Wow. Your video on your website with the couple reacting is goals! The flash of her mother & then her got me. 😢 That is so beautiful. I am an NC wedding videographer too & I am always trying to elevate my videos.
These are great tips! Always love when you put out these videos!
great stuff! YES love the markers when editing - I found this to be helpful in sorting the whole dialogue and story of my films too
Thanks for the great video! Story, story, story! I like your cinematic camera moves too! Especially with a long lens, it doesn't take much movement to make a cinematic move, just a few inches to the left or right...
Great video and tips. Thank you!
Thanks for the great recommendations!! 🙏Congratulations!👏
These tips are gems!
Thank you so much for this!! Breaking away from chronological editing has been my biggest obstacle. I'm gonna watch this 10 more times.

Thank you so much!!! I know it can be really tempting just to keep it simple with chronological editing. Maybe for your next film, find one moment that is really powerful, emotional, funny, and start your film with that moment. Even if you stick to the linear format after, mixing it up can be really refreshing!
What a helpful video thank you!!
Great video, story is king!!
Definitely I helpful video to watch!!
Amazing!!!
Great video

Your top artist choices are all on the top of my list. I'm currently an editor for Wedditor on the side, and the hardest part is the client that I'm working with likes chronological style edits and that's completely the opposite of the way I edit my own films, but I do more of those than I do my films so it's hard to break out of the chronological style when I'm getting so much practice with it 🙃🤮

Dude, I totally see the frustration. I have edited others films and having to diverge from your style to meet their needs can be super challenging! I honestly feel that a non-linear/circular editing style is more desired from a story perspective but I get that some people just like to keep it to the point with chronological. That is awesome that you are a Wedditor though! Really cool, I've been meaning to get reconnected with the team this season. Still contemplating if I want to outsource this year.
Brooo. One of the highest paid videographer here in the Philippines(Jason Magbanua) who shots most celebrity wedding said that "Always edit/focus on story" Love thissssssss gonna rewatch this soon again. New subs here.

@@WaywardNorth actually just posted my first proper video on KZread this morning...would love to get your thoughts on it
I just filmed my first wedding (for my friends). OOf that was exhausting. Now Im editing it and I regret what I didn't film. I was not very focused on the important parts but it will be ok. They picked the music which I find even harder because for me it doesn't fit the mood. Yoíur tutorials helped me a lot, thanks

Hey at least you can look back on it and know you can do better for the next wedding! That’s growth right there 💪 congrats on your first wedding!!
Hey, when you get this, how do you color grade what’s your process? How do you match the video across different cameras? Remember using people who are not really associate with videos so you hire somebody they’re out of white balance and I’ve gotta fix it up. How do you adjust that so you get it good consistent product and as the lights and darts changed from environments you adjusted that which adds to the mood.
Since I get 99% of my wedding business as a subcontractor under DJs and photographers, I have to "find" the heart of the story in progress, on the day. I get to know the couple "on the fly". I do pretty well! I just concentrate my frame on their faces and listen to what they say.

Nothing wrong with that at all! My first few years when I was doing more volume, this is how I had to approach each wedding. Sometimes there was a good story, other times was just about capturing what is. Being present on the day is so important!
Great tips! SUBBED

Can I use these presets for Premiere Pro?
Can you tell us more about what you mean by "timeless"? I can't figure it out. Do you have any examples or anyting that we can use to learn on how to create timeless stories?
@WaywardNorth
2 жыл бұрын
Great question! Timeless films are created without the influence of trends, color should be more natural true to life, the editing is the most important. Nothing that is too fancy or flashy but follows the couple story is an emotional, story driven way!
How much time do you spend editing 1 wedding video in total?
how long is the final video you give the client, please?
@WaywardNorth
2 ай бұрын
Depends on several factors but the easiest way to navigate each wedding film is to build out an investment with a designation length in mind. I have 3 packages that range from 3 minute, 7 minute, and 12 minute. It also depends on what happened during the wedding. First look, ceremony, speeches, reception, etc.

Thank you. In Ghana, we give over an hr. Every aunty or uncle wants to see themselves in the video. Thanks for this info.
Do you use keyframes in your edits?
