It's super annoying to watch his shows if you are Asian. His Chinese accent and his use of words are so off. And dear lord, he is a food host, but all he can say is 'this has sesame taste' or 'tai hao le' which means very good. My wife and I were one of his earliest subscribers but have since unsubscribed.

I had a jackfruit for the 1st time last week and it tasted somewhere between a mango, orange and pineapple but not intense flavors like those 3 fruits. Quite mild and absolutely moreish and texture similar to lychees. Maybe the creator made it so big to fit all those fruits in.

Jackfruit has to be tree-ripened and then further ripened after picked to get a good level of sweetness. It's very important to pick a good one and then wait until the best moment to cut it. The one they showed is actually a very small one.

Wow, I have actually had all of those here in the US though I did have to travel to a good Chinatown, the local Asian Markets in my town rarely carry any of those. But I gotta say they were FAR fresher when I was in Viet Nam. And the mangosteens here in the US are very hard to come by only available for a couple weeks and sooooo much more expensive. The bag you showed us would have been over $25 in NYC or Boston. There is a trick to finding ones that don't have many seeds in them. If you look at the little clover flower shape on the bottom, that will give you an idea of how many wedge/pods are inside. The fewer pedals the bigger the pods and yep they have seeds. Lots of pedals, the smaller the pods and no seeds. Oh, and the Dragon Fruit. How much did you eat of the red variety? There are a couple other varieties that inside are pink or white. My first experience with the red type scared the heck out of me, it'll turn you pee and poo red. I was so afraid something was wrong with me till I remembered eating one earlier in the day. lol.

Just a suggestion.......gather all the seeds of the jackfruit then boil in water (with a little bit of salt for added flavor) until cooked. They taste nice.

DURIAN is taken from the word DURI, which means THORN. Then added with the additive -an into DURIAN ( something thorny, thats why the fruit called DURIAN). As well as RAMBUTAN, taken from the word RAMBUT, which means HAIR and then added with the additive -an into RAMBUTAN (because the fruit looks very hairy). I guess both are original Indonesian/Malaysian fruit, because they are still called as mentioned in Indonesia/Malaysia, even in Vietnam.

Am from the border of Kerala, but from another state, can speak and read Malayalam pretty well. But there is a limit to glorify, isn’t it. Kind of irritating. That too when the claim is not true. If you tell me Kerala health minister is handling corona very effectively, I will agree hands down. Make claims that are real, else people won’t believe when you actually speak the truth.

Jackfruit is eaten as a fruit when ripe and when unripe in india we make a very spicy vegetarian meal out of it which tastes like mutton, we also roast them on charcoal. Also, as an Indian i cannot accept anything other than mango as the king of fruits. Mango is beautiful, looks beautiful, smells beautiful, tastes divine. Its actually god of fruits not even king.
