I remember when I started, I researched and read like crazy to the point I was burnt out for a couple years, but I didn’t retain much.

Unfortunate that you didn’t take notes as you went along regarding what resonated with you. I’ve revamped my BOS three times as I continue to learn and practice.

I started my path a few years ago and I was reading nonstop. I did enjoy it but it became like a scholar thing more than me truly learning the craft. Beginner books are great when having little experience but I learned the most from other witches! Creating that community and that space where you can be comfortable with people on the same spiritual path is huge

There is NO mistakes, it's a path that is unique to you and learning what doesn't work from experience will bring you closer to what is right for you. Even what is here called mistakes are very valuable experiences. I enjoy theory and reading, I can go months without any tangible practices and often I am too tired to keep records in a book and that is fine. Enjoy the experience and don't be too hard and too judgmental on yourself. ❤

I walked away from the path 20 years ago bc all that was available in the bookstore was faery magic, Wicca and beginner 101. I returned a few years ago and it's been a huge time warp! Lol i feel like I've been under a rock. Healing the Witch Wound is a great crash course on the Burning Times and well cited. Highly recommend.

This resonates so much, because i made the mistake of trying to put my witchcraft journey as a beginner under a label or category, and it was years before i realized that if i'd looked at more options i wouldve found more authentic ways to practice witchcraft outside of the "crystal witch" label i was putting on myself.

For North American green witches, don’t just study European plants and spirits, the US has such a diverse bounty that was cultivated long before Columbus that have their own magical properties that is valued among our pollinators. Learn the Native pronunciations and mysticism behind the life in your local area. Honor the history of your land and those who cultivated it. You can’t honor the land if you don’t know it’s true spirit.

Am genuinely so touch by this video, because even if am not a beginner anymore I kind of struggle with where I am, with I am feeling with witchcraft now and my own magic. Seeing this video make me thinking about it, and I can tell « perfection is against Progress ». Thank you Ella, for that and for what you are doing for our community

Ah, I love everything you got! I love the Valentine’s Day goodies you snagged from the clearance section. Love a great deal! Also, omg I love the witchy mug with the broom stir! It seems At Home would prob be the best place to go look for Easter/spring goodies. Although I’ve always loved HomeGoods too :)

"Practice makes perfect" is what we say in English :) but it doesn't mean be a perfectionist, practice makes one the best we can be.

Hallo!! I'm a fairly new subscriber and I've absolutely fallen in love with your content! I've been a dedicated dabbler since I was about 10, but you and your channel seem to speak to a certain part of me that longs to be more stalwart. If you have the time or inclination, I would love to know what you call yourself in German, if you do indeed label yourself. Eine hexe or hexin? Volksmagie...anwenderin? Eine zauberin? My german is terrible, but those are the only terms that come to mind. Sorry if you've already answered this question elsewhere - like I said, I'm still fairly new to your channel and haven't watched everything yet! xx

Great Video & I love the German Quote Probieren geht über Studieren. Practice over Study. I had a pretty nerdy slightly dogmatic view point when I started my Yoga journey so jad my learnings about beeing so "stuck" in viewpoints etc. It was a process😅 of unlearning. So after the craft came naturally in my life because a very animistic concept that resonated with me and was a calling that was very clear to me. I think and believe that learning researching studying is a big part of any craft you want to master but still be so open that new perspektives can Show up. Agree totally with you and I can feel you in the Story of your starting Wicca flowing in witchcraft and then so on. And isn't like life itself that everything you "learn&experience" will be added to the things you've learned? Like deepening the knowledge to become your wisdom. And all this things need the time to "practice" to do the craft. Every single path you come along, will be the path to your innerself and the connection to _______(what ever you want to call) This is a wonderful path and form of concept that I admire very much. Because it is a deep love- for me to nature herself . Thank you Ela sorry for Texting this long. But you spoke so much out of my heart and I wanted to put my appreciation for your work here. Greates evening for you all while 1st Fullmoon of 2024🤍🧿✨️

I suppose it really depends, if you have a relationship with the spirit you could most definitely ask the spirit to assist you in banishing workings

i would say the other way around.. (or same) first read from all over the world, travel a little bit, explore.. then if nothing there holds you come back to your own culture, if it feels more natural, because for many it will.. no culture needs people who aren´t into the culture! of course culture being quite a flexible term.. like i´m not into the current city culture here, but nature herself hasn´t changed at all.. the same things that they saw i can discover here, pretty cool when you think about it.. i´m literally walking the same paths as my grandfathers now (well, one of them, the fisherman, the other one was a police officer, heh).
