people are chronic and otherwise(aware/notaware) sick or died for no reason at their very early ages. In an easy, slow, hidden way that is more dangerous than nuclear weapons.

Hi Thomas, great video. A while back you did a video about what to break your fast with depending on your goals, and you considered three goals, longevity, fat loss, and muscle growth. You said if you're goal is fat loss, then keto coffee is the best thing to break your fast with, bone broth is best if you're going for longevity and lean protein is best if you're going for muscle growth. In this video, you say you don't recommend saturated fats, even MCT oil, for fast breaking. My goal is weight loss, so my question is, have you changed your mind about breaking a fast with keto coffee? (I should specify that I'm strictly keto during my feeding windows and my goal is fat loss) Thanks man

Do whatever your body feels good with ! Some people need more carbs to get by, others need less. Fruits in moderation is a must in peoples diet , nothing wrong with that. There’s anti-caffeine people who need a boost of energy so they’ll have a banana, yes it has a lot of sugar but if it’s going to help you then why not? Just give your body what is asking for, if you feel good about it!

How does the limit carbs to under 25 grams part work with your videos on post workout meals - which you reccomend us doing in a fasted state - in which you say it might be goos to have 20 - 30 grams of glucose (with salt) + 10 - 15 grams of fructose? Doesn't this video contradict that advice? Which is the best strategy for someone doing keto/Carnivore/Carneto who wants to lose body fat AND build muscle? Esp for someone over age 50.

Today we need a college degree in fasting! My mom fasted one or twice a week for religious purposes made it so easy and lived to 96, my grandmother who lived to 95 did the same. One thing I can tell none of them ate candy like products, Pasta like products, or juice/soda like products. I never saw them eat fast foods, They never had snack times! Lots of coffee, milk and teas I saw, and small meals and never ever saw them eat after 5pm, I saw them eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. And yes I never saw my mom or grandma do exercises other than their daily work! and yet they lived a long and healthy life....The simple problem is we over eat like cows and horses 😂 Today we make fasting so complicated... I think we are trying to monetize fasting someway or another... My mom or grandma would have laughed seeing this videos😂

I like that you mention refeeding. Technically refeeding syndrome also is characterized by rapid drop in serum K+, Mg in addition to Na. It is actually the rapid drop in K+ that can be the most dangerous effect of refeeding due to its effect on cardiac function. We supplement and replace these (IV infusion or by mouth) to correct the depletion during refeeding. I work as a dietitian in intensive care and we see this all the time. Typically occurs after 3-4 days of inadequate nutrition (or fasting as well) and happens very shortly after reintroducing nutrients info the body

Thomas: I help you make keto easy Also Thomas: have bulletproof coffee with mct oil, but don't use it to break fast and only eat lean protein from black wild chicken hunted by blind albine tibetan monks during winter or your metabolism will collapse, no biggie.

Pretty much. Thomas overcomplicates everything. You can't possibly live by all the rules he sets.

@@andoletube Agree. Those are his principals, and as a scientist he over complicates because Thomas does not know how to explain the scientific concept since its not his main acumen. Science is very definitive set of principals that need to get applied not just SAID, but a lifestyle is not. Suggestion that THOMAS stick to a better GENRE of videos i.e. body building or muscle building vs nutritional science- which even the nutritional scientists get wrong and is poorly researched.

Love your videos, I just started listening to you and I have lost 50 pounds and then I found your channel. I have about 15 more to go. I have been wondering if there was a way to tighten up my skin. Also I just want to eat healthier. You are what I have been looking for to combat my issues. Thank you 💕. Sharing you with friends too!!

I break my fast with a shake of: Pea Protein Isolate, MCT oil, tbsp on coffee & with the base of just water. Would this be a perfect break-fast?

So... how long after breaking you fast can you actually eat (veggies, more carbs, more fats, etc)? I suppose it depends what your fasting goals are, but would it be better (autophagy, fat burning, etc) to do a shorter fast 16-17h broken with lean protein, or do a 20+h fast with a more balanced, larger meal.

Your more realistic then Dr Burg, even tho I respect him loads but your more real and understand what the majority of people's bodies go through. Dr Burg thinks we are super humans and his teaching is harsh for us to go by. You break it down more simply. Thank you !

With fasting or in general, how do you feel about sauerkraut ? Is it a good thing to eat a little of to boost gut microbiome and is it safe later in the day after the initial break with lean protein?
