That sheepdog knife would be cool if they would make a fix blade version of it

There was a magnacut buck 110!?!?!?! How did I miss that!
I'd add the Benchmade Adamas and Spyderco Manix XL.
Heck yes! I love carrying big knives! I used to carry an XL cold steel Espada Voyager, then I moved. To the XXL Boker Kalashnikov, I accidentally broke the clip off it! Now, ironically, I carry a GEC slipjoint, but I also love and adore my Big Banter! I love big knives! I don't even have a practical argument for carrying a big knife, it just makes me smile when I whip out a big pocket knife to cut a box or something! These are some great knives you've mentioned here, I love the sheepdog! Almost pulled the trigger on it alot! Anyway great video absolutely awesome!
Thanks Zac! I love all your video's because you deep dive into the subject, history, factories, the how and why of most subjects. Keep up with the good work I very much look forward to your vids!! Again thanks!!!
Short and sweet. Awesome content/info, and killer video work. Thanks guys
I’ve always loved carrying big knives. Most of the knives in my collection are 4in or above in blade length! Just recently got the 4Max. Love it so much! Another large folder I love is the CRKT Linchpin. It’s beefy and awesome too!
Thanks for another awesome vid Zac Keep em comin. Always excited when I see a notification from u man.
Benchmade Adamas! I EDC one with the combo blade at work (I’m a paramedic). I find that the serrated part of the blade works very well on vehicle airbags. Another awesome video Zac!!! Keep on keeping on
One big knife Ive been carrying lately is the Cold Steel Ranch Boss 2. Its got an overall length of 9.25 inches with a 4 inch blade. It gives you that old school look and feel like a Buck 110 but with modern features like a liner lock.
@alpine1600s

I picked up he RBII when it came out. It is patterned after an older folding hunter slip joint pattern, that evolved from a large toothpick or powder horn pattern that are actually comparatively larger than the 110.

@@senoB the Range Boss is essentially the tri-ad lock grivory handle version of the Ranch Boss 2 (it's essentially a more budget version of the Broken Skull)
@GOxHAM

One of their best models. Was initially named the broken skull and was a collab with Steve Austin. I’m guessing something ended with the collab so they renamed and remade the knife. Overall though, it’s the same knife.
My first big EDC knife was the Coldsteel AK47 (the same knife being tested at 2:40) . Super chunky but carries like a smaller knife. Carried it working outdoors as a beefy work knife for a long time. Had it until a couple of years ago when the blade broke a half quarter chunk out of the center. Sent it back in recently to see if they would warranty it and they did! My original one was old enough to be AUS8 and they upgraded me to S35V which was sick

Cold Steel is so awesome. They don’t follow trends but customer service and function is always in style.
Well-done video. I love Cold Steel! I have some big ones on my wish list, but one of the random ones I like to carry just for fun is the Colossus II.
Excellent Video Zac!! You never disappoint.
I used to carry Spyderco Military back in the day and had a lot of fun with it. I lived in Calgary so a pocket knife didn't scare nobody, and I worked outdoor so big sturdy knife was a must. Military did all that and more. But then, small EDC folder wasn't exactly available in those days. Actually, word EDC didn't exist back then if I remember correctly. Now I'm carrying a Baby Banter and it's a good knife, handy and discreet. But oh lord, that new Spyderco Military 2 is calling me and it's getting harder to resist.
Knives like these always put a smile on my face - I need to finally get one 😎 I really like the Sheepdog XL, but have also been eyeing the Olight Gaur.
i just got the SR1 lite a few weeks ago and i love it
Another good one, Zac. I liked that you had a different backdrop for each knife you showed. Great job!!
I like big knives too. I still have an old Cold Steel Gunsite folder I carried when I was a police officer/firefighter. On a bet I successfully pierced a junk car door with it and scratched it a little but it held the edge. And I love that old gas station. It made me harken back to my childhood. My favorite big knife now is the updated Spyderco Military 2.
I absolutely love my big Cold Steel knives. 1st generation TalwarXL, Espada L , and XL Voyager. For the past 2 years I'm carrying Spyderco Police4 lite. I have basketball player hands so they all fit good
Dude, I freaking love the Sheepdog XL
Love my 4 max Scout.
I always really enjoy your videos. 🙏 Keep them coming 😉
Comment for the algorithm. Y’all continue to put out absolute bangers every week.
Love my sheepdog xl!
I carry a Cold Steel SR1 Lite. Love the large EDC knives.
Excellent vid. Thanks Zac. George from Greece.
My favorite big EDC knives are the AD15 and the new MSI. Both are big, but not too big, and have all the features I want in a knife!
I EDC'd a Cold Steel Recon 1 tanto with ultra lock all throughout college, adding on a large Voyager as a second knife just because lol. Double 4" knives might seem ridiculous but I also had a ton of art projects so they came in very handy. Nowadays, I have at least either a Spartan Harsey Folder or Endura 4 in K390 as a larger knife in pocket. Tri-ad lock Recon 1s have also made their appearances too.
I just got a Bestech Keen II and it is by far my biggest knife. So much fun, still a useful design.
My favorite big folder is the CRKT M21. I love the Carson flipper and the dual locking mechanism. Carried that knife for years before I got into EDCing fixed blades. Now I carry a Tops HOG 4.5 in Red Hill kydex, and folding knives just seem silly to me.
I have the Kizer Sheepdog C01C XL in carbon fiber. It's so fun, especially the ping sound it makes when you flip it open and closed.
@zacinthewild

There is something satisfying about the ping.
Just got a Civivi Bullmastiff about 5 days ago. It's a fun knife, just have to carry it the back pocket.
The Boker XXL Kalashnikov could definitely make the list. It’s definitely the hardest kicking auto I’ve ever owned from slapping out the almost 5 inch blade. Gets bonus points for being a Bowie because it’s almost impossible not to quote Crocodile Dundee every time you pull it out.

Just picked up and started carrying the Buck 112. The 110 baby brother. Wonderful knife.
I’m digging that sheepdog XL. 👍👍🔥🔪
I just picked up the Boker XXL Kalashnikov Bowie knife. I got it more for the fun factor than anything.
For the past year my edc has been the CS 4max scout. Prior to that was the CS Espada XL for six years. In my opinion I dont regard the 4max as a big knife. Rather a perfect size. My issue with big folders are, apart from the 4max or Espada, is that other knife companies creat these beautiful big blades an then just slap a liner lock on it. I kinda feel that’s irresponsible of them. In my opinion liner locks are obsolete since we have frame locks and even access locks that give better strength. I would also love to see CRKT use the deadbolt lock to its full potential in a 4-5 inch cleaver folder. Thanks for the vid oak, always great content!

I just got the Kizer Sheepdog XL in the premium titanium version. It is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
Always fun videos
I bought my first civivi knife off your recommendations and I have bought fixed blades and folding knives from then and they are very nice I have not been disappointed
Amazing video and I carry 4 max scout as my EDC set up as my self defense and tool to carry
Can't agree more on the big banter. It's a VERY big knife but it's incredibly portable.
Just got my first coldsteel (AD10) and it's ridiculously chunky but out the box, one of the sharpest knives. Been edc'ing the last few weeks and while there are a few cons, I generally like it.

For the last year or so, my EDC has been a AD15... And since I hate having stuff in my pocket, I carry it in a open sheath. I like it.
Well, as for Big EDC folding knives. I'm glad you mentioned some of the Cold Steel folders. But you talked about the small ones as far as I am concerned. I went a bit nuts and bought, the Cold Steel Voyager Clip point with 5.5 inch blade, and its the smallest. Then the Luzon, with a six inch blade. The Rajah II, you mentioned the Tanto version of that one Cold Steel Knife, but the Rajah II is a fold Khukuri, with a Six Inch blade, the Tri Ad lock and the blade thickness is right about 3/16ths of an inch. And its a beast. 14 inches over all. I'm glad you touched on the Espada, I have the XL version with the 7.5 inch AUS10a steel blade, and the G10 handles. About half the price of the Fancy one. I have a Buck 110, and I've had it for years, but its small when compared to the Cold Steel Folders. Oh, and all of the Cold Steel Folders, can be opened and closed, one handed.
Cold Steel XL Voyager with 5.5” Tanto with the full Serrated Aus 10 blade. It was something I wanted in High School in the 90s and now I edc my dream knife.
110 was and still is my favorite But thanks as always for a great look at several great choices Zac
#1 AD10 #2 SR1 Lite #3 4max Scout #4 Talon #5 AD20 (only because of price, otherwise it's #2)
I bought a replacement Buck 110 in Walmart Durango back in 2005, to replace a 1984 Model I'd had stolen. the new one came with a Cordura sheath that has 2 carry options on the back, so I carry it horizontally on the front left of my belt ... which is perfect for accessing and can be worn even when I'm carrying a Rucksack
I carry the voyager xl -tanto at work every day. I switch between the voyager xl clip point and the 4max scout in casual dress and now thanks to this video probably the sr1-lite 😊😊
On a whim, I bought the Civivi Bullmastiff. It's big yet lightweight with the relief cuts in the liners. Great flipping action also. Also, I really like the deep carry pocket clip and color options...blue. The Kershaw Strata is interesting as well. One of the better options from them in a while. Love your channel, keep the vids coming.
Would like to get a 4max scout eventually. Great video!
Delightful.
My edc for years now is cold steel voyager xl and I absolutely love this knife! And one thing for sure is always be careful when you pull this kind of a blade because people have tendency to freak out 😅
4MaxScout is an awesome edc folder!

The Cold Steel SR1 is my edc knife.
That’s funny! I carry that same sheepdog and same bug out:p
The Manly Peak is my current favorite. About a 4 Inch blade with a low price tag. Nice big locking Blade, available in D2 or S90V, one-handed or two handed. Not to mention you can pick different scale colours as well.
Love the SR1 Lite! It’s basically a sharpened pry bar!

Ben makes a beautiful knife. I need to pick up that Big Banter. 🗡️🗡️
I carry my scout everyday love it
I'm normally a medium knife size person, but there is something special about carrying a buck 110 that knife is just plain awesome
For big but slim knives, I gotta mention balisongs. Long handles and blades with decent stock thickness, whatever pivot system you want, generally good grip and pretty secure in your hand
While making it thru RANGER SCHOOL, class 4-77 at the Mountain Ranger Camp one of the Ranger Instructors spotted the Randall #1 I had on my LBE. He immediately chewed me out for having a high speed knife which I might lose, being a dumbass, made me do about 25 pushups and sent me down to the PX to get a normal knife. I got a Buck 110 and for the rest of the twenty years I did in the Army, always had one with me. Think I got my first one in 1965, The original TACTICAL FOLDER.
Oh yea… I rock that 4-max beater….big click energy!!
Thank you for this video, I'm a huge fan of large EDC knives, the 4max scout is a beast and you are absolutely right about the sheepdog, it's definitely one of my most fun knives to carry. I'm curious on your thoughts about Cold Steel since being bought by GSM? Thanks again for creating the best knife content on KZread.

I love my Taylor guitar! More of a reason to get me a Buck 110. Taylor Guitars are doing great things to save Ebony for future generations and is also one the reasons I will only buy acoustics from them now.
I do have the CS SR1 Lite and it’s a tank! Some other big knives I carry is the Civivi Bullmastiff the Harnds Warrior and the Ganzo G740!
I carry a Buck 110 every day. Very durable and easily my favorite. I didn’t know it was considered a “big” knife lol
I picked up the Kizer Clairvoyant recently, and it's a bit like the WE Reaver you featured in that it's a large knife, but since it's so slim, it doesn't feel too large to practically carry
Carrying the manix xl in m4 today, big storms last night call for big blades for cleanup😎
The biggest blade I throw in my rotation is the Spyderco Endura 4. Love that knife.
Excited for the new Military 2 from Spyderco for large knives. Looking into a Combat Troodon as well
Kizer Critical in titanium is probably the only knife I own in the large folder range, since I like stuff that sorta melts into you pocket, ie para 3, mini griptilian, or FN babycore. But that chunk of titanium fits great in in jeans or my lined work pants, in the colder months. Kizer and Cold Steel have some sorta dark arts department that turns these monster folders into surprisingly small footprints when on your person. Also sorta feels good carrying a overkill folder when I usually go for the smaller stuff.
Carried the CS Voyager XL and the Spyderco Resilient for many years. Nowadays it's the Kizer XLSheepdog or XL Begleiter button lock.
My favorite edc big knife would have to be the sheepdog, the first knife you showed. I used to have a buck knife, but lost it. Got a few “that’s what she said jokes” out of this video! Great video thanks zac!
Have a great day everyone!
I like to carry the Artisan Cutlery Proponent. It reminds me of a broken sword. Great video btw.
Great presentation...I own 4 Buck 110s, a Buck 110 Slim, and a Buck 112...I've added a couple of the others featured here to my "to do" list...I would very much like to see an episode on Axis/crossbar knives only, as those are my favorite to carry, being completely one handed open/close with no extra movements needed to close and infinitely figgity/playable with. Almost as figgity as a good balisong...my favorites atm are all Benchmade that I have a bunch of and one lone SOG Terminus XR. I'd like to see other brands of axis/crossbar lock knives, my collection is ever expanding. Incidentally, my two favorite large folders that are not featured on this video are my Benchmade Contego, and my Cold Steel Swift, both of which get their turn as EDC on a regular basis.
Daily carry for 25 years has been a SpyderCo Police. I have both the serrated and unserrated models. Sometimes even with the SpyderCO in my pocket I have carried a Lakota Lil Hawk (bought in 81/82) or its replacement a Gerber Parabellum one of which still has a place on my SHTF belt.

A little disappointed Zac, that the Manix XL from Spyderco wasn’t on this list lol
Spyderco Military with 3.75" CPM 440V blade. overall 9.5" Lightweight and slim. It's not cheap but well worth it.
I carry a fixed blade everyday as my big knife. Ruike Jager F118. I also carry everyday a Kershaw Leek (given by my step-grandpa in 05'), a Gerber Quadrant, and a Leatherman Tool in it's sheath. Also frequently but not everyday a 12' mini tape measure imperial & metric, a couple clamp forceps straight & curved, surgical tweezer forceps (great for splinters), a tactical pen with little flashlight/laser pointer/stylus, and lastly my phone and wallet. Pretty much as my mom likes to call me, a walking toolbox. Still need to get me a good pair of collapsible shears. Knives are great for opening bags, shears were purpose built for it though. I've considered getting a webbing/MOLLE style vest, so I can preconfigure it with everything I like, and just throw it on my way out the door. Before long I'll be adding a full size concealed carry into the mix as well. I grew up in cub scouts/boy scouts and took "Be Prepared" to heart lol. Pretty much the walking meme of 'tacticool.' :P
You forgot the Opinel No12 and Cold Steel Ti-Lite 6 in, the OGs of big knives.
The big banter all the way, and it's a fair price for a great knife designed by a great guy. The buck is a good knife that I grew up using. Awesome video, brother Zach 💯👍
Aaaaaaaand here it comes. That's what she said. Sorry Zac too easy. Love the video as always. Thanks
The Cold Steel Pocket Bushman is an excellent big knife carry. It is the slimmest knife of it's size in my collection, and disappears in the pocket unexpectdly well. Not a fidget champ, but super solid, thin, and budget friendly.
