    Honestly there are really good dancers on this planet but I've never seen someone dance like Michael did. Every movement is perfect, comes at the right time and is in tune with music. But there is more than that, something hypnotizing, something beyond technique. When Michael dances he really embodies the music, he becomes music.

    MJ studied the all time greats, and made each dance move his own. Few artists can say they have that much discipline in the craft. No wonder he's the GOAT. Great video from the detail. Long live the king of pop. 🎉

    Of all his talents, his dancing is for me the most outstanding. It’s what made Michael J. Jackson *Michael Jackson* - the GOAT. The Greatest Entertainer of All Time. He had the stamina of an elite athlete and phenomenal balance that were unmatched. And I don’t know if it was intentional, but some of his moves like the stuttering side step, the sneaky crotch grab right before the chorus, or the little skip (don’t know official names!) etc…..you just can’t help but chuckle! He is a TRUE GENIUS in the way he infused humour into his choreography.

    Love the video!!! I would love to shoutout Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers who helped MJ before the Victory and Bad short film. Particularly helping him elongate the stride of his moonwalk, adding the circle glide and pronouncing the popping in Bad. He has an interview explaining this on KZread somewhere.

    Maaan MJ's dance moves are soo legendary that it's still being imitated today. The entire world can identify his signature moves. I don't think there's been an artist in history that's had so many people trying to imitate his looks and dances.. You have artists like Usher, Chris Brown, Beyonce, Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake who've all tried to incorporate his moves into their repotoire

    Honestly, MJ is overrated. Many people would outsing him (he was a better singer as a child than as an adult). Many people would also out dance him (if you say no then you must live under a rock and are underexposed to the world of dance). MJ is no genius because most of his signature moves come from other people like Bill Bailey, Jeffrey Daniels, poppin taco, bob fosse, boogaloo shrimp, etc. A true genius wouldnt have 95 percent of signature moves that come from OTHER people. Not to mention the fact that he didnt play any instruments nor did he write all his music. MJ is overrated.

    While MJ's dance moves weren't original or unique, he managed to mix and match styles like no other dancer. His signature is the seamless flow of astonishing moves WHILE being able to sing perfectly. To be quite honest, I've always had a hard time determining whether he was more of a singer or a dancer. I guess that's why the best way to describe him was "the entertainer."

    I would love to know how the Backslide became known as the Moonwalk. Was that Michael's name for it or did someone else come up with the name? Was it known by some dancers as the Moonwalk before the Motown 25 performance? If not Michael, who was the first to call it the Moonwalk? I've never seen or heard of any reviews or discussions of Motown 25, in magazines or on talk shows for example, as I'm sure it was a big talking point, so it would be interesting if anyone has a record of something like this, to see people's reactions to seeing Michael doing it for the first time.

    I think MJ called it the moonwalk and No offense the moonwalk took off when white people were exposed to it in…black or urban communities it was the back slide and people been doing it and boogaloo shrimp who taught mike how to do a better moonwalk as well as Jeffery Daniel who also taught mike made it famous in urban areas before it was world wide famous..really wasn’t much of reaction in urban communities like Latoya said but for everyone else it was magic😂💯 mike was global as that cute black kid that can sing and dance and made catchy tunes and was accepted my other races grew up in the public eye when tbh black music was not accepted world wide like that mike was the perfect person to show urban dance globally💯

    The circle glide was originally called Moonwalk according the Jeffrey Daniels (or another dancer MJ worked with) but MJ swapped the Backslide nane for Moonwalk because it sounded better.

  • @camaradiop3731

    @camaradiop3731

    7 ай бұрын

    The "moonwalk" was originally known as the BACKSLIDE; I remember that vividly, as my brother did it in a talent show, and I picked it up later, whereas the so-called circle slide is really the MOONWALK, and the "side slide" is really the floater or floating. The white media (hate to sound mean, but it's the truth) picked up the term and didn't bother to see if it was the correct term and ran with it. They CONSTANTLY do this; rap is misnomered as "hip hop", when rap is one of the 9 parts of hip hop; hip hop is the entire 9-part culture; rap is part of the 9-part culture called hip hop. It's immensely exasperating; even blacks are obtusely calling rap hip hop.

    Ummm I think the Jeffrey Daniels is slightly inaccurate. Other choreographers of Michael's said he had learned the moonwalk in the late 70s and it was supposed to be done for Don't Stop Til You Get Enough. It sounds like he was looking all over for the perfect "Michael version" but you never know. However those two clips of Jeffrey looks like Michael kept and used those moves in a timely manner. The lean, the mime, the slow circle walk, etc

    Thank you for not attributing the foot support to Elvis. This dance move was not invented by Fred Astaire or Elvis. It was made in the '20s and '30s. MJ created his own version of it.

    Essayer de plonger dans sa carrière solo au sein des Jackson 5. Je penses qu’il y a assez d’informations alléchantes qui pourront constituer de très beaux documentaires
