the elgato CamLink is amazing, but it definitely requires a external batter for the camera, otherwise it will die in the middle of the streaming or whatever.

Regarding the tripod. I’ll do you one better. Get a MagSafe tripod mount. Attached to your gorilla pod and no problems!
