@7:30 “resellers doing the same thing for 30 years only have 1 year experience, not 30” I’ve been selling on eBay regularly since 2010. When I watch youtubers sharing valuable advice who have only been reselling for a year or two, I feel like a baby who has been crawling this whole time and now I’ve learned to walk. Then “back from burnout” mentioned your channel and I’ve been watching the last few days. Your videos are next level. You have a wealth of knowledge, sir. Soon I will learn to run.

Have been running a clothing store for the last two years, from home. 90% clothing, 10% Hard goods. Of the clothing, 90% is used and 10% is brand new with tags. I understand with a clothing store, of having a low sell through rate. Just passed 800 active listings. Some things that have been helping me in the last month: 1) I try to get 1 or more auctions (7 day) for the week, Sunday night to Sunday night, 2) as Chris says, change some prices on your listings daily 3) I only run 1% on the promoted listings ( $0.17 to $0.89 per item if it sells-- doesn't kill my profits) 4) most of my clothing was bought for a $1 and makes about $6- $10 total profit 5) Working on hard goods, is hard-- higher sell through rate, lower profits (from retail arbitrage) 6) Find items you can buy multiples of, make one listing for 10 items, (frees up time it would have taken to make 9 other listings) 6a) Found 11 pair of jeans brand new with tags same size and style at good will, made one listing, one listing was $39.99 * 11 items Thanks Chris for the 5 quick tips, really helps to direct where i would like to go with my at home business.

do you go to places like ross , good will , etc to buy your used clothes and re sell them or do you manufactuer your own clothes? ive seen on ebay that there are some items that you cant sell cause the company of the items will tell ebay to take down those items you've listed up.

eBay has always done what "they" want...many of the things they do are just new "leaders" coming in trying to stake their claim. It isn't always what is best for eBay. The company had been going downhill for a decade.

Great video. And I love your attitude, sharing ides and tips to help one another. I've been on Ebay for 20 years and have sold about $1.5M to date. started with used items, then thrift store items, now I have my own brand of products and just sell that exclusively. It's highly competitive, and it's getting tougher and tougher to compete. My sales have gone down tremendously and it's a hard time right now, not gonna lie. Just trying to figure out the GAME! Ebay and Amazon both.... we are just getting crushed. But I've had slow times before and have recovered, and I know it will happen again - just gotta fight for it. China is horrible, they are so cheap, they lie cheat and steal their way to dominating the listings on Ebay and Amazon both, it's so frustrating when you have to adhere to rules your competitors do not. We also have our own e-commerce store as well, and I put effort into that now also and we are actually making more money there now than on Ebay or Amazon - never thought I'd see that day so it feels amazing.

My 2 cents...Stay strong everyone. Get into replenishables like Chris suggested. Approximately 9 month and counting until we pull out of the 'Postal Union'. When that happens postal rates from overseas shipping should skyrocket. Say bye bye to the ultra-low e-packets coming into the U.S. Most established U.S. based companies in the reselling business should get a boost. Plugging away with fingers crossed.

As always Chris, great immediately implementable ideas. Thanks. A few tips - 1. Void fill for packing - go to a local newspaper and check for newspaper end rolls. I sell about 150-200 items per month & a roll lasts me about 1 month and costs $1-2 per roll. They are heavy and a bit of a pain to store, but so cheap that I never worry about using as much as I want. 2. Check out using Regional A boxes if you are not already. From one coast to another it costs $10.87. Hope you all have a great spring.

You said something that seems strange to me "I rarely have items sell after 180 days" In most B&M pre-internet marketing a 90 day turnover was considered high, even for a specific size bolt in a hardware store. Because they paid rent on the space and so the item had to justify it's taking up space in a shop. it looks like you are paying rent in a warehouse, no? You measure the entire actual cubic shelf space (not the isles or head room) and divide that by the monthly rent to come up with a cubic foot rate. If you haven't sold an item that is taking up 1 cubic foot of space, after 180 days you multiply the monthly cubic foot rental by 6 (~180 days) to come up with a loss for that item (storage charge). The idea used to be that every cubic foot of space should be earning it's keep. Of course for someone working out of spare bedroom that doesn't matter. Well, until the bedroom becomes over packed with ebay merch.

I source extremely cheap so I accept any offer above 70% of asking price just for the cash flow. Sell through of 35%. I will begin experimenting with promoted listings more. Hi Chris First time I saw your video and was impressed my the quality of information you shared....really loved it. I have done sales on EBay and Etsy but by no means a pro at either. Both sites are definitely a challenge......my biggest issue is not being able to keep up with adding listings, you can get behind very fast. Anyway, you were talking about replenishing your store.....almost understood the formula .....push 10 different good selling items with a $10.00 profit and sell 10 of each daily would equal the $1000 daily .......right? I have an approximate question, how many items should you carry to make $100 a day and $500 and then the $1000.00. Of course you need to know what type of items you need to sell to be able to meet those goals daily. My brain cannot figure that far, lol. I really enjoyed your video and look forward to more, how often do you have one? Have a Happy Sales Day!! Robin

yea I was already paying over trending (not too much over) for promoted, been doing this for a few weeks and it does seem to be working. I normally don't do auctions but when I'm not sure of the value of an item, Ill set up an auction with a fairly high starting bid and if no one bids after a week, ill run the auction again with a lower starting bid.. just sold an item like that.. and I also do what you referenced.. also, I will list with BIN Best Offer and if that doesn't get attention then I will relist (not revise, as long as there are no watchers) with a lower BIN and sometimes raise the Promoted to over Trending (and of course make other changes like change opening pic) that seems to work fairly well... FINALLY Yes I'm revising about 4% per day ( hack I learned from you) and yes more traffic and more sales.. thanks for the tips...

Very good advice. I am going to save your video so I can go back to it. If I had one sale a day I would be happy at this point. Mainly I am looking for things to sell and learn from the mistakes I made years ago. So I am a beginner again and I hope it works out better this time. Im not doing goodwill or keeping a lot of product this time because I bought too much stuff that didnt sell. I am more focused on drop shipping but I am not crazy about having to pay a monthly fee to shopify, so I am not using them. I only have 29 listings on so far. lol. but I am working on learning and finding things to drop ship every day.

I am selling 2-4 things a day now which is good for me. I think I am making money but not sure. I deduct ebay fees 10%, and paypal 2.9% and .30. I am not sure of the final value fee, and i can only hope I have covered all my bases. Fees really cut into profits.

Sometimes I feel like my listings are being suppressed, like I search my item before i list it, i see what ppl are asking for it, i see what it has sold for. So I was watching this one item that was in an auction format, the item was already bid up to $165 the others listed were buy it now asking $300 or best offer. So I listed my item at $165 or best offer and my item was in the original box with paper work and extras, the one being bid on didnt even have the box or any extras, just the unit itself, and my listing sat for a week with almost no views and 0 watchers and the one I was watching eventually bid up to $176 over that week and I am like WTF do these people not see my friggin item? Do they not see i have 100% feedback? Like wtf is going on?

How do you find out what the top 10 ebay selling items are.

Not ashamed to say I fall in to the category of having a store that was high functioning but has declined gradually as I took offence rather than to run with eBay who kept moving the goalposts for promoted listings and top rated seller. The high rate of returns on clothing where buyers 'freehire' my expensive bespoke suits has also reduced my interest in restocking . I will refresh, rethink and relist: Thanks for the tips :)

Still a little confused with the 'sell through rate'...shouldn't it be the quantity of items, rather than the number of listings, when doing the math? Your content is great, thank you!

Just found your channel and I'm glad I did. Can you explain more about what you mean by "adjust prices daily." Does this mean adjust up or down or both? Is this just a way to increase search results by showing activity? Thanks

Exactly it. Don't let your store and/or listings get stagnate. eBay's algorithm loves activity. As far as adjusting, look around at your competition. It may be up or down depending of the going rate. Use lowest to highest on eBay's search for your particular items.

Is promoted listting the same as booting the listting, I see you can boot your listting at the start when making the listting and promote a listting when it qualify for promoted listting... is there two promotions? Love the content thanks for all your advice.

When Relisting I noticed the system Dropped ‘minimum offer’ way down to half the list price!!!! I have to watch carefully so now I NEVER USE THAT Automatic Button ‘Drop Price By....’!, I edit it Myself to ensure the Minimum Offer is where I want it! Can lose a lot of $$ if that minimum offer drops way low and you don’t see it!,
