Frame datas easy for the most part pokes are usually 7 frames so if ur doing a string that say minus 8 on block u can get hit if it minus 6 or above u can block after u do that string of buttons and if its plus u can sometimes poke after those combo strings

The ingame tutorials are good but explanations in a video help me more, you showed me some mistakes I’ve been making. Subbed.

Thanks so much for these tips. My thing about a lot of the "gimmick combo" videos is that unless those combos begin off of very-quick-startup normals, you'll rarely be in situations where your opponent is standing still long enough for you to initiate those combos. For me, it's more useful to have a mild-damage combo I have a million ways to reliably enter, than to have one devastating combo where I can only reliably enter it in a small number of circumstances, such as if my opponent is in the air (or frozen from a kameo).

This is a real good vid. Wish I would have watched this sooner! lol I spent way too much time practicing combos just to whiff on them in game 😂 looking forward to more vids

What I can’t do is just hit, when the opponent is spamming all of his attacks on my block I can’t place a single hit, or if I can do it he blocks and can’t do my combo so I need to grab

That’s a facts I’m not a liu kang main but I’m decent with him I could be better. I’ve only been playing with him for about 2 weeks ( not consistently) but he’s fun and makes you play the game honest and with a lot of grabs 😂😂😂🔥

@@ItsFlavGaming I'm a Raiden main, and since he is safe on almost all his strings, I go for Sektor rather than Kano. I just recently started adding delay wake up against aggressive players like Johnny, Shao, Liu. Only weakness for me right now lol

@@x3xicex3x I played a Johnny cage and Stryker team last night on stream and it’s the most annoying thing ever. He’s safe on everything and has extra pressure with Stryker. You have to sit and block the whole time 😂😂

Raiden is super easy to play with. Lol his combos are easy and he has a storm cell move that you can use with a kameo to keep you safe.

And since combo's just dont seem to be my thing...what characters do you feel with the right "game plan" can be competitive all while not relying on combos?

You could use reiko, he has zoning and he has keep away moves. Geras is hard to play but you don’t necessarily HAVE to do combos with him to win, but you have to be able to stagger and know his buttons. If you want my geras episode you will see an EASY combo I do consistently. Smoke as well he has mixups and you can just get people off grabs and mix.

This sounds good till you gotta go up against ninja Killa 😂

Dude how do I deal with liu kangs F434. I can flawless block the last hit but when they don’t do the last hit im just stuck holding block while they repete F43 over and over until I press a button and get full combod

Honestly I just try my best to not let them get into it fr. Your down 1 is faster than the mid. It’s a 12 frame mid. I usually only can get into the string after I hit them with a poke because doing it straight up in neutral don’t work. Liu kang struggles mid range. He needs to be full screen for zoning or up close. If you keep your distance you have a better chance he can use his kameo to get in or dash and I usually try and check him with a down 3. It’s hard because they will stagger that string so you can armor through it regardless if he presses it or not. Just be careful because they will start blocking it so you just have to fake the armor and run in for a grab. It will get them thinking about finishing the string

@@ItsFlavGaming I try and poke but I think me ducking and throwing it out is not fast enough and since they’re just going to be standing anyways I’m just going to throw out a S1 since most characters is 7 or 8 frames anyways. Thanks for the help.

I got to about 6 minutes in. The 3 bars of music on repeat is almost as loud as your voice. I respect what you want to tell us. The background music isn't totally necessary at that volume level. ❤❤❤ it's hard for me to listen to what you are saying and drown out the music as well as the games music. ❤❤
