I listen to BBC sounds mostly. There is a variety of podcasts and I personally like "The Archers" because one can hear differrent accents and the dialogues are the imitation of real talks. I am also keen on listening to Stacey Dooley`s podcasts because of her lovely voice. On the whole I keep focus on listetning to things, topics that I'm not into to ameliorate my listening and check how much of the unfamiliar content I am able to understand.

Hello there! I'm preparing myself for the C2, I am really looking forwars to do it at the end of this year but will see 😬, as I'm very more use to the american english accent, I have started to look for english accent podcast these days and my favourite one is "Normal not Normal" from the Phelps twins who performed Fred & George in the Harry potter series, It's very funny and if you enjoy harry potter films like I do, then you'll find it very pleasant! thanks ben for your videos 🙌🏼

@@katarzynaidzikowska4209 take one and tell us. I also think sometimes that it would be easy. Then I see the grammar part of this test and all I want to do is scream. Speaking with ease on a daily basis is entirely diferent beast than passing an exam. The scrutiny you are under is enormous- everything is picked apart and analyzed in search of slightest slips :D To add to it, we are not even aware of how many mistakes we make. That all surfaces when you are graded on such exam.

Hi! Thank you for the good advice! Recently, I also discovered a podcast named "Ologies", presented by Alie Ward, who hosts experts in different filelds. Any episode is dedicated to an "-ologie": the experts talks about the most intriguing details of their discipline and then they answer the listener's questions. I like it because of the wide range of topics (that also allow you to choose the ones that appeals you the most) and the relaxed style that makes you feel like you're just having a chat with your friends. Bye from Italy!

Really good recommendations. I would also add watching tv series without subtitles and listening to the BBC radio news to improve listening skills even further since they usually use advanced structures and vocabulary. It's amazing how massively it helps to listen to native speakers material. I went from not being able to pass the listening section of the CAE a year ago to consistently get around 80-90% correct answers with barely any specific exam practice.

I use Ted on a regular basis, but I must admit that I'm totally hooked to the BBC radio program Desert Island Discs, in which famous people are interviewed about their personal and professional lives. I just love that program. Some of my favorite ones are Bill Gates, Tom Hanks, Kylie Minogue, Pat McGrath, Bruce Springsteen, David Beckham, Ed Sheeran, John McEnroe, Professor Carlos Frenk, Levi Roots..., there are so many that I love. I listen to them over and over again and I never get tired of them.

Thank you for all your videos, they always radiate such genuine love for the language. My favourite podcasts are This American Life (f.e. The Call, or Raised by Wolf, or the stories by David Sedaris), Heavyweight (f.e. I think you would call this genre 'human interest' and, since I'm a psychologist, I guess it makes sense that I love this type of podcasts the most.

I would not expect Joe Rogan to be incuded in this list :D I listen to his podcasts. I like it, because it's better at showing live language than Ted Talk. I am not intereset in getting a certificate, beside B2 I got at uni. I only got the cert to get out of English class (class was ending with B2 level test, so I asked profesor whether showing B2 cert will dismiss me from attending the class) where I had to sit through a class with A1 students. Not that it's wrong to be A1, I was A1 at some point. Thing is- our uni had no funds to create groups based on English proficiency. Which resulted in me and few others to treat it as a tedious chore, not a class.
