5 Cures for Scabies: 3 DIY home cures and 2 prescription cures (5% permethrin + more)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

No "secrets". No ads! Can you treat yourself for scabies at home? Yes! There are at least 5 treatments for scabies: 5% permethrin cream, ivermectin, benzemul, crotamiton (Eurax), and sulfur lotion. In the USA permethrin cream is usually prescribed, but there are other effective choices. This especially important as permethrin resistant scabies mites are showing up.

    @@lisamazur8663 Hi Lisa, the black things are usually sebum (fat) that skin pores create. And when skin is irritated it can produce a lot more than usual. So the more you apply treatments the more irritated your skin gets and the more sebum it produces. It can be any color from white to dark black depending on if it is fresh and clean or is it has reacted with oxygen in the air or has picked up some dirt. Some folks go overboard "treating" their skin and this happens. So if you use alcohol or hydrogen peroxide or any irritating treatment on your skin things can get worse or just not get better. The best thing is to use a neutral pH liquid soap to wash and not use a ton of it. Soft Soap or Dial or Equate liquid hand soaps are all mild, neutral pH soaps. You don't need anything fancy.

    @@lisamazur8663 When skin gets irritated it produces extra oils (called sebum) which can look like white strings. It can turn dark or even black after contact with air or dirt. When such stuff is coming out it usually means the person has been using something that irritated their skin and should back off. Even applying too much alcohol or hydrogen peroxide (or too frequently) can cause the body to produce excess sebum.

    @Lawrence Carver Only people who have had scabies will ever understand how horrible it can be…both the suffering and the ignorance or doctors. Doctors have a weird kind of tunnel vision. They want things to be sort of mathematical…these symptoms = this disease and this treatment = a cure for that disease. The big problem is all the symptoms of scabies (all the itching, crawling sensations, etc) are actually an allergic reaction to the crap scabies mites leave behind…the body is trying to clear out the garbage the mites produce (poop, saliva, shells, etc). And lots of problems have these symptoms. I don't believe scabies is really covered in their educations.

    Scabies makes us comrades. Scabies is such a horrible thing to have. And so isolating. And exhausting. Anyone who hasn't had it simply can't grasp how awful it can be. And there is so much wrong, misleading information out there on what works to cure it. The treatments that do work are tedious and can take weeks to cure, but they do work, especially when one attacks scabies from more than one direction (like using a topical treatment and oral ivermectin and treating one's laundry PLUS treating for the bacterial infections caused by scabies). I realize this disease saps your energy but by doing the things that will cure and not doing stuff that won't make any difference, you can squeeze the life out of this damned, invisible enemy.

    Hi Max! I know that’s probably not yours name but idk what else to call you! I just wanted to follow up on your treatment plan that I started June 2nd! I know some people never come back to tell us how it worked so I wanted to contribute! I followed the ivermectin horse paste and the sulfer cream 10%. I started June 2nd after having scabies since April 2021, the flare up came weeks later around May 15th. The treatment plan you created works!!!! I treated my case as severe case. About 2 days after I took the ivermectin paste first dose my scabies itch got a lot better along with the sulfur cream! I could see a big difference with the itch but I did suffer with mild sunburn as you mentioned with the sulfur cream which is another issue to fight! I followed the routine drying all my clothes and linens first then washing and drying again. I also bought a mite additive to Add it to my laundry that I ordered off Amazon that kills any Mite bugs just as an extra precaution I did this every single day I washed and dried everything I wore every time I wore it or used it I kept the same routine. I also sprayed down my furniture and mattress with a permethrin spray I got from Amazon every day for the first 2 weeks prior to me starting the treatment which I’m pretty sure was over kill! Today is June 9th and I no longer spray daily but I am still washing every single day to prevent a new flare up. You saved my life, this threw me into a deep depression for the first week I cried every day I woke up. My skin has cleared up about 90% I still have a couple light rashes and I still itch here and there but I’m good for the most part! I still have I think 3 more weeks to go even though my symptoms are almost gone I’m going to treat myself until the end of June I think I have a mild case but I want to be sure it’s gone! You are the best thanks so much for the details the research the responses to my questions I know you are a busy man with a family you are appreciated! Fellow followers please follow the treatment it works!!!!!!

    Hi AK47, my real name IS Maxim. I'm gonna make a wild guess and assume yo mamma didn't name you AK47. I'm glad you are getting better after such a long, miserable time. And I appreciate getting a report from the front on how well this program is working. It's true that most folks who get cured just disappear, but that's natural. There is nothing to add to the laundry wash that will have any effect on killing mites. Also, the 1/2% permethrin spray is effective for up to 6 weeks, so one doesn't need to spray often. But I do understand about wanting to be "sure" and also simply wanting to "do something" all the time. By the way, there is no need to wash laundry to kill scabies mites. All you ned to do is to put dry (dirty) laundry in the dryer on high heat for 30 minutes. It is the hot dry heat that kills them. Then you can wash but only if you want to. If you wash first you have to completely dry and then run for another 30 minutes on high heat. So it's best to dry first. I found Eurax cream was the solution to the sulfur itch. It eased itching, healed beaten up skin and was mildly scabicidal. It is used to treat children's sensitive skin to cure scabies. I used it between my weekly 5% permethrin treatments. I only discovered in in the 4th week of the program, but I loved it and wished I'd tried it sooner. You can order it from England. It is not expensive ($9 for big tube 3.4 oz/100mL) but does take about 9 days to arrive. I usually ordered several at a time to save on shipping. Here's my page on it: maximpulse.com/permethrin/eurax_for_scabies.html Here is where to order it: www.expresschemist.co.uk/product_2683_eurax-cream-100g.html

    I should mention cleaning. The best way to treat laundry is to put dry (dirty) laundry in the dryer and run it on high heat for 30 minutes. It is the hot, dry heat that kills the mites so do not wash first. If you need to you can wash AFTER drying. More info here: maximpulse.com/permethrin/treatinglaundry.html Also, scabies mites get around by holding on with tiny pincers so they cannot hang onto smooth or hard surfaces. So there is zero need to clean hard floors, counters, toilet seats and so forth. Also, scabies mites are virtually never found on rugs. Scabies mites are attracted to warmth so they will only move to another warm surface. It takes 15+ minutes to warm up a cloth chair or bed to tempt a mite to walk on over. Once off they are immobile once they cool to room temperature and then die in 2 or 3 days. They are quite different from head lice, bedbugs or body lice. An alternative to running stuff in the dryer is to simply put it aside untouched for 3 days and any mites on it will be dead. No need to bag or wash anything.

    Scabies is notoriously hard to diagnose because all the symptoms are actually caused by your immune system mounting an allergic reaction to the crap the mites leave behind (poop, saliva, etc). SO doctors can be mystified by those allergic symptoms because anything could be causing them, unless you have the "gold standard" scabies symptoms (burrows between fingers, etc).

    @Momotaro .oOMegidoraReincarnatedOo. I’m not a doctor so I can’t say really, all I can say is go to your doctor or dermatologist to get a for sure diagnoses. Scabies can be mistaken for a lot of things and a lot things can be mistaken for scabies, dermatitis, eczema etc. all I can tell you from experience is it started on my neck as 2 whelps no itching a month later I woke up with this insane itch and rash on my four arms I went to a urgent clinic because it will be weeks before I can get into a dermatologist and I cannot wait that long. The doctor confirmed that it was scabies which I had assumed as well because all the symptoms and research I have looked up. He gave me the cream This is the only video that I found that really goes in detail on the products that you can use and purchase yourself without a doctors prescription. The site that Max has has so much information so I would advise you to go to the doctor to get a for sure diagnosis first and then make a decision on what you should do the doctor should give you something if they confirm that is scabies but in most cases whatever they give prescribe might not work or kill it with one round of meds. Like Max states in his video scabies needs to be fought in two ways with topical solution such as sulfur lotion and oral medicine such as ivermectin. As of today I’ve only taken the ivermectin horse paste that he speaks of me his video and it’s only been 24 hours but I already see a difference so I’m going to continue to take it, it has gotten better with the sulfur lotion but I still have a itch but it’s bearable. I think I have a mild case but I’m going to treat it as a severe case because when the bumps popped up on my forearm up, my upper body arms and back engulfed in a nasty rash within the next 24 hours.

    Doctors have a very hard time diagnosing scabies unless they see the "gold standard", classic symptoms such as burrows between one's fingers. But not everyone who has scabies has those symptoms and so they go misdiagnosed or undiagnosed. Scabies can imitate many other diseases and confuse doctors and dermatologists. In fact, I found dermatologists tp be pretty worthless where scabies is concerned. Sometimes an inner city clinic sees a lot of parasitic diseases and can spot scabies better than the supposed experts. I think it is simpler to just try one or more of the scabies treatments and see if one gets better.

    Hi Leta, Cats carry a different species of scabies mites than humans do. That means if some cat mites wander onto a human they will die in a few days. They cannot reproduce on a human, so once the cat is gone, the mites will be gone in a few days, too. So if you have scabies, it came from someone other than the cat. And my approach is just to try the treatment(s) and see what happens. I'm not a doctor so I can't diagnose anything legally. But if you don't have scabies you might want to consider ringworm as a possible diagnosis. My daughter thought she caught scabies from me and it turned out to be ringworm. pets.webmd.com/cats/ss/slideshow-skin-problems-in-cats The interesting thing about ringworm is it is caused by a fungus…the same fungus that causes jock itch or athletes foot. It can spread all over the body, and is usually found in dark, warm, moist areas of the body. I once had a really stubborn case of jock itch and wound up writing a short book describing the treatment that cured me. You can download the book for free here: maximpulse.com/itch_cure/cure_fungal_itch.html If that doesn't cure it, then there are pills you can take to cure a fungal infection described here: www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/what-is-the-treatment-for-ringworm If you want to email me directly, there is an email link at the bottom of all my web pages.

    @@maximpulse You could be right about it coming from something else because someone said that they have other mites. One of my daughters works at a gym so it could have been there, or visiting a friend who gave her some used clothes she didn't wash, or work, who knows. However I feel convinced it is scabies because a consistent row of two or more bumps a few water blisters on my fingers, is located on the knuckles/feet/ankles/elbows/back of the knee but it is the intense itching and at times the bite feeling at night that had me concerned. At first I didn't know what was going on so I was treating with calamine lotion mixed with benonite clay, tea tree. It helped but very little, and when I noticed more welts would show up on the back of my arms and legs like it keep creeping to another area I went on the suspicious that it could be scabies. I went to the Dollar Tree to get Sergent's Bansect for dogs that has 45% Permetrin+55% other ingredient. I notice the agitation of the areas turned red when I would apply as if the insect was in fight or flight. And last week taking the oral apple flavor Ivermetrin horse paste. I got a topical fungacide at the farm store and it gave relieve but didn't slow down the breakouts or intense redness. I do use it to treat any posiable second infection And dosed it down in a lotion until my Amazon order of Martins 10% Permthrin Indoor/Outdoor came in the mail. That last time I had something scary like that was 27 yrs ago when was watching a friends baby and slept on their couch which I believe was ringworm. The following morning my whole midrift was rashed over, itched like hell, and then healed with flaky skin. I worked at a nursing facility then and lotrimin was a common nursing aid item I got a hold of to use to help clear that fungus. I'd like to thank you again for your website, and I'm willing to try the treatments because I know it meant to be taken as a temporary treatment to rid this pest. I've been exposed to other toxic chemicals like perms/hair color/etc. more times than I can count for what seems like now vanity reasons.

    @@robicarm Almost all the symptoms of scabies are actually created by the immune system…all the itching, crawling sensations and bumps and so forth are really an allergic reaction created by the immune system in response to the stuff the mites leave behind (poop, saliva, dead eggs, shells, etc). That's why after one catches scabies there are no symptoms for 4 to 6 weeks. It takes that long for the immune system to notice something is amiss. But you can't actually feel or even see the mites. I realize it feels like you can feel them, but that is an illusion. They produce chemicals in their saliva which mask their presence from the immune system. This can often lead to a bacterial infection because the chemicals which mask the presence of the mites also allows staph and strep bacteria to go unnoticed and then they can multiply out of control. So then one can be fighting both scabies and a bacterial infection. Please read my page here about this and what one can do: maximpulse.com/permethrin/scabiesandbacter.html Also, if you want to, there is a link at the very bottom of all my web pages to email me directly.

After the initial thought that you were cured, did you get any occasional breakouts of spots that itch ( but less than during scabies itself) and how you you feel at the moment, has your skin fully healed to pre-scabies era?

  • @maximpulse

    It took a while for my skin to get back to normal, but no, I did not have any recurring scabies symptoms. All the symptoms of scabies are actually an allergic reaction created by the immune system against the waste the mites leave in their travels. But after having scabies the body's immune system is on continual alert, ready to quickly react again. With some people their immune system mistakes waste from dust mites for scabies waste and reacts, attacking it and this results in having "scabies symptoms" without actually having scabies…or any parasitic disease. This broad allergy tends to go away gradually, although for some it can take a couple years.

    Hi Documentary Magic, It can be very hard to diagnose scabies. The scabies mites on dogs and mites are two different species. That means your dog's mites can transfer over to you, but they will die in a few days. But as long as your dog has mites, they can drive you crazy, too. So the solution is to cure your dog and then you will be cured, too. Of course, there is no harm in treating you, too. That way you don't have to wait for the dog mites die slowly.

    When different species try to interbreed they usually have sterile or other weird offspring. You can pick up mites from a dog, but those mites can only reproduce on a dog, not on a human. The ones that get on a human can cause itching and so on, but they will die in a couple days. So if one cures the dog, shortly thereafter the human is cured, too.

    It sounds like you had a bacterial infection, and soaking and cleaning such infected sores can help. Soaking in salt water has never cured actual scabies. Scabies can be very hard to diagnose. Scabies often causes a bacterial infection which needs its own separate treatment (an antibiotic). So even after the scabies is cured one can still have symptoms which are of the bacterial infection. maximpulse.com/permethrin/scabiesandbacter.html

  • @maximpulse

    @maximpulse

    4 жыл бұрын

    Personally I made sure I was wearing "dryer treated" clothes every day, but I had a stubborn case of scabies. Each person gets to decide for themselves how thorough to be. There are some studies where people only made sure to have fresh clothes after doing their topical treatment once a week, others more often. There haven't been any studies just to compare this particular point. Also, scabies mites will die if they are off a human for more than a few days, so if you simply don't touch laundry for 3 or 4 days it will be safe to re-use. So you can just cycle through, for instance, four sets of towels or sheets. With some things I just tossed them in the hamper and then ran them together in the dryer every few days. I had a quilt I placed over the chair I watched TV in and I ran that in the dryer nightly because then I could start fresh the next day. I was extra careful because I simply did not want to have to do this whole program over again just because I wasn't picky enough.

    For two months I was diagnosed with a staph infection...Ended up going to the ER and they diagnosed me with Scabies on my shin and round worm infection on several other spots on my body from taking care of a large feral cat colony.Ivermectin 3 courses so far of 6 pill per course. and Amox.-Clav...They also said I might have Cat Scratch Disease,so I guess thats what the antibiotic is for? It probably wouldn`t have got so bad if it was mis diagnosed for 2 months....Well I still have a patch on my rt lower leg I`m fighting with...(Scabies.).... Thanks for the inf. from everyone...

    Scabies can cause a staph infection. I have an entire web page about that here: goo.gl/JbRRR8 But the best antibiotic for that is Cephalexin (which is belongs to the penicillin family). But if Amox-Clav cures you, that's OK, too, of course. Skin diseases can be very hard for doctors to diagnose because so many of the symptoms overlap. But cats and dogs and humans each carry different species of scabies mites. What that means is you can pick up some mites from a cat or dog, but they cannot reproduce on a human and they will die within a few days (without any treatment). If you have (or had) scabies it means you picked it up from another human or something that another human touched. But it takes 4 to 6 weeks for the itch to start after you catch scabies, so it can be murder trying to figure out where you got it. I say "Who Cares?" as long as you get cured!!! On my web site I have a link to email me (at the bottom of every page). Email me and let me know what you have been trying and maybe we can get the last of your scabies knocked out.

    Hey all, we have the scabies too, been battling it for about 2months and its been miserable! We've been treating ourselves with some kind of all natural stuff we got off the internet, cost over $200 for all the stuff and been using it for 1 week now, we'll see how it works. Going to do the sulfer lotion if this dont work but don't know where to get any.

    Hi Randy, I have a web page with lots of information on sulfur lotion and where to buy it pre-mixed or make it yourself. I made my own which was a lot cheaper, but I know some folks would rather spend a more and keep their fingers clean. www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/soothing_itch.html There's a link to a concentrated sulfur lotion for around $12 that will make 2 and a half quarts of 10% lotion. You don't have to spend a pile of money. Most of the stuff sold on the internet as cures are bogus. I can't find the link to the article where these "cures" were tested, but they didn't rate very well at all. The makers of that stuff tend to prey on people who want "natural" treatments. The funny part of that is that permethrin is a synthetic form of pyrethrum which is made from the pollen of the Chrysanthemum flower. And, of course, sulfur is natural and has been used for 2000 years. Ivermectin was discovered being produced by a bacteria on a golf course in Japan (and has been used by millions of people with almost no side effects). Ivermectin is an oral medicine which I found helps when used at the same time as putting the medicated lotions on one's skin. I wouldn't use only ivermectin, though…but with another treatment (such as sulfur lotion). Using two treatments at once attacks the scabies mites from two directions. Benzyl benzoate is a chemical compound so I wouldn't call it natural. With all these treatments one should just do as much as recommended and no more. Scabies is hard enough on one's skin…it doesn't help to go overboard. There is a great article that describes the discovery and much more about ivermectin here: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3043740/ My web site has a ton of information I have been assembling for over a year: www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/index.html There is an email link at the bottom of all my pages so you can write to me directly with any questions, if you want to. Also I have been using sulfur soap in the shower, I put tea tree oil in my shampoo and conditioner and body wash, and I have been alternating after shower routines with coconut and tea tree oil with some neem oil and the new stock that you recommended. I wish I could talk to you in person LOL as this is so frustrating and I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I just replied to your email to me. it can be every hard to diagnose skin problems because so many of the symptoms are actually an allergic reaction created by the immune system. And of course until one pins down the cause it is impossible to prescribe a definite treatment. In my case I just tried the scabies treatment(s) and got cured. I will never be able to prove I ever had scabies. I just know the scabies treatments cured me and that's good enough for me.

    Hi Stephanie, you're right! I got caught up in life and didn't make all the other videos I intended to. My creative energies blow hither and thither like a tumbleweed. But I did make a truly complete web site that has answers to all your questions! I made my own 5% permethrin lotion and the entire description is here: goo.gl/cBCcBk under the heading "I made my own 5% permethrin lotion" I also made 10% sulfur lotion from Nustock…the recipe, how long to apply it for and sources are here: goo.gl/6vOcTJ I also made up a chart so it's easier to know what to do one what days here: goo.gl/G96L5m If you are battling a stubborn case you should read how to treat your laundry here: goo.gl/awZwH5 AND you might find it beneficial to read up on how to treat a systemic bacterial infection…which scabies mites can cause. goo.gl/JbRRR8 My philosophy is to whack scabies from two angles: by using a topical treatment AND to take oral ivermectin. Then treat laundry so any stray mites or their eggs getting killed before re-using laundry. And then to consider also treatment for a possible bacterial infection. I don't want to get encyclopedic here…you can read all this on my web site. And there is a link at the bottom of every page so you can email me directly with any questions you might have. I don't make promises, but so far I have responded to every inquiry I have received over the years. I know how alone and isolated I felt when I had scabies…like living in a prison of pain. So I say "Scabies makes us comrades." Feel free to email or comment and I will do what I can to help you through this. Maxim

  • @maximpulse

    @maximpulse

    10 жыл бұрын

    It could be scabies. After picking up a scabies mite, it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks for the itching to start. That's because the itching is an allergic reaction to the mites' saliva, poop and whatever else they leave behind. So if you have been itching for 4 weeks, the mites have been on you for 8 or 10 weeks. The itch can come and go. Commonly the itch becomes worse in the evening.That is because the body changes at night (the parasympathetic system becomes dominant). Some people incorrectly believe the mites are becoming more active, but they aren't. It is just that the body is preparing for sleep and that changes the sensations. Also, I often found the itch went away during the day or if I kept my mind busy I sometimes simply "forgot" and didn't itch. Simply put: symptoms can vary a lot from person to person. One can even have scabies ant not ever itch at all. There can be bumps from the mites burrowing under your skin, but red marks could just be your body's reaction to the mites. Your body produces histamines, which cause hives (bumps) and itching…just like any other allergic reaction. Like when someone contacts something they are allergic to, the body can produce symptoms even in places the allergen didn't touch. Permethrin is irritating to the skin. More to some people than others. It can cause redness, hives (bumps), a burning sensation, itching…more for some folks than others…some folks have no reaction to permethrin. There is a suspicion that if one has an allergy to ragweed (pollen) one may have an allergic reaction to permethrin, too, because it is an altered form of pyrethrin which comes from flowers. It is possible to have scabies on one's face and scalp, but it is is usually among infants and the elderly…or people whose immune systems are weak…like HIV or diabetics. The main thing with scabies is that they lay eggs which the treatments don't kill. The treatments affect the hatchlings and the adults. But it takes 10-14 days for a hatchling to mature enough to be able to lay more eggs. So if you whack them once a week, eventually all the eggs will have hatched and all the mites killed and then you are cured. It is important to be disinfecting one's sheets, clothes and towels so you don't keep reinfecting yourself. See instructions at my site www.maximpulse.com There are several scientifically tested/proved treatments for scabies. More info at my web site: www.maximpulse.com Good luck and happy hunting! Being regular and diligent is the key to getting cured.

    Humans can pick up mites from cats or dogs, but the scabies (mange) mites from cats or dogs are different species and cannot reproduce on humans. That means the mites CAN wander onto you, but they will die within a few days. Of course, you can continue to pick up new ones and itch. If that is the situation, once you cure your cat, you will be cured, too. You can treat your cat several ways. A good page describing the various treatments is here: todaysveterinarytechnician.com/articles/taking-the-bite-out-of-feline-mites/ Here is a page which sells ivermectin for cats in a medicine called Heartgard: www.revivalanimal.com/product/heartgard-feline You can also do weekly sulfur dips for your cat, if you think your cat is washable (some cats will kill you in the process). Here is a reference about that: "While the Notoedres mite can be killed with many of the same products used to treat dogs with scabies, most of them are NOT safe to use in a cat. Cats are much more sensitive to some of the insecticides that are safe to use in the dog. The current recommended treatment for cats is to clip all long hair and then bathe the cat with a gentle cleansing shampoo. After the shampoo, a 2 to 3% lime sulfur dip (Lymdip) is applied to the entire surface of the cat. Some cats may require a sedative to be properly bathed and treated. This is repeated every seven days until the condition resolves and may require 6 to 8 weeks of treatment. " www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=1+2141&aid=737 Also, you can treat your cat's bedding by running it in the dryer on HIGH heat for 30 minutes. I have a lot more info about treating the environment on my website here: www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/treatinglaundry.html You can spray 1/2% permethrin on furniture to kill mites, but you have to be careful because WET permethrin is very toxic to cats. I have 3 cats and when I sprayed furniture I made sure the cats were in separate rooms and waited until the stuff was completely dry before releasing them. Once dry there was no problem, but wet permethrin can cause real nerve problems and even kill them. By being careful all my cats were fine. One last thing, we tried various cat drops and one actually caused one of our cats to go into spasms and we had to wash it off…so if you wind up trying some sort of drops (the kind you put on their necks), stick around and watch and be prepared to wash it off quickly. Whew! If you have any more questions there is a link to mail me at the bottom of all my web pages. I see that you've used horse paste for ivermectin. Have you ever used horse past moxidectin? It's new and more effective that ivermectin as its half life is 12 days so you only have to take it once. Just wondering if the horse paste is ok to take? The directions says not for use in humans.

  • @maximpulse

    @maximpulse

    4 жыл бұрын

    You may notice ivermectin horse paste also specifies that it is "Not for use in humans." It is not known if moxidectin is more or less effective than ivermectin for scabies. But it is true that the average half-life is about a MONTH while ivermectin's half-life is around 18 HOURS. You can see my graphs of this here: maximpulse.com/permethrin/moxidectin_01.html maximpulse.com/permethrin/ivermectin-calculating-a-dose.html So the idea is moxidectin might be more effective as it is working continuously while even if one took ivermectin twice a week it would be sort of a roller-coaster of concentration in the body. But that doesn't actually tell you if moxidectin or ivermectin is more effective…it just tells you which one is in the body longer. You might be interested to read about 1% ivermectin lotion. It is absorbed and released continuously so one only needs to apply it once a week. More on that here: maximpulse.com/permethrin/ivermectin-calculating-a-dose.html

    52thanks If you can get a skin scraping they might find the mites or eggs, but the test is only 50% reliable. That means half of the time when one is infested the test will show nothing. Usually doctors decide there is no problem with mites, but they really don't know that.It is very hard to tell if one has scabies. The mites are too small to see. All the symptoms one sees are really an allergic reaction. The only way I could tell was by doing the entire 29 day program and it cured me.But there are other parasites such as bed bugs, body lice and head lice.

  • @maximpulse

    @maximpulse

    A few people do have itching on the scalp. One can mix the sulfur or permethrin with hair conditioner and apply that, but one has to be careful not to get it into one's eyes, ears, nose or any other holes in one's head. Also, it's always a good idea to try anything new on a small area of one's skin and then wait half an hour to see how sensitive one's skin is. I mention hair conditioner (cream rinse) because that is what is used for treating head lice…permethrin mixed with hair conditioner. It dries and stays in place better than shampoo…and is easy to wash out later. Of course, the stuff for head lice is only 1% permethrin so it isn't appropriate for treating scabies mites. I imagine using skin lotion in one's hair would make for a real mess!

As I've been searching for borrows and track marks. Anyway, I've been giving malathion, I was just about to use this tonight shortly after taking a shower and I started to research this lotion. Not knowing its banned in the USA & other countries. My concern is due to my health conditions,"which 2 years ago my named Dr didn't know I had this condition as he didn't read the report from the specialist" I'm fearing he has over looked my condition and prescribed me this lotion. With this lotion being banned and even labelled an out of date pesticide is the correct for myself. D.

    All the symptoms of scabies are an allergic reaction created by the immune system to try to clean up the "trash" the scabies mites leave behind. You can imagine one allergic reaction can have overlapping symptoms with other such reactions. This is why doctors have such a hard time diagnosing scabies (unless one has the "gold standard" symptoms of burrows between the fingers). I rarely see anyone using malathion, and I never have heard of a USA doctor prescribing it. The little black dots are oils your skin produces. Sometimes skin produces more when it is abused or irritated. it starts off white, but then turns dark as it reacts with oxygen and gets dirty. Read more here: www.cosmopolitan.com/style-beauty/beauty/a30169086/sebaceous-filaments-facts/ Some folks go crazy applying hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol or whatever to their skin and it reacts by producing more oils and then people think the oils are critters. Google sebum and sebaceous filaments and black dots and you'll find lots more info. Oh! Stop using whatever cream is making this happen! Let your skin rest without anything on it. Use mild liquid hand soap (NOT anti-microbial) as and not much as over-washing also can strip away the natural oils from your skin. After a few days or a week…when your skin normalizes…start using your beauty products one at a time to see how your skin responds. Be good to your skin…it puts up with a lot!

    I have a web page that answers all these questions here: maximpulse.com/permethrin/treatinglaundry.html Simply put, I ran my dry/dirty clothes in the dry on high heat for 30 minutes. It is the hot, dry heat that kills the mites and eggs. If I wanted to I subsequently washed them but often I didn't. This saves a lot of time, especially with quilts or pillows. I did spray some seats with 1/2% permethrin and let it dry. I have a web page about this here: maximpulse.com/permethrin/tickproof_clothes.html

    Scabies mites do not fall anywhere. The immature mites hide in pores or other cracks on the surface of your skin. The pregnant adult scabies mites are under your skin tunneling around. Scabies mites hang on with tiny pincers and just walk from here to there. No falling, jumping, flying…just walking. Scabies mites and their eggs are too tiny to be seen without magnification. If you can see something falling, then it is not scabies mites. I am sure you are seeing something, but it must be something else. Can you go to a clinic and have someone take a look? Either that or you can take samples on clear scotch tape, save the samples in clear plastic bags and then take them to a university entomology dept or a US Extension Service office and they can look at your samples and tell you what you are dealing with. They sometimes charge a small fee for the analysis. It makes all the difference in the world to know what your enemy is! Where in the world are you located? (just city/state/country or zip code if in USA…not your exact location!)

    Sorry to take 2 weeks to reply. I've been preoccupied doing a Kickstarter campaign on my Renaissance Playing Cards (yes, that's a shameless plug!). Can you use 10% sulfur lotion on your head and face? The main thing is to keep it out of your eyes, nose, ears and mouth. Otherwise it just depends on trying it on a small area and waiting a while to see how you skin responds. I had no problems, but I just used it up to my jaw and maybe an inch into my scalp on the back of my head. It might sound funny, but I made sure to rub my eyes and blow my nose before applying this stuff. Once my hands were covered I couldn't touch my eyes, nose or mouth (although I could wash off my hands, rub my eyes, and then re-apply the sulfur lotion). As always, more info at my web site: www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/soothing_itch.html

    Anyone can be sensitive to a particular thing. Some folks break out from permethrin. Some have no side effects. Same with sulfur or benzyl benzoate or whatever. Pine oil is used for many things. It is even used as a massage oil. NuStock contains only 2% pine oil and 73% sulfur. When diluted to a 10% lotion that becomes 0.3% pine oil. That is just a trace. There isn't anything I've seen that says pine oil is "not good for human skin". If you have some scientific reference, I'd be glad to read it. I realize some folks are more sensitive to particular things so I suggest trying any new lotion on a small portion of one's skin and then waiting half an hour to see what their reaction is. Most folks are just fine, but any individual can be particularly sensitive.

    I was treating a patient with scabies for a week, 17yr old boy, no significant rashes between his fingers, with eurax, permethrin and sulfur soap but his mom was impatient and went to another doctor and diagnosed him as contact dermatitis. Patient's rashes got worse afterwards with intense itching at night and came back to me and it made it harder to treat now. It is really hard to treat scabies if a doctor looks for classic signs between the fingers and no laboratory tests done and not think outside the box.

    +Dokito Prito Scabies is sometimes called "The Great Imitator" because it can appear like other skin problems. I know I was diagnosed with eczema for a long time by doctors and ultimately it turned out to be scabies. I sympathize with your frustration. Even though bumps between the fingers is the "classic" symptom of scabies, I never had a single bump one my hands! It turns out most scabies cases have bumps between the fingers, but a lot don't. That's the problem with doctors who are trained to only look for the most common symptoms…it means a good number of sufferers get left out and go untreated.

    hello. so i looked over your treatment schedule and im a little confused by it. Because when i looked over it, it's basically showing you need to apply permethrin, benzel bonzate lotion, and the sulfur lotion each same day as the permethrin. how exactly do i apply it? is there a certain order or do i apply permethrin first and then apply the others? im just confused. and my case is a severe case, not mild.

  • @maximpulse

    @maximpulse

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hi Sarah, Oh no! The schedule page shows 3 different separate treatments! You choose one of the following lotions: permethrin, benzyl benzoate or sulfur. Then you can add oral ivermectin to any of them. So you don't do all 3 lotions. You just pick one and follow that one. You can do the permethrin once a week, for instance, and the also apply sulfur lotion during the week, if you want to. But you don't want to go too crazy because all of these treatments irritate one's skin and you don't want to beat your poor skin up any more than necessary. Sorry for any confusion!!! Please feel free to write again anytime. There is a link at the bottom of most of my other pages to email me directly. if you wish.

  • @maximpulse

    I don't think sulfur soap "works"…well, it doesn't cure anything by itself. it can make one feel better because it might kill some surface mites and also has a mild antibacterial action, but when one washes with it you are only applying a thin layer of soap. And once you rinse off it's gone. When you use sulfur lotion or cream you are applying a much thicker layer and it stays on longer (12 hours or overnight). Sulfur has been used for thousands of years and there is no sign of any resistance to it. If you can give your cat weekly 2 to 3% lime sulfur dip (Lymdip) baths they will eventually cure your cat. You might want to consider taking oral ivermectin yourself. I have a ton of info on that here: www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/ivermectin-horse-paste-for-scabies.html Again, feel free to email me using the link at the bottom of each of my web pages. +Sabrina See When I had scabies I never had any symptoms on my hands. it made doctors very resistant to even consider that I might have had scabies. When I did the scabies treatment I didn't know if I even had scabies…it just seemed like a possible diagnosis so I tried the treatment. Being cured was not proof I had scabies, but I didn't care about proving anything…I just cared about getting cured. The night time itching is due to one's body switching over from the sympathetic to the parasympathetic nervous system. In there words, when the body is getting ready to go to sleep more histamine is produced which turns on the itching big time. I found 10% sulfur lotion at night really eased my itching so I could finally get some decent sleep. The Eurax lotion is also good for easing itching, but is hard to get in the USA. Eurax is the only treatment I found which actually helped my skin to heal and eased itching. All the other treatments beat my skin up a bit. Eurax helps to kill scabies, but it isn't powerful enough by itself to rely on to cure scabies. But it was a great "add-on" item for me.

    Scabies is very difficult to diagnose. ALl the symptoms are actually created by the immune system as an allergic reaction to the waste the mites leave behind under your skin. I didn't know what was causing my symptoms but I tried the scabies 29 days program and it cured my problems. I figure the treatments are not dangerous and if they cure you, then great. • @maximpulse

    Hi Gunter, there really isn't a sure way to tell if you have scabies. If a skin scraping test is lucky enough to dig up a mite, then that says you definitely have scabies. If none are found, you won't know if you don't have any or if they just didn't scrap in the right place. Despite itching "all over" the average scabies sufferer only has 5 to 20 mites, so you can imagine how hard it would be to find one when scraping a small skin area. The itch is actually an allergic reaction, so the itch tells you where the mites have been, but not where they are now. Dermatologists have a very hard time identifying scabies. There are some classic places it appears, but often scabies shows up in non-classic locations and then doctors are hesitant to diagnosis it. I had two dermatologists tell me I had eczema and charged me $1000 for the pleasure (my insurance didn't cover it so the memory is quite clear). Also, most cases of scabies are cured by one or two applications of 5% permethrin or a round or two of sulfur cream, so if the doctor prescribes a scabies treatment and it "doesn't work", they are likely to say you must have something else. But that leaves that 10% of people who simply have a stubborn case of scabies out in the cold. That was what I ran into. But if it is something else, such as ringworm, a doctor can usually identify that…and it has its own treatment which is different from the scabies treatments. That's a good reason to show your skin to a doctor. My experience was that suburban dermatologists could not recognize scabies - they simply don't see enough of it in their practice. When I went to an inner city clinic, those doctors were much more likely to consider scabies as a possibility - plus they were a lot cheaper! Luckily, you can simply try one of the scabies treatments and if you are cured, it's over. One simple treatment is 10% sulfur lotion. Its cheap and easy to mix up your own or order pre-mixed. I have more info on the treatment procedures and sources on my web site at www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/soothing_itch.html

    maximpulse The way I discovered I had scabies was to get a cotton round and pour household hydrogen peroxide on it and rub it where my itching was )or just pour it straight on). After a few minutes little white bumps appeared where the scabies mite had burrowed under the skin. The peroxide oxidized in the burrow. I have repeated this technique a dozen times with the same result. I did try to use the peroxide both straight and in a lotion to get rid of them, It does help, but it does not fix the problem. the best it can do is give you some relief if you cannot get the permethrin cream right away. Maximpulse, thank you for you information. I have a test of the DIY permethrin cream on me right now.

    Question: I have just started the (3 days Sulfur/2 days Ivermectin treatment). I have the stubborn/severe case. It is day 4 and I am feeling slight movements on day 4, Do you still recommend body oil, skin lotions or Eurax lotion for those 4 days?

  • @maximpulse

    @maximpulse

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hi Stephanie, in clinical testing it was effective to do 3 days in a row of 10% sulfur lotion (12 hours of each days), and that was done each week. In other words, 3 days of sulfur and then 4 days off. I found I still was feeling movement of mites on around day 25 of my program, so feeling stuff on day 4 is perfectly normal. I did use body oil (a thin sesame oil) because the sulfur dried my skin out. I did that anytime I felt like it. Body oil or skin lotion won't affect the cure. But Eurax is a medicine, and I liked to at least have a day off between the topical treatments…just to give my poor abused skin a chance to recover a bit. For instance, I used the 5% permethrin once a week, but then took a day off, and one week I did 3 days of the sulfur lotion. Another time I did the permethrin, took a day off and then did 4 days of the Eurax lotion. There aren't any laws about what you can do when. I just tried to pay attention to my skin and not beat it up too much. I know the feeling of wanting to do something all the time, but this is a gradual treatment. With a stubborn case it takes weeks…for me it took the full 29 days program. It takes mites 10 to 14 days after hatching to mature enough to lay new eggs, so the basic idea is to whack them once a week and they won't ever have a chance to grow up, mate and start a new generation. Doing treatments more often than once a week won't cure a person any faster, but if it makes you feel better to "do something" more often you are free to do that. Just try to be sure you pay attention to how your skin is reacting.Good enough?

  • @maximpulse

    Scabies mites can easily survive in 50° temperatures. In fact, they ive the longest in cool temps and high humidity…like a cave where you'd grow mushrooms. What kills the mites is a temp over 122° F for over 12 minutes. That's why one can put dry laundry in the dryer on high for 30 minutes to kill them. The dryer takes 5 minutes to warm up and the last 10 minutes is a cool down cycle, so in between you get 15 minutes of high heat which dries out and kills the mites. Also, scabies mites will die if they are off a human for longer than 2 or 3 days. In this case it doesn't matter what the temperature is…they just die when off a human for long enough.

    I like your video mate, I am assuming you're just doing this to help, and not trying to make money off it? (sorry, I'm an online affiliate marketing professional, so I'm always a bit cautious getting advice in search ways online) Just wanted to ask how long it took you to get rid of them once you knew it was scabies. I've known now for about 2 weeks. I've been using a mixture of treatments (castille soap, tea tree oil, and neem oil) I tried permethrin, but It didn't work and I found it highly toxic (weird tingling in my hands the next day, and a half numb face) and I know it's a neuro-toxin, so I don't want to resort to trying that again, especially seeing as it didn't work. Might be willing to try ivermectin pills if I can't get rid of it naturally, but really don't like taking poisons, and I've read that people have used my current natural treatments with success. I'm just going to keep doing castille soap and tea tree combined treatment 2-3 times a day which includes washing and soaking in it, and then putting a mix of tea tree with a carrier oil on my skin straight after bathing. Anyway, just curious how hard it was to get rid of for you. I'm finding new long marks on my torso yesterday, so I know I've not managed to kill them off properly yet. It seems from reading and my experience so far, that it's EXTREMELY hard to clear them from your environment properly, and thus easy to get reinfested... So gross. Can feel them crawling in my arms and on my face as I type this, that's probably the most disconcerting symptom. Such a nightmare... any feedback on your success with this is much appreciated. Nick

  • @maximpulse

    @maximpulse

    9 жыл бұрын

    Hi Nick, I first used 5% permethrin cream two times, a week apart. I hoped I was cured, but came back about a month later. Then I did a 29 day program which was designed by a hospital and the Australian government to treat epidemics among the aborigines called the Healthy Skin Program. I used 5% permethrin cream 5 times, and oral ivermectin many times, plus I used 10% sulfur lotion for a few days plus I used Eurax for 3 or 4 days and now and then used Eurax when an itch stuck. Ivermectin is about the least harmful medicine ever used. I wouldn't call it a poison. I have a web page with tons of information and links to various studies and articles. www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/ivermectin_plunger.html One example of a great article is here: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3043740/ So how long did it take to rid myself of scabies once I knew what I had? 29 days (once I started the Healthy Skin Program) There are at least 3 versions of the Healthy Skin Program, one using 5% permethrin, another using 10% sulfur lotion and another using benzyl benzoate…and one can add oral ivermectin to any of them. See a graphic schedule I drew here: www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/treatment_timeline.html I spent days and hours searching, reading and sorting out information on the web about scabies treatments. A lot of it is either unreliable or just plain bogus. There is only one reported case of tea tree oil curing one case of scabies…not exactly much to hang one's hat on. I preferred to read actual clinical studies and use those results as a starting point instead of all these rumors that circulate on forums. Some people are quite allergic to permethrin…some think it would be people who also have allergies to pollen such as ragweed. After all, pyrethrin (permethrin is a synthetic form of that) is made from the pollen of a flower. Pyrethrin breaks down more quickly than permethrin…that's why one uses permethrin as a treatment. But if you are having a bad reaction that's all that matters for you. You can turn to other treatments in addition to tea tree oil and neem oil. I personally think if you just use them as your treatment you will never be cured, but that's just my opinion. You may get lucky. I am pretty convinced one can use 10% sulfur lotion (or 5% permethrin or benzyl benzoate) to cure over 90% of scabies cases. But I hear a lot from that other 5% or 10% who have a stubborn case and it seems they benefit from adding oral ivermectin. Sulfur has been used for 2000 years so it has a long track record, plus it tends to ease itching. I have a lot more info here: www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/soothing_itch.html And, of course, it is so hard to be sure one actually has scabies! The only way I was as sure as I am was when the scabies treatment cured me. I have a lot of links to web sites, articles, studies and products on my web site. I am an Amazon associate so if you buy a product through my links, I do get an approximately 6.5% commission, but you pay the same price as if you went there on your own. I also have links to products at places where I don't get any commission but I include those links because some stuff you can't even buy in the USA or on Amazon (like buying benzyl benzoate from Australia, which I have links to and which I actually did myself). Most of the links lead to products I have bought and used myself. I'm cheap (although over the year+ I had scabies I blew over $1000 on doctors and stuff) so I do search for good prices on good products. I have done my best to inform people the way I wish I had been informed long ago. I see no harm in using the Amazon Associates program to both direct people to good products and to also make a small commission. I put that information/disclosure on every page of my web site, too (at the bottom of each page). Golly I have put a lot of time and money into curing myself and buying and trying stuff and making the web site and whatever. That doesn't mean I expect anything from anyone, but I don't think I need to hide anything…I feel pretty darned good about myself, actually!!! I have to laugh as I write that. And it sounds like you know how to to avoid clicking on any of my links, if you wish to. The full names of the products are right there so one can simply go to the Amazon website directly, do a search, and buy whatever without including me in any way.

    Hi Maxim, i im taking my 2nd dose of the ivermectin pills today, i was wonderin if u think its better to take the entire dose at once or if i should take 2/3 of it today and the other 1/3 part of it 2 or 3 days from now?/ My 1st dose was 12-14 days ago and i took the entire dose that time. Now theyr almost gone and i would like to know the best way to knock them out, or at least what u think about it. Its been almost 2 months and i cant wait to hangout with my 12 and 13 year old sons, of witch i miss sooo much. Thanks

    1. You takes the entire dose at one time. I've never heard of anyone taking part now and part later. 2. It is essential to do the scabies treatments every 7 days. The scabies mites lay eggs under your skin. Nothing kills the eggs. But the treatments kill them after they hatch. After an egg hatches it comes up to the skin surface and when they are 10 to 14 days old they mate and then burrow in to lay more eggs. So if you kill them off every 7 days they never get mature enough to lay new eggs. If you wait 12-14 days you will have a whole new generation of mites. It will be like starting all over. 3. Read more here on my page about ivermectin: goo.gl/1MeC2H 4. I have found the best way to cure scabies is to do BOTH oral ivermectin AND a topical treatment (such as 5% permethrin lotion or 10% sulfur lotion or 25% benzyl benzoate lotion. You can read about them all here: goo.gl/apBnV9 5. There is an email link at the bottom of all of my web pages. You can email me anytime to ask more questions.

    i have checked out your website and its great, very informative. i even checked out your resources from the CDC, the problem was that when i saw my Dr. he insisted that i wait 2 weeks before i take my 2nd dose, and he kinda made me nervous by telling me that it was like a poison, so i was a bit intimidated. i went back to your site and i read everything again and u make total sense with all yuor theorys and the fact that u did all the procedures yourself. during the second week i did do the permethrin and i also did the coconut oil with the pure tto mixed together. so im hoping i didnt go backwards with my treatment. i ordered the sulfur cream and a tube of the apple flavored ivermectin. i will continue to treat myself every 7 days from now on til these dam bugs are gone for good. again i thank u very much and praise u for taking the time for helping desperate ppl like me. i was so tired of ppl telling me it was in my head. i'll check in with u in a week or 2 and let u know how it goes, i cant thank u enough

    Hi Rudy, Let me know how your progress goes. I'm glad you are reading the materials I've provided and are making up your own mind what's what. The misinformation that doctors pick up is enough to drive anyone crazy. And yet they hold the keys to the doors of prescription medicine. I have to say I felt a great weight lift from my shoulders when I decided to read as much research as I could and then make my own decisions and get what treatments I could get without going through doctors. That meant I had to responsibility for my own decisions and actions, but still as the old saying goes, I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees (begging a doctor for a 'script). And by reading actual scientific studies and the results therein, I didn't die…whew! And don't worry, there's nothing in your head! (that's a joke)

    @@maximpulse Hi Max. I’m currently trying whatever I can to rid myself of these evil creatures from Hell and I’m going on my 5th month after initially expecting that I caught a case of head lice or fleas from my inside (only) cat laying next to my apartment door when my neighbor’s cat (indoor/outdoor) would wait for it’s owner to let her in. After a bit of researching, I assumed Scabies due to a couple at the local laundromat I USED to frequent and their wagon full of dirty laundry. Long-story-short, they washed all their piles of clothing in cold water (no hot water whatsoever in this laundromat, which I didn’t know) and were sorting the wet clothes on top of the same table before leaving to take them home to their dryer. I didn’t think about it when I laid my heavy quilt on top of the same table to fold and apparently brought them home to put on my bed. Three weeks later I was scratching all over and I’m normally allergic to dust mites! I finally went to my doctor begging for something to get rid of them, which he didn’t think I had them, even though he saw bite marks on my back. He reluctantly gave me a prescription for oral Ivermectin to be taken in 2 separate doses, 14 days between each dose. The first dose stopped the itching and I was elated, but the intense itching was worse before my 10th day and I took the second dose because I was crying and at wits end! Here I am now…still fighting these monsters and having spent at LEAST $500 on over-the-counter anything I’ve read from other people on the internet and reading everything I can to get rid of them! I finally came upon your youtube information and have been using permethrin bought from amazon and just took my 1st dose of apple flavored Ivermectin today, hoping to rid the last of them from my body forever. I plan on taking the paste until it’s gone-at the intervals you suggest and because I obviously have a resistant form of scabies. I’ve been wearing clean clothes every day, as well as clean towels with each shower and covering myself with permethrin afterward, except my head and face. Last night I decided to cover my head with permethrin, even my medium length hair. That may be where they’ve been hiding from me all along. I’m still feeling like they are crawling on my scalp and when I feel that horrible “sting” on my body, I’m assuming that I have another pregnant female to fight off. Hopefully, this oral horse ivermectin and permethrin will double up on fighting these horrific monsters. If you have any other suggestions, I would appreciate anything, since you have even said that waiting up to 14 days for the 2nd dose won’t kill them, but allow a new generation to invade. Thank you so much for your extensive and informative information!! You have no idea how much those of us who are suffering appreciate your experienced expertise!

    @@lillybrandy1188 Hi Lilly, One other thing you can do is to run your used laundry in the dryer for 30 minutes on high heat. Do not wash first…run dry (dirty) laundry on high heat for 30 minutes. Then you can wear it again. You can wash it if you want to, but you don't have to. This can save you a lot of time. Another treatment, especially if you want to apply it to your hair, is a newly FDA approved product called Natroba™, which has the active ingredient spinosad (an insecticide). Can the scabies bug fly ? I got attacked by a bunch of small, brown flying insect that is about 1 millimeter long. It leave many red mark just like scabies. This insect either stay on the skin or on the hair leg. When I washed my feet and legs in the bath tub, I saw them come off and fall into the water. Without washing them off in the bathtub, it is almost impossible to see them with a naked eyes. What type of insect in this if it is not scabies ?

  • @maximpulse

    @maximpulse

    Scabies mites only walk. They do not fly. In fact, they need to have something to grab onto to even walk because they hold on with tiny pincers. So they are basically only found on cloth-type surfaces…never on hard floors or plastic. Plus scabies mites are attracted to warmth. And they become basically immobile when they cool to room temperature. And almost all the symptoms of scabies are actually an allergic reaction created by the immune system so many different bug bites can have similar symptoms.

    Hi John, My recipe did not get flaky and dusty. Baby lotion and the concentrated sulfur ointment feel identical, so they mix well and go on just like any normal skin lotion. The recipe and what I used is here: www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/soothing_itch.html All the successful studies I've seen used either an 8% or 10% sulfur concentration. You can go stronger, but it seems there's no need to. Don't use the sulfur ointment straight as it is 83% sulfur. Great for cows but too strong for humans. I think it's essential to be as kind to one's skin as possible. After I washed off the sulfur lotion my skin did feel a bit dry, so I got some generic body oil at Target for around $8. I'd put some on a folded paper towel and lightly rub that all over. It only takes a thin layer of body oil to help. At first I tried mixing the sulfur ointment with mineral oil and that was a mess! Using baby lotion was perfect (plus at $4 for 27 oz it's really inexpensive!). I can identify with getting misdiagnosed. I heard the diagnosis "eczema" so many times…funny how I was cured using scabies treatments! Happy hunting!!!

    Ive done tried premethrien cream i may not spelled that right an i went an got two tubes of nustock one i mixed with lotion an other i just used it straight up. Where do you get that eurax i live in states in tennessee these mites have done got on my head an face. I don't know how much more of this i can handle. I put on clothes take them directly off wash them in hot water. I pull covers an sheets pillow cases actually i stop using pillows all together. An wash them in hot water every morning. Doctors don't know crap an i don't trust them anyway they just want money. Ive been using tea tree oil only thing i haven't used is neem oil.

    DO NOT use Nustock straight out of the tube! It is around 80% sulfur and you only need it to be 10%. Here are instructions for making 10% sulfur lotion from Nustock: www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/soothing_itch.html Here are sources for Eurax (from England) www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/eurax_for_scabies.html#where-to-buy-eurax HOT DRY HEAT is what kills the mites, so put DRY laundry in the dryer and run it on high for 30 minutes. That will kill the scabies mites and their eggs. DO NOT wash first. More instructions here: www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/treatinglaundry.html Neem and tea tree oil have never been shown to help with scabies mites. They are useful for other things but not scabies. Please go to my web site and spend some time reading the pages and hopefully you will get a clearer idea of what HAS been shown to work. All the cures are gradual and can take weeks. And at the bottom of all my web pages is a link to email me directly. Do some reading and then email me directly. I'm happy to help if I can. Maxim

    In my case I found it was doing several things that cured me. Here is the basic outline of the Healthy Skin Program. More info on my web site. 1. Apply one of the topical treatments weekly (5% permethrin, 10% sulfur, 25% benzyl benzoate, or Eurax) 2. Take oral ivermectin once or twice weekly 3. Run clothes through the dryer to kill off mites/eggs 4. Treat a possible systemic bacterial infection caused by scabies mites (using an antibiotic called cephalexin for a week) 5. Strengthen the immune system with a supplement called NAC Here is the schedule I followed. www.greendept.com/maximpulse/permethrin/treatment_timeline.html

    How do you know if you've cured scabies since the itching will persist for up to 2 months? The itching makes me think that the treatments I did didn't work. I've tried Permethrin and Ivermectin.

  • @maximpulse

    @maximpulse

    2 жыл бұрын

    The treatments are gradual, but by the end of the treatment (2 to 5 weeks depending on how stubborn of a case) the itching should be minor. The first treat I did was just two applications of 5% permethrin cream a week apart. The itching was less and I hoped I was cured but a few weeks later the itching came roaring back. So then I did a 5 week (29 day) program which included permethrin cream plus oral ivermectin. That did the trick and cured my stubborn case. I still had occasional itches, but I realized even normal folks have an itch here and there now and then. The itching is an allergic reaction created by the immune system in response to the crap the mites leave behind as they tunnel around. But new layers of skin grow from the bottom up so the crap trapped in the skin is gradually carried up to the surface. It takes about a month for a new set of skin layers to grow. So you get a new clean skin each month. So you should not itch like mad for two months. If you do you still probably have scabies. You might want to read my story of how I got sured here: maximpulse.com/permethrin/curing_my_scabies.html Also it is very common for a long-lasting case of scabies to cause a systemic bacterial infection which needs to be treated with an antibiotic called cephalexin. This sort of bacterial infection can also have itching and swelling even if the scabies has been cured. Read more about this here: maximpulse.com/permethrin/scabiesandbacter.html
