It's not bad habits that have destroyed my confidence, it's my age! I'm 72 and have been mountain biking for decades but my skill set has been replaced by fear of injury. Now I'm not looking to attempt 25ft jumps any longer but I do wish that I could get some of my abilities back to enjoy tear-arsing down slopes but can't find the bravado to let the brakes go. C'mon, give an old guy a plan to get me back to some of the old days!

@@nucleardwarf1218 Love this mate, I truly hope I still have the fire at your age but on bikes you've got to send it or get hurt going too slow. Sucks I know so I'm riding as much as I can while the confidence is still there.

Hi, I'm new to mountain biking and seem to be falling into all the bad habits you mention. Not any longer though, thanks for the great advice. 👍

I’m definitely a lazy chain cleaner. Sometimes I lube it with black crap still on the chain. 🤦‍♂️

I tried dropping the seat in the ways that are recommended. I seem to ride better by keeping the seatpost up and using my inner thighs on the seat while standing to guide my bike while riding... Old moto-x habit?...I do drop the seat to start and ride up an incline from an awkward stop.

You won't get far with that technic, and you certainly limit your bike and your own abilities. In other words, you ride slow, and that's why it makes no difference for you :) From a motox guy...

That blue and white husky is so badass looking. I would like to see the yellow not yellow. Red would pop, black would do, but that yellow looks like poo :) Happy Holidays everyone!

It's true that content in these kinds of videos can be similar (after all, mountain-biking really isn't all that complicated once you know the basics) - but consider that there are new people getting into cycling all the time (and subscribing to this channel), and unfortunately these days people are very lazy when it comes to using a 'search' button for historic posts/content on social media...

...unfortunately any platform which rewards content creators financially (through Ad revenue and in the case of KZread, payments per views too), you can see there is an incentive to flood the platform with content if that is how you choose to make your living. fwiw. I think both EMBN and particularly GMBN have made a rod for their own backs now [with their publishers] insisting they release daily content... Their production values are very high (compared to most KZread channels) but you're inevitably going to see a lot more repeated subjects I fear - which can start to undermine the faith of the audience they've worked hard to establish over the years. So in that regard, I'd have thought that ultimately reverting to publishing perhaps two or three new videos a week is more than sufficient - where their time and money can be spent focussing on quality (and even higher production detail/scripting/interesting locations etc.) rather than quantity.

Yes, I call it a video for the sake of a video. Generally poiness stuff just to get another video out.
