DVD Shrink. That was the go-to back in the mid 90's. Coupled with Slysoft (at the time) AnyDVD, you could decrypt anything. There's better compression tools now though. Rip with makemkv, then compress to x265 10bit mkv with opus audio. If you're still into physical media ie bd25, use bd rebuilder.

Is it possible to rip the menu? I mean having the menu video as mkv?

I've noticed that when you rip a dvd movie from a drive connecting to sata is a lot faster than a drive connecting to USB. Ripping a movie depends both on CPU and GPU

Make MKV is not in BETA anymore, the free key expired 1/1/2024!!!!. Handbrake is a compression software, it will not rip a dvd that is DRM protected, the same applies to VLC.

@@tc1uscg65 Where can I find that file? I've been trying to find a way to digitize protected DVDs for the longest. All the ones on YT never works for me:/

Amazing, but too bad Blu-ray DVDs are no longer going to be sold at store or online. It's going to be hard to find new movies on torrents, when they will only be available on streaming apps like Netflix. The days of backing up 4k videos on PC is over.
